A Fazenda

A Fazenda (Portuguese pronunciation: [a fɐˈzẽdɐ], English: The Farm) is the current Brazilian version of the The Farm reality television show based on the Swedish television series of the same name that was originally created in 2001 by Strix and produced in association with Sony Entertainment and Endemol. The series premiered on May 31, 2009 on Rede Record.

The show is based on a group of celebrities living together twenty-four hours a day in a Farm (located in Itu, São Paulo, Brazil), isolated from the outside world (primarily from mass media, such as newspapers, telephones, television and the internet) while having all their steps followed by cameras around-the-clock, with no privacy for three months.

The contestants compete for the chance to win the grand prize by avoiding weekly eviction, until the last celebrity remains at the end of the season that can claim the grand prize.

The show is presented by news reporter Britto Junior alongside Chris Couto (from seasons 1–5) and Juliana Camargo (since season 6) and directed by Rodrigo Carelli. Since 2010, the subscription-based live feeds are available directly through R7.com. In order to preserve the drama for television broadcasts, Rede Record does not webcast certain moments that transpire in the house, including weekly competitions. Slanderous statements and singing of copyrighted music are also blocked for legal reasons.

A Fazenda 6

A Fazenda 6 was the sixth season of the Brazilian reality television series A Fazenda, which began June 23, 2013, with the season finale airing September 29, 2013 on the Record television network.

This season is part of a millionaire contract signed in 2011 between Strix Television and Record which guaranteed the show's rights until 2019.A Fazenda 6 was officially confirmed on August 29, 2012, during the season finale of A Fazenda 5.

Britto Junior reprised his hosting stints for the show. Cris Couto was replaced by journalist Juliana Camargo (from Fazenda de Verão) as the sponsored competitions host. Gianne Albertoni made her debut as the show's social media correspondent, replacing Celso Cavallini.

The grand prize for the winner was R$2 million without tax allowances, with a brand new car offered to the runner up. Model Bárbara Evans won the competition over parliamentary adviser & lawyer Denise Rocha and actor Marcos Oliver with 54.87% of the final vote.

Production

Overview

Pre-production started in February 2013. Record began casting for A Fazenda 6 once filming for Fazenda de Verão (Summer Farm) was completed.

A Fazenda 8

A Fazenda 8 (in English: The Farm 8) is the eighth season of the Brazilian reality television series A Fazenda, which premiered September 23, 2015, on the Record television network. This season is part of a millionaire contract signed in 2011 between Strix Television and Rede Record which guaranteed the show's rights until 2019.

This season marks the debut of Roberto Justus hosting the show, replacing Britto Junior, who hosted the previous seven seasons. Gianne Albertoni returns as the show's social media correspondent on A Fazenda Online and events of sponsorship and bonuses are hosted by Bruna Calmon. The grand prize for the winner is R$2 million without tax allowances, with a brand new car offered to the runner-up.

Twists

The teams

The teams Rabbit, Sheep and Ostrich (present on the seasons 3, 4, 6 and 7) became extinct and were replaced by two teams (Axe and Saw).

The stall

In this new season, the barn was replaced by the stall. Every week, three contestants will have to share space with the horses and sleep beside the animals.
