Gustave Samazeuilh, né à Bordeaux le 2 juin 1877 et mort à Paris le 4 août 1967, est un compositeur et critique musical français.

Branko Ružić (Slavonski Brod, 4. mart 1919 — Zagreb, 27. novembar 1997) je bio jugoslovenski i hrvatski vajar i slikar.
Rođen je 4. marta 1919. godine u Slavonskom Brodu. U Vinkovcima je završio srednju školu, a u Zagrebu diplomirao na Akademiji likovnih umetnosti, 1944. godine, u klasi vajara Frane Kršinića. Godine 1948, na istoj je akademiji završio slikarstvo. Putovao je i stvarao po Italiji, Francuskoj i Ujedinjenom Kraljevstvu.
Od 1961. do 1985. godine, bio je profesor na Akademiji likovnih umetnosti. Od 1993. godine, učestvovao je u pripremama za otvaranje galerije „Ružić i savremenici“ u Slavonskom Brodu.
Dobitnik je petnaestak nagrada, od kojih su neke Nagrada opštine Rovinj (1967, 1972), Nagrada grada Zagreba (1968) i Republička nagrada za životno delo „Vladimir Nazor“ (1986).

Felix the Cat is a funny animal cartoon character created in the silent film era. The anthropomorphic black cat with his black body, white eyes, and giant grin, coupled with the surrealism of the situations in which his cartoons place him, combine to make Felix one of the most recognized cartoon characters in film history. Felix was the first character from animation to attain a level of popularity sufficient to draw movie audiences.
Felix's origins remain disputed. Australian cartoonist/film entrepreneur Pat Sullivan, owner of the Felix character, claimed during his lifetime to be its creator. American animator Otto Messmer, Sullivan's lead animator, has been credited as such.What is certain is that Felix emerged from Sullivan's studio, and cartoons featuring the character enjoyed success and popularity in 1920s popular culture. Aside from the animated shorts, Felix starred in a comic strip (drawn by Sullivan, Messmer and later Joe Oliolo) beginning in 1923.

The Red Summer refers to the summer and early autumn of 1919, which was marked by hundreds of deaths and higher casualties across the United States, as a result of race riots that occurred in more than three dozen cities and one rural county. In most instances, whites attacked African Americans. In some cases many blacks fought back, notably in Chicago.
The Chicago race riot of 1919 was a major racial conflict that began in Chicago, Illinois on July 27, 1919 and ended on August 3. During the riot, thirty-eight people died (23 African American and 15 white) and over five hundred were injured. It is considered the worst of the approximately 25 riots during the Red Summer. The combination of prolonged arson, looting, and murder was the worst race rioting in the history of Illinois.

The Red Summer refers to the summer and early autumn of 1919, which was marked by hundreds of deaths and higher casualties across the United States, as a result of race riots that occurred in more than three dozen cities and one rural county. In most instances, whites attacked African Americans. In some cases many blacks fought back, notably in Chicago.
The Chicago race riot of 1919 was a major racial conflict that began in Chicago, Illinois on July 27, 1919 and ended on August 3. During the riot, thirty-eight people died (23 African American and 15 white) and over five hundred were injured. It is considered the worst of the approximately 25 riots during the Red Summer. The combination of prolonged arson, looting, and murder was the worst race rioting in the history of Illinois.

Margaret Olwen MacMillan, CC (born 23 December 1943) is a Canadian historian and professor at the University of Oxford, where she is Warden of St Antony's College. She is former provost of Trinity College and professor of history at the University of Toronto and previously at Ryerson University. A leading expert on history and international relations, MacMillan is a commentator in the media. She is a great-granddaughter of former British Prime Minister David Lloyd George.
Margaret MacMillan was born to Dr. Robert MacMillan and Eluned Carey Evans. Her maternal grandfather was Dr. Thomas John Carey Evans of the Indian Medical Service. The senior Evans served as personal physician to Rufus Isaacs, 1st Marquess of Reading during the latter's term as Viceroy of India (1921–1926). Her maternal grandmother, Olwen Elizabeth Lloyd George, was a daughter of David Lloyd George, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and his first wife Margaret Owen.[2][3] MacMillan's sister Ann served as the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC)'s London correspondent for almost 40 years, retiring in 2013;[4] Ann is married to British journalist Peter Snow, making Margaret the aunt of historian Dan Snow.
MacMillan received an Honours B.A. in history from the University of Toronto (attending Trinity College, where she would later become Provost 2002-2007) and a B.Phil. in Politics and D.Phil. (1974) at Oxford University (attending St Hilda's College and later St Antony's College, where she became Warden in 2007[1]). Her doctoral dissertation was on the social and political perspectives of the British in India. From 1975 to 2002, she was a professor of history at Ryerson University in Toronto, including five years as department chair.[5] She is the author of Women of the Raj, a selection of the "History Book Club". In addition to numerous articles and reviews on a variety of Canadian and world affairs, MacMillan has co-edited books dealing with Canada's international relations, including with NATO, and with Canadian-Australian relations.
From 1995 to 2003, MacMillan co-edited the International Journal, published by the Canadian Institute of International Affairs. Since 1995, she has served as a member of the National Board of Directors of the CIIA. She was the Young Memorial Visitor at Royal Military College of Canada in 2004 and delivered the J.D. Young Memorial Lecture on November 24, 2004.[6]
MacMillan's research has focused on the British Empire in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and on international relations in the 20th century. Over the course of her career, she has taught a range of courses on the history of international relations. She sits on the European Advisory Board of Princeton University Press[7] and the Advisory Board of the Institute for Historical Justice and Reconciliation.
Her most successful work is Peacemakers: The Paris Peace Conference of 1919 and Its Attempt to End War, also published as Paris 1919: Six Months That Changed the World. Peacemakers won the Duff Cooper Prize for outstanding literary work in the field of history, biography or politics; the Hessell-Tiltman Prize for History; the prestigious Samuel Johnson Prize for the best work of non-fiction published in the United Kingdom and the 2003 Governor General's Literary Award in Canada. MacMillan has served on the boards of the Canadian Institute for International Affairs, the Atlantic Council of Canada, the Ontario Heritage Foundation, Historica and the Churchill Society for the Advancement of Parliamentary Democracy (Canada). She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, an Honorary Fellow of St Antony's College, Oxford and a Senior Fellow of Massey College, University of Toronto. (1)中國要求索回德國強佔的山東半島主權，但英、法、意主張將德國的利益轉送給日本，美國提出暫交英法意美日五國共管，遭日本拒絕。
(2)中國代表團向和會提出兩項提案：取消帝國主義在華特權；
(3)取消日本強迫中國承認的《二十一條》，收回山東權益；
但提案被否決。巴黎和會引起中國人民抗議，爆發五四運動。
當時中國代表團成員有五個全權代表，
其中有
(a)擔任團長的外交總長陸徵祥、
(b) 駐美公使顧維鈞、
(c)南方政府代表王正廷、
(d)駐英公使施肇基、
(e)駐比公使魏宸祖。
中國代表最終沒在1919年的[巴黎和會}上簽字。
整體評價:
巴黎和會初期原本充滿對和平的樂觀期待，首次參加歐戰的美國帶來威爾遜總統的十四點和平原則，一時頗受歡迎。
然而威爾遜的理想主義觀點迅速被戰勝各國劃分勢力範圍和報復的企圖所壓倒 。
所謂反戰、民族自決等原則皆無法實施。
美國雖簽署條約卻未能經過國會批准，使美國沒有參加國際聯盟，外交政策走入孤立主義。
而合約對戰敗國德國的苛刻的勒索，也埋下了復仇的種子，法國元帥福煦事後評論說：「這不是和平，這是二十年休戰。」
