The trail blazer in Korean women's golf, Pak Se-ri has retired from the professional circuit.
On Thursday, the 39-year-old was given an emotional send-off on as she withdrew after the first round of the LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship in Korea.
Pak burst onto the scene in 1998, and became the first Korean golfer to win a major.
During a time when the nation was hit hard by the Asian Financial crisis, she re-instilled a sense of can-do spirit with her barefooted swing in a water-filled bunker... that made highlight reels the world over.
She went on to win four more majors and 25 tour wins throughout her career, and subsequently inspired a generation of Korean women golfers that have dominated the sport since.
Recently she coached the women's golf team at the Rio Olympics, helping Park Inbee win gold.
She was also inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2007.

Pak Se-ri
Pak Se-ri or Se-ri Pak (Korean: 박세리, Korean pronunciation: [paːk sʰeːɾi]; born 28 September 1977) is a South Korean professional golfer on the LPGA Tour. She was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in November 2007.
Career overview
Born in Daejeon, she attended Yuseong Nursery School in that city and then Keumseong Girls’ High School in Gongju City, Chungnam Province where she was the school's best amateur golfer. She then moved to Seoul for training. Pak turned professional in 1996, a year before she moved to the United States as a 20-year-old. In 1996 and 1997, she won six tournaments on the LPGA of Korea Tour. Pak joined the LPGA Tour full-time for the year 1998, crowning her rookie season with victories in two majors: the McDonald's LPGA Championship and U.S. Women's Open. At just 20 years of age, she became the youngest-ever winner of the U.S. Women's Open. About.com writes that "Pak won a 20-hole playoff for that victory, making that tournament - at 92 holes in length - the longest tournament ever in women's professional golf." Four days after the U.S. Women's Open win, Pak shot a then-LPGA record 61 during the second round of the Jamie Farr Kroger Classic. She won the Rolex Rookie of the Year award for that season.

Pak withstood 72nd-hole fireworks from Duke standout Jenny Chuasiriporn, who holed a winding, 45-foot putt to force a Monday playoff. On Thursday, the 39-year-old was given an emotional send-off on as she withdrew after the first round of the LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship in Korea. Pak burst onto the scene in 1998, and became the first Korean golfer to win a major. During a time when the nation was hit hard by the Asian Financial crisis, she re-instilled a sense of can-do spirit with her barefooted swing in a water-filled bunker... that made highlight reels the world over. She went on to win four more majors and 25 tour wins throughout her career, and subsequently inspired a generation of Korean women golfers that have dominated the sport since. The trail blazer in Korean women's golf, Pak Se-ri has retired from the professional circuit.
On Thursday, the 39-year-old was given an emotional send-off on as she withdrew after the first round of the LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship in Korea.
Pak burst onto the scene in 1998, and became the first Korean golfer to win a major.
During a time when the nation was hit hard by the Asian Financial crisis, she re-instilled a sense of can-do spirit with her barefooted swing in a water-filled bunker... that made highlight reels the world over.
She went on to win four more majors and 25 tour wins throughout her career, and subsequently inspired a generation of Korean women golfers that have dominated the sport since.
Recently she coached the women's golf team at the Rio Olympics, helping Park Inbee win gold.
She was also inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2007.

Mirim Lee, already a two-time winner on LPGA Tour, is in prime position for her third victory in just her 33rd career LPGA event played. Lee fired a third round 6-under 66 and has a one stroke lead over rookie Alison Lee (-15) heading into the final round. Lee is looking for her first LPGA win in just her fourth start in her rookie year.
Mirim was all smiles after her round and confident in her position heading into Sunday.

Inbee Park won her third consecutive Women's PGA Championship on Sunday -- and accomplished a whole lot more.
Park also regained the No. 1 ranking in the world, surpassed idol Se Ri Pak for the most majors by a South Korean player with six, tied the LPGA Tour record for the lowest score in a major in relation to par at 19 under and, in her own mind, cemented a place in women's golf history.
"Obviously putting my name alongside like Annika Sorenstam or Patty Berg, legends of golf, just being a part of history of this golf tournament, I feel extremely honored, and I can't believe that I just did it," Park said.
The 26-year-old Park closed with a bogey-free 5-under 68 at Westchester Country Club, finishing the season's second major five strokes ahead of 22-year-old compatriot Sei Young Kim. Park had 22 birdies and only three bogeys in 72 holes.
"I played great the last three days," she said. "I couldn't believe myself. I made no bogeys for three days."
Park and Sorenstam (2003-2005) are only players to win the event previously called the LPGA Championship three consecutive years. It also was Park's fifth victory in the past 12 majors.
Park won the previous two years in playoffs in Pittsford, New York, taking the 2013 event at Locust Hill and the 2014 tournament at Monroe Golf Club.
Park birdied the par-5 final hole. She chipped her third shot to 5 feet, then sank the putt and threw her arms in the air as a fan yelled "Three-peat!"
It was her 56th consecutive hole without a bogey.
Kim, a two-time winner this season as a rookie, started the day two strokes back. She bogeyed the third and the fourth holes, then reeled off four consecutive birdies, holing a long putt on the eighth to pull within a shot of the lead.
That was as close as she would get.
A three-stroke swing on the ninth hole put Park in charge. She made a birdie putt, then watched as Kim three-putted for double bogey. Kim finished with a 71.
"Everything fell apart at the ninth hole," Kim said through an interpreter.
Lexi Thompson was third at 12 under after a 66. She had eight birdies on her first 13 holes.
Thompson pulled within two strokes with her birdie on the 13th. But she missed a chance on the par-5 15th hole, hitting her tee shot well right and scrambled to make par. She then bogeyed the 16th to end her chances.
"[I] just take a lot of positives from it knowing that I can pull off a round on Sunday here at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship," Thompson said. "It means a lot, and I'm going to take a lot of confidence going into my upcoming tournaments."
Brittany Lincicome, the winner of the first major of the year at the ANA Inspiration, finished fourth at 11 under. She birdied the final hole for a 68.
Seventeen-year-old Canadian Brooke Henderson tied for fifth with Morgan Pressel at 10 under. Her $132,725 check will help in Henderson's bid to earn a tour card for next year. She needs to either win a tournament or finish with the equivalent of the 40th player on the money list to avoid qualifying school after being denied an age exemption.
The shot of the day came from Hyo Joo Kim with a hole-in-one on the 149-yard 14th hole. She finished with a 71 to tie for ninth at 8 under.
With No. 1 Lydia Ko missing the cut for the first time in 54 tries, No. 2 Park needed to finish just 29th or better to retake the top spot she last held in February. It will be her third stay at the top of the rankings. She was No. 1 for 59 weeks in 2013.
Park earned $525,000 for her third LPGA Tour victory of the season and 15th overall.
She joined Sorenstam, Pak, Patty Sheehan, Nancy Lopez, Kathy Whitworth and Mickey Wright as the only players to win the event at least three times. Wright won it four times.

She led from start to finish, although she did share the first-round lead with Sung Hyun Park — who finished tied for second with So Yeon Ryu in a dominant tournament for South Koreans.
Chun broke the record at Evian Resort after she missed the cut here last year and tied for 65th in 2014.
In four days of intensely accurate driving and clinical putting, Chun was near-faultless. Her only significant blemish was a double bogey on the ninth hole in the third round — and even then she limited the damage having opted for a two-stroke penalty.
There was one bogey on Sunday, on the 14th, but she made a birdie on the next to move back to 21 under and almost added another birdie on the 16th, with her attempt stopping just short.
Chun, who won the U.S. Women's Open last year, is only the second player in LPGA history to have her first two LPGA wins come at majors. The other was countrywoman Se Ri Pak in 1998.
It looked like she might miss out on a new major record when she sent her tee shot into the left rough on the 18th. She chose the safe option and used a wedge to chop her way onto the fairway, about 95 yards from the pin.
Then, she glided her ball over the water to give herself a decent shot at history.
After making her record-breaking putt, she raised both arms in the air and smiled.

The birdie putts had not even reached the hole when Cristie Kerr marched right after them because she knew they were going in. Sunday at the Kia Classic had a familiar feeling to Kerr, even though so much in her life has changed.
Four birdies in a five-hole stretch helped Kerr erase a three-shot deficit in the final round at Aviara Golf Club. Four straight birdies on the back nine enabled her to pull away from Mirim Lee and 17-year-old Lydia Ko.
Kerr closed with a 7-under 65 for a two-shot victory, the 17th of her career, this one different from all the others. Before posing with the trophy, Kerr first clutched her 15-month-old son, Mason, to celebrate her first win as a mom.
"I could just tell by everybody’s reaction that I had won," Kerr said. "It was just amazing having him there, and he just gave me a big smile and a squeak. He’s screaming now. That’s his thing, and I always hoped this day would come. And now it has. Just so proud."
Kerr ended 42 straight LPGA events without a victory dating to the 2013 Kingsmill Championship. She finished at 20-under 268, breaking by six shots the 72-hole scoring record at a tournament that began in 2010.
It also ended a streak of seven consecutive LPGA events won by South Korean-born players dating to the CME Group Tour Championship last year.
"I love to win," Kerr said. "Golf has always been great to me, always given me special moments like this."
Lee nearly made it eight in a row when she drove the par-4 16th green to 4 feet for an eagle to get within one shot. But her next tee shot didn’t work out so well. She pushed it into the trees and chopped up the par-5 17th for a double bogey, costing her any reasonable chance of winning. She closed with a 70.
Ko was tied for the lead with a birdie on the par-3 14th hole, but the No. 1 player in women’s golf didn’t make another birdie the rest of the way. She lipped out on a 5-foot putt on the 16th and finished with a three-putt bogey on the 18th for a 67 to finish third.
It was her 28th consecutive round under par on the LPGA Tour, one short of the record Annika Sorenstam set in 2004. Ko’s next event is the ANA Inspiration at Mission Hills, the first LPGA major of the year.
"Last three holes were a little iffy, like yesterday, but 67 around here is good and I’ve improved my placing compared to last year, so a lot of positives to take from this week," Ko said. "And I’m excited for the first major next week."
Ko had her 10th consecutive finish in the top 10.
The 37-year-old Kerr couldn’t hold back tears after she won. The father of her caddie, Greg Johnston, died a week ago and Kerr said she wanted to win it for both of them.
"I’ve been working with a new coach, and I definitely found something this week," Kerr said. "He said I was going to have a hot round, and he was right. I just found something. I’m just real happy right now."
Having her son around made it all the more sweeter.
"I think when I got in contention last year, I thought about winning a little too much, wanting him to be on the green," Kerr said. "But you know, everything happens for a reason, and last year he couldn’t have run out to meet me. So maybe that was fate, too. But it was just huge."
Ilhee Lee became the third player this week to match the course record with a 64. Morgan Pressel had a 64 in the second round, and Se Ri Pak had one in third Saturday.

Ministri i Drejtësisë, Petrit Vasili thotë në “Arena” nga Dritan Hila në Ora News, se pas miratimit të reformës në drejtësi, për shkak të kushteve dhe puritanizmit ekstrem, shumë institucione të reja nuk kanë kandidatë.
Vasili: Është e vërtetë që flitet për lojëra politike. Ka një problem. Legjislacioni i miratuar krijoi edhe një problem të ri. Kushtet dhe puritanizmi ekstrem ka bërë që edhe kur procesi politik të mos jetë pengesë, ne nuk kemi kandidatë edhe për Këshillin e Lartë Gjyqësor edhe për Këshillin e Lartë të Prokurorisë.
Procesi është i hapur dhe nuk ka numër kandidatësh. Ka pasur disa kërkesa për ta rihapur procesin, që edhe ky është shumë i ndërlikuar. Ne po përballemi me një problem të ri. Në këtë moment nuk ka rol politika, por kandidatët. Nga të gjitha trupat që konkurruan, në të gjitha kishim kandidat më pak se sa vendet në dispozicion.
