Cop dead after intense standoff - Un policier du SPVM mort à Longueuil

Hier après-midi débutait un long processus de négociations entre les policiers du SPAL et un enquêteur du SPVM en détresse à sa résidence de la rue Arsène près de l'intersection Faucher à Longueuil. Un appel a été logé au 911 vers 14h samedi donnant l'information qu'un policier armé de son arme de service s'était enfermé chez lui possiblement dans un état suicidaire. Les policiers sont arrivé sur scène et ont immédiatement dégainé et se sont mit en joue cachés derrière des autos patrouille. Les négociations ont alors débuté et un négociateur a été en contact au téléphone avec l'homme à l'intérieur. Après plusieurs heures l'équipe tactique du GI est arrivé en renfort avec des armes automatiques et des boucliers de protection. Vers environ minuit le forcenné aurait tiré une balle en sa direction ce qui a mit un terme à l'opération. Un périmêtre est érigé et les enquêteurs de différents corps policiers sont présentement sur scène. First cops to arrive on scene did drawn their weapon and were hiding behind police cruisers in the streets of a residential neighborhood. Negotiations started and a negotiator was in direct contact through the phone with the man inside. After a few hours the GI tactical police team arrived heavily armed with M16 and shields. At about midnight the victim apparently put a term to the incident by killing himself with a single bullet.
