Warner Communications Inc. was established in 1972 when Kinney National Company spun off its non-entertainment assets due to a financial scandal over its parking operations, and changed its name.
It was the parent company for Warner Bros. Pictures and Warner Music Group from 1972 to 1990. It also owned DC Comics and Mad magazine. Warner made (and later lost) considerable profits with Atari, Inc., which it owned from 1976 to 1984.
In 1979, Warner formed a joint venture with credit card company American Express, Warner-Amex Satellite Entertainment, which owned such cable channels as MTV, Nickelodeon, and The Movie Channel. Warner bought out American Express's half in 1984, and sold the venture a year later to Viacom, which renamed it MTV Networks.
In 1982, Warner purchased Popular Library from CBS Publications.
In 1987, it was announced that Warner Communications and Time Inc. were to merge, though it took two years for the merger to take place. Before the merger closed in 1989, Warner purchased Lorimar-Telepictures. In early 1990, the combined companies were named Time Warner.
Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. (commonly known as Warner Bros., Warners, or simply WB) is an American entertainment company that produces film, television and music entertainment. As one of the major film studios, it is a division of Time Warner, with its headquarters in Burbank, California. Warner Bros. has several subsidiary companies, including Warner Bros. Pictures, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Warner Bros. Television, Warner Bros. Animation, Warner Home Video, New Line Cinema, Castle Rock Entertainment, and DC Entertainment. Warner Bros. owns half of The CW Television Network.
The company's name originates from the four founding Warner brothers (born Wonskolaser or Wonsal before Anglicization):Harry (born Hirsz), Albert (born Aaron), Sam (born Szmul), and Jack (Itzhak, or to some sources, Jacob). They emigrated as small children with their parents to Canada from Krasnosielc which was located in the part of Congress Poland that had been subjugated to the Russian Empire following the eighteenth-century Partitions of Poland near present-day Ostrołęka.
Warner can refer to:

Orion Pictures Corporation is an American distribution company that produced and released films from 1978 until 1999, and was also involved in television production and syndication throughout the 1980s until the early 1990s. In 2013, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer revived the Orion name for television; a year later Orion Pictures was quietly relaunched by the studio. It was formed in 1978 as a joint venture between Warner Bros. and three former top-level executives of United Artists. Although it was never a large motion picture producer, Orion achieved a comparatively high reputation for Hollywood quality.Woody Allen, James Cameron, Jonathan Demme, Oliver Stone, and several other prominent directors worked with Orion during its most successful years from 1978 to 1992. Of the films distributed by Orion, four won Academy Awards for Best Picture: Amadeus (1984), Platoon (1986), Dances with Wolves (1990), and The Silence of the Lambs (1991). Only two other Orion films, Hannah and Her Sisters (1986) and Mississippi Burning (1988), were nominated for that same category.

New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman announces a lawsuit against Spectrum-Time Warner, claiming the company didn't deliver advertised internet speeds
Full explanation in the description. Okay so I decided that I was going to change my service from 300 Download & 20 Upload since that was a bit overkill for what I am currently doing. So I called Brighthouse aka Spectrum to see their new plans and offers. (1st Call) The sales rep told me about the 100D/10U plan which was perfect for what I wanted. But they told me my current modem was not coded to Brighthouse so I would need to change to a "Spectrum Modem which would cost $150. I explained I had a customer owned modem and I was going to switch to that to avoid the fee which the sales rep said was perfectly fine. (ATM) I didn't have the powercord for the modem so I had to call back later. (2nd Call) I talked to the sales rep and hooked up my modem. The rep asked why was I switching modem...

The score for Twin Peaks has received acclaim; The Guardian wrote that it «still marks the summit of TV soundtracks». In fall 1989, composer Angelo Badalamenti and Lynch created the score for the show. In 20 minutes they produced the signature theme for the series. Badalamenti called it the «Love Theme from Twin Peaks». Lynch told him, «You just wrote 75% of the score. It's the mood of the whole piece. It is Twin Peaks». While creating the score, Lynch often described the moods or emotions he wanted the music to evoke, and Badalamenti began to play the piano. In the scenes dominated by young men, they are accompanied by music that Badalamenti called Cool Jazz. The characters' masculinity was enhanced by finger-snapping, «cocktail-lounge electric piano, pulsing bass, and lightly brushed per...
