1:43 - Finding the idea and writing
4:04 - Research. Finding the locations, finding actors, buying camera, microphone and light equipment.
10:24 - Shooting the film. Technicolor Cinestyle picture profile, camera angles, directing actors, blocking, lighting a scene and recording sound
20:40 - Editing. Premiere Pro CC, color grading, sound effects, adding music, Music Vine and exporting.

Filmmaking
Filmmaking (or in an academic context, film production) is the process of making a film. Filmmaking involves a number of discrete stages including an initial story, idea, or commission, through scriptwriting, casting, shooting, sound recording and reproduction, editing, and screening the finished product before an audience that may result in a film release and exhibition. 10:24 - Shooting the film. Technicolor Cinestyle picture profile, camera angles, directing actors, blocking, lighting a scene and recording sound
20:40 - Editing. Premiere Pro CC, color grading, sound effects, adding music, Music Vine and exporting.
30:56 - The shortfilm "Coming home"

Lithuanian ruling elites try to supress LGBT people and keep having the worst record on the civil rights equality in the European Union, Romas Zabarauskas, a Lithuanian filmmaker tells Hromadske. His recent movie 'You Can't Escape Lithuania' was nominated as the best narrative feature at the Bushwick Film Festival in New York City, a rare ocasion for a Baltic movie. It is a fictionalized version of the author's own story as an openly-gay artist living in Lithuania.
Despite being a loud voice against Russian expanding military agression, the country is the only member of the European Union that tries to adopt a so-called 'anti-gay propaganda' legislation, a replica from a well-known Russian law. By doing so, Lithuania loses a chance to really distance itself from the oppressive Russian regime, Zabarauskas warns. "This is such a strange thinking! When we talk about our problems, that's exactly how we are different from the Russian situation, because in Russia there is no freedom of speech, and it's dangerous, life threatening, to fight for your human rights. That's exactly where we are different – it's not that we don't have those problems, it's that we can talk about those problems, we can try to solve them. And I think we should value it very much!" a filmmaker says.
Zabarauskas is a part of small, but growing group of queer artists who push for civil rights equality with provoking art. Additionally, he has published a book profiling gay Lithuanians. Gathering dozens of stories of queer people in a country of less than three million would not be possible few years ago, Zabarauskas says by pointing out moderate progress with growing acceptance of LGBT people in the Baltics.
"I am a true believer in a societal change. I believe it has to come from the society itself, from people themselves. Lithuanian ruling elites try to supress LGBT people and keep having the worst record on the civil rights equality in the European Union, Romas Zabarauskas, a Lithuanian filmmaker tells Hromadske. His recent movie 'You Can't Escape Lithuania' was nominated as the best narrative feature at the Bushwick Film Festival in New York City, a rare ocasion for a Baltic movie. It is a fictionalized version of the author's own story as an openly-gay artist living in Lithuania.
Despite being a loud voice against Russian expanding military agression, the country is the only member of the European Union that tries to adopt a so-called 'anti-gay propaganda' legislation, a replica from a well-known Russian law. By doing so, Lithuania loses a chance to really distance itself from the oppressive Russian regime, Zabarauskas warns. "This is such a strange thinking! When we talk about our problems, that's exactly how we are different from the Russian situation, because in Russia there is no freedom of speech, and it's dangerous, life threatening, to fight for your human rights. That's exactly where we are different – it's not that we don't have those problems, it's that we can talk about those problems, we can try to solve them. And I think we should value it very much!" a filmmaker says.
Zabarauskas is a part of small, but growing group of queer artists who push for civil rights equality with provoking art. Additionally, he has published a book profiling gay Lithuanians. Gathering dozens of stories of queer people in a country of less than three million would not be possible few years ago, Zabarauskas says by pointing out moderate progress with growing acceptance of LGBT people in the Baltics.
"I am a true believer in a societal change. I believe it has to come from the society itself, from people themselves. Rodriguez, founder of Austin-based Troublemaker Studios, said that many of his innovations ushered original trends into the Hollywood mainstream. These included the push and acceptance of independent films in the 1990s, the rise and explosion of digital film around the new millennium, and the profitable return of the 3-D genre in the 2000s.
A large portion of Rodriguez's lecture centered on the filmmaker's new cable channel "El Rey," slated to premiere in January 2014 on Comcast, the nation's largest cable provider. When it airs, shows will be spoken in English but tailored to Latino audiences.
Rodriguez also said he wants the programming to be so good that the network attracts all audiences, and that "El Rey" is currently accepting pitches.
UT's RTF program was named in the top 25 film schools (#12) in the entire world by The Hollywood Reporter in August 2012.

Moody College of Communication and Department of Radio-Television-Film alumnus Robert Rodriguez visited the University of Texas at Austin campus on May 2, 2012 to host a conversation with students and inspire what he called, "the next generation of innovators."

Charles Ramirez-Berg, a university distinguished teaching professor in the RTF program, arranged the event in conjunction with the Center for Mexican-American Studies under the title, "The Future of Latino Images in Film and Media."
Rodriguez, founder of Austin-based Troublemaker Studios, said that many of his innovations ushered original trends into the Hollywood mainstream. These included the push and acceptance of independent films in the 1990s, the rise and explosion of digital film around the new millennium, and the profitable return of the 3-D genre in the 2000s.
A large portion of Rodriguez's lecture centered on the filmmaker's new cable channel "El Rey," slated to premiere in January 2014 on Comcast, the nation's largest cable provider. When it airs, shows will be spoken in English but tailored to Latino audiences.
Rodriguez also said he wants the programming to be so good that the network attracts all audiences, and that "El Rey" is currently accepting pitches.
UT's RTF program was named in the top 25 film schools (#12) in the entire world by The Hollywood Reporter in August 2012.
