MY Dance
My dance is an homage to the history of Persian dance which flourished twice in our history once during the Hakhamaneshian (Achemanides) Dynasty, called court dance and later during Qajar Dynasty or harem dance due to their movements and characteristic of the dances. My Dance finishes with the movements from our folk dances which has been part of our nomadic life for centuries.

Villagers carrying black flags and bearing posters of the deceased president congregated in the main square reciting prayers.
Many were in tears as a tide of emotion swept the village.
Ghajar's 18-hundred residents belong to the Alawite tribe, the same tribe as Assad, and though the village is now in Israel, its members still consider themselves Syrian.
Ghajar was captured when Israel invaded the Golan Heights in 1967 and finally annexed with the rest of the region in 1981.
Its people have steadfastly refused to accept Israeli citizenship claiming that they want to remain Syrian and swore allegiance to Assad.

The fate of the village of Ghajar hangs in the balance after Israel withdrew from Lebanon last week.
Israel had taken Ghajar when it invaded Syria in 1967, but when it withdrew the village found itself in no man's land.
Residents in Ghajar then invited the Israelis back after they found themselves cut off from all sides.
Now the villagers don't know what country they are living in: they might be turned over to Lebanon, or they might be split between Lebanon and Syria.
Split loyalties are nothing new in Ghajar.
This village of 1,800 people may be cut in two by the United Nations after Israel withdrew from south Lebanon last week.
The present border is along a deep valley below the main street, which encircles the
outer perimeter of the village which puts the village outside Lebanon.
The people of Ghajar - Alawite Muslims like Syria's President Hafez Assad - say Ghajar was always a part of Syria, but some are also happy to call themselves Israeli citizens.
This has come about because of Israel's pledge to withdraw behind the Israeli Lebanese border that existed in 1923.
Israel says Ghajar belongs to Syria, and plans to keep it at least until an Israel-Syria peace treaty is negotiated.
Israel is determined to follow the old, sometimes forgotten border markings, blowing up their own military outposts that jutted a few metres across the border.
Life with Israel has been good to the people here.
Unlike many dusty, poor backwater Arab villages in Israel, Ghajar is a neat, clean, modern place.
Its impressive houses and smoothly paved streets, with a green, manicured soccer field that would do a team in Tel Aviv proud.
But the one place they're not is in Israel - it's either Lebanon or Syria.
Most of the villagers are positive they belong to Syria.

"Syria regards us as Syrian citizens. I have documents and maps from 1942. There's also a Turkish (Ottoman) land deed from 1893 when we belonged to the Qunetitra region (in Syria) and I don't understand how they are going to divide the village into two separate
parts."

With Israeli soldiers an on off presence over the years some villagers have taken jobs in Israel and taken on much of Israel's culture.
Others who have stayed behind are adamant that the village must not be split.

"I'm going to stay in my home, we're staying in the village and we'll all we can to prevent the division of the village. The village is all one unit. There are a lot of families. There may come about a situation in which I will live in one village and my sister live in another or I will live in one country and my sister live in another - it's not possible. I hope we will all stay in one village together and I hope eventually a peace agreement with Syria will happen and we'll return to live with our family all together."

An Israeli Cabinet Minister who met villagers this week told them their Israeli citizenship would make no difference to their fate, including whether Ghajar will be cut in half.

Ghajar
Ghajar (Arabic: غجر; Hebrew: ע'ג'ר or רג'ר) is an Arab village on the Hasbani River on the border between Lebanon and the Israeli-occupied portion of the Golan Heights, internationally considered to be de jure part of Syria. Its inhabitants are members of the Alawite community.
History
Early history
Control over Ghajar has changed hands many times. Three hundred years ago, the village was known as Taranjeh. It was renamed Ghajar under the rule of the Ottoman Empire, when the land was allegedly seized from the "villagers" by Kurds and forcibly sold. According to "local" legend, the Kurdish governor of Ghajar tried to ride his horse onto the tomb of a local holy man, Sheikh al-Arba'in. The horse refused and the following day a fire broke out, destroying the governor's shield and sword. The Kurds fled and quickly sold it back.

The fate of the village of Ghajar hangs in the balance after Israel withdrew from Lebanon last week.
Israel had taken Ghajar when it invaded Syria in 1967, but when it withdrew the village found itself in no man's land.
Residents in Ghajar then invited the Israelis back after they found themselves cut off from all sides.
Now the villagers don't know what country they are living in: they might be turned over to Lebanon, or they might be split between Lebanon and Syria.
Split loyalties are nothing new in Ghajar.
This village of 1,800 people may be cut in two by the United Nations after Israel withdrew from south Lebanon last week.
The present border is along a deep valley below the main street, which encircles the
outer perimeter of the village which puts the village outside Lebanon.
The people of Ghajar - Alawite Muslims like Syria's President Hafez Assad - say Ghajar was always a part of Syria, but some are also happy to call themselves Israeli citizens.

The lamb adobo was excellent, and I especially enjoyed the sinigang made with ripe guava and bangus fish. Food was really good, highly recommended.

From my experience, I have learned that in this way, the Holy Land becomes more than just history, and that the large stones that we see scattered about in dissaray, join together one by one until they become - a Byzantine Church. This also happens when I lead a group of Pilgrims in the Steps of Jesus. We climb to the peak of Mount Precipice, "glide" over the land to the Sea of Galilee, land on the water and "see" the miracle which enfolds before us. This is a many faceted experience. Not only history which you will remember and cherish, but an experience which I hope will be inplanted in your hearts and minds, and will accompany you all the days of your life.

Bekhradi Historical House
This 400-year-old inn built in Persia's Safavid era features four tastefully decorated multiroomed guest suites and is the oldest house to be restored in Iran.
Its renovation and artistic restoration took local interior designer and restoration specialist Morteza Bekhradi five years to engineer and complete.
Peppered with stained-glass windows and original artwork from the Safavid and subsequent Qajar eras, the house sits between two gardens replete with fruits and wildflowers.
Soltaniyeh Dome
A UNESCO World Heritage site in the northwestern province of Zanjan, the mausoleum of Oljaytu at Soltaniyeh is topped by one of the world's largest domes.
Built between 1302 and 1312 in Soltaniyeh, the capital city of the Mongols' Ilkhanid Dynasty, the monument is a mausoleum for Il-khan Oljeitu, the Ilkhanid's eighth ruler.
Though much of the structure's exterior coloring and tiles have faded through the centuries, the intricate brickwork, tilework and vibrant designs inside the mausoleum have remained largely unscathed.
Laleh Kandovan Rocky Hotel
About 30 miles outside the northwestern city of Tabriz lies the troglodyte village of Kandovan.
People here live in cone-shaped caves cut out of volcanic rock at the foot of Mount Sahand, a dormant volcano.
Nestled within the 800-year-old village, the Laleh Kandovan Rocky Hotel has been literally hand-carved into the rocky landscape, with each of the luxury hotel's 16 modernized rooms encompassing a cave, or "karaan."

He died in 1431, having founded a Darvish order which continues to be an active spiritual force today. The central domed burial vault at Mahan, completed in 1437 was erected by Ahmad Shah Bahmani, king of the Deccan, and one of Shah Nematallah's most devoted disciples.

The garden is a fine example of Persian gardens that take advantage of suitable natural climate.
The garden was built originally for Mohammad Hasan Khan Qajar Sardari Iravani ca.1850 and was extended ca.1870 by Abdolhamid Mirza Naserodollehand during the eleven years of his governorship in the Qajar dynasty. As an example, Tehran University and Iran's Cultural Heritage Organization have teamed up with France's CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) to carry out archeological studies in Yazd province as part of a project aiming at preparing archeological plans of the area from the Mesolithic era.[3]
During the invasion of Genghis Khan in the early 13th century, Yazd became a safehaven and home for many artists, intellectuals, and scientists fleeing their war ravaged cities across Persia.
Yazd was visited by Marco Polo in 1272 A.D, who described it as a good and noble city and remarked its silk production industry. Isolated from any approach by a huge tract of monotonous desert, the vibrancy of Yard often comes as a surprise.
Although more often described as the entrance to a now non-existent bazaar, the chief function of this building known as a Tekyeh, and the square before it, was to host the Ta'ziyeh, a cycle of passion plays commemorating the martyrdom of Husayn ibn Ali, which takes place once a year during the mourning month of Moharram. The site dates from the fifteenth century amid the efforts of its eponymous builder, Amir Jalal Al-Din Chakhmagh, governor of Yazd.
For a brief period, Yazd was the capital of Atabakan and Mozaffarid dynasties. During the Qajar Dynasty (18th Century A.D.) it was ruled by the Bakhtiari Khans.
Amidst the immense surrounding desert, Yazd retains elements of its old religion, traditions, and architecture, which is recognized by UNESCO for its architectural heritage[4]. In 2004, the Majles allocated funds to help restore historical sites in Yazd inorder to nominate Yazd as a Cultural Heritage city by UNESCO.[5]
The word Yazd means feast and worship. The city of Yazd has resisted the modern urbanization changes and has so far maintained its traditional structure. The geographical features of this region have prompted residents to develop special architectural styles. For this reason, in the older part of the city most houses are built of adobe and have domed roofs (gonbad). These materials serve as an excellent insulation preventing heat from passing through.

During hot summers many people would spend some time in Malayer to enjoy the "Horse and Buggy" ride and rest at the park.
