Michael Nouri (born December 9, 1945) is an American television and film actor.
He may be best known for his role as Nick Hurley, in the 1983 film Flashdance. He has had recurring roles in numerous television series, including NCIS as Eli David, the father of Mossad officer (now Special Agent) Ziva David, The O.C. as Dr. Neil Roberts, and Damages as Phil Grey. He also appeared as Congressman Stewart with Queen Latifah in the 2006 comedy movie Last Holiday and Detective Thomas Beck in the science fiction action film The Hidden.
Kyle Merritt MacLachlan (/məˈɡlɑːklən/; born February 22, 1959) is an American actor. MacLachlan is best known for his roles in cult films such as two of David Lynch's films—Dune (1984) as Paul Atreides and Blue Velvet (1986) as Jeffrey Beaumont—the science fiction action film The Hidden (1987) as Lloyd Gallagher, and Inside Out (2015) as the voice of Riley's Dad. He has also had prominent roles in television shows including appearing as Special Agent Dale Cooper in Twin Peaks (1990–1991; 2017) and its subsequent film continuation Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me (1992), Trey MacDougal in Sex and the City (2000–2002), Orson Hodge in Desperate Housewives (2006–2012), The Captain in How I Met Your Mother (2010–2014), the Mayor of Portland in Portlandia (2011–present), and Calvin Zabo in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2014–2015).
MacLachlan has won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Television Series Drama and has been nominated for two Emmy Awards, all for Twin Peaks.
MacLachlan was born at Memorial Hospital in Yakima, Washington. His mother, Catherine (née Stone), was a public relations director, and his father, Kent Alan MacLachlan, was a stockbroker and lawyer. He has British (Scottish and Cornish) and German ancestry. He has two younger brothers named Craig and Kent, both of whom live in the Pacific Northwest. MacLachlan graduated from Eisenhower High School in Yakima in 1977. He graduated from the University of Washington in 1982 and, shortly afterward, moved to Hollywood, California to pursue his career.
