Plot: Sanyogita, a young girl, is married into a family in Jaiselmer, Rajasthan. On the way to her in-laws house her newly wed husband, Ranbir Singh a rather violent man is arrested by the police. Sanyogita now arrives in her new home with a 'blemish'. Her mother-in-law has problems accepting her into the household. Besides the constant strife with her mother-in-law, Sanyogita has to face up to the loneliness in a very traditional patriarchal family where women of the house are allowed very little freedom and usually closed up in the 'womens' quarters'. It is in this setting that she makes a chance encounter with a nomadic blacksmith (gadiya lohar) Bheru. Sanyogita is unable to control her urges. Set in the bleak desert landscape of Rajasthan, the film tells the story of a young woman trying to escape from a violent, patriarchal setup in a very unusual manner - a raw almost documentary style which playfully adapts elements of Bollywood and the Westerns genre.

Plot: Ranbir Singh (Pran) is a honest and diligent police inspector, who is successful in nailing the notorious Teja (Ajit), and sending him to jail Unfortunately for Ranbir Singh, Teja escapes from jail, and kills Ranbir's son, Munna. Ranbir is heartbroken. Ranbir's friend, Rajinder Singh (Ashok Kumar), also a police inspector, comes to console Ranbir, and they together decide to go undercovr as Rana and Raja to locate Teja, who has many hide-outs within India as well as abroad, and also goes by many assumed names, including Heeralal. These two are indirectly aided by police inspector Vijay (Puneet Issar) and his girlfriend Geeta (Alokh Soundh), whose dad was killed by Teja's goons. Vijay has a rather spoiled brother, Shakti Singh (Shakti Kapoor), who ultimately ends up on the wrong side of the law, and is a disappointment to both Vijay and his mom (Chand Usmani). Teja finds out about Vijay and decides to lure him with the charms of one of his girls, Lucky (Madhu Malhotra). Meanwhile the undercover caper of Raja and Rana is so convincing that they end up in jail, and are bailed out by their friend, Imran Khan (Om Prakash), and so far have no clues as to the whereabouts of Teja.

Shirdi Ke Sai Baba (1977)

Plot: Pooja lives with her doctor husband and a young son. Her son becomes seriously ill and does not respond to any medication, her husband wants him to be moved to a hospital for further treatment, but Pooja has heard of Sai Baba and wants her son to be treated there. Her son regains consciousness for a short while and demands that he be taken to Shirdi, the town of Sai Baba. So they travel there, and that is where they meet with an ardent devotee of Sai Baba who recounts the tale behind the Baba. A young boy who traveled with a marriage procession to Shirdi, he stayed there, grew up, looked after by the kind townspeople, who subsequently named him Sai Baba. He showed Ganpat Rao that he is one with Vithoba and Bhagwan Shri Kishan; he demonstrated to Som Dev that he is one with Bhagwan Shri Shiv; former jailbird Heera regained his eyesight with Sai's blessing; During all of these miracles, the Sai always went door to door begging for alms and food. The legend grew, people flocked all over to witness this new Messiah, one whom the Muslims called "Allah Sai", Christians "Jesus Sai", Sikhs "Nanak Sai", and Hindus "Bhola Sai". Sai could recite scriptures from all the Holy books, whether it was the Holy Quran, the Holy Bible, the Holy Granth Sahib, or the Holy Geeta, and always blessed Hindus with "Allah bless you", and Muslims with "Krishna bless you". After his passing, a temple was built in his memory. It is here that a doubting doctor has to decide whether his ailing son can be treated by Sai Baba, and it is here where we will witness whether faith or scientific reality and logic will prevail.
