Meteorology for Astronomers: CBS4 Denver's Justin McHeffey

The Denver Astronomical Society (DAS) promotes the enjoyment and understanding of astronomical phenomena, history and lore by providing educational and observing opportunities for our members, education to the general public, and outreach activities at the University of Denver's Historic Chamberlin Observatory, schools, and nature centers. Presented by Justin McHeffey, CBS4 Denver for The Denver Astronomical Society Perhaps more than any other Earth-bound activity, astronomical observing and imaging depends on great weather. (You can still have a picnic or a wedding on a cloudy day or night.) Although Mr. McHeffey probably won't be able to explain why it's always cloudy on Open House nights ;^) he might be able to explain how to read weather forecasts and how to predict when clouds will form or clear, why the sky's been so hazy lately, and why nighttime winds nearly always blow from the southwest at our Dark Site.
