Christopher Showerman
Christopher Showerman (born June 24, 1971) is an American film and television actor, best known for his role as George in George of the Jungle 2.
Biography
Born and raised in Michigan, Showerman embarked on an acting career after attending Michigan State University, where he majored in music. After small roles in several studio feature films, including Starship Troopers (1997) and Best in Show (2002), Showerman was cast in the lead in the independent movie Dumped (2000). His big break came in 2003 when he was cast to replace Brendan Fraser as George of the Jungle in Disney's George of the Jungle 2.
Career
Showerman has also appeared in such films as Sea of Fear, Idol, Live Fast, Die Young, Complacent and Big Game. His most recent credits include Hole in One, A Night at the Silent Movie Theater, Commander and Chief and Radio America, which he also wrote, produced and directed. On television, he has appeared on Jack of All Trades, The OC, and CSI Miami.

George of the Jungle 2
George of the Jungle 2 is the 2003 direct-to-video sequel of the 1997 Disney film George of the Jungle. It was directed by David Grossman, written by Jordan Moffet, and stars Thomas Haden Church, Julie Benz, Christina Pickles, Angus T. Jones, Michael Clarke Duncan, John Cleese, and introducing Christopher Showerman as "George". The movie focuses on George trying to save Ape Mountain from his evil nemesis Lyle (Thomas Haden Church). The sequel was widely panned.
Plot
Five years after socialite Ursula Stanhope left civilization to marry George of the Jungle, George finds himself hard-pressed to fulfill the roles of jungle king, father, and husband. George's stress level increases when the "Mean Lion" challenges him for leadership of the jungle, and when Ursula's mother Beatrice teams up with Ursula's ex-fiancé, Lyle, in a plot to forcibly take away all that George holds most dear.
To do this, Beatrice invites Ursula, George, and George Junior to visit Las Vegas, which they accept. Throughout the visit, Beatrice and some of Ursula's fellow socialites try constantly to convince Ursula that George is unworthy of her affection. George, observing the threats but not his wife's resistance, begins to think himself unworthy of Ursula.

George of the Jungle
George of the Jungle is an American animated series produced by Jay Ward and Bill Scott, who created The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show. The character George was inspired by the story of Tarzan and a cartoon characterization of George Eiferman (Mr. America, Mr. Universe, IFBB Hall of Famer) drawn by a cook on his mine sweeper in the Navy during WW2. It ran for 17 episodes on Sunday mornings from September 9 to December 30, 1967, on the American TV network ABC. The half-hour program was distributed for many years by Worldvision Enterprises, currently part of CBS Television Distribution.
Program format
Each episode featured three segments in the form of three unrelated cartoons: George of the Jungle, Tom Slick, and Super Chicken. Each of the cartoons ended with a strike on the Tympani (Kettledrum), which changed to an ascending tone, following a bad pun.
Unlike previous Ward series, the animation production was done in Hollywood using veteran animators Phil Duncan, Rod Scribner, and Rudy Zamora, among others. Each segment's theme song was written by the team of Stan Worth and Sheldon Allman, though the cartoons themselves had little or no music scoring, as with Bullwinkle. Ward mainstays Bill Scott, June Foray, Paul Frees, and Daws Butler provided most of the character voices over all three segments.

Several literary works published in 1584 make reference to characters in these dramas. William Warner’s euphuistic novel Syrinx references Lyly’s Diogenes from Campaspe as the “Sinopian cynic,” alludes to an Athenian misanthrope, “or man-hater biting on the stage,” and to Apollo’s “coy prophetess,” Cassandra. In his sonnets Shake-speare reveals that he is embroiled in a ‘vulgar scandal’ that has made him ‘a motley to the view’ and a ‘disgrace in men’s eyes.’ This paper asks in whose eyes was he disgraced and what was the nature of his offence? It shows how evidence of this long-buried affair is still recoverable from existing sources and presents a fraction of it by way of introduction to an intriguing and under-researched aspect of Shakespearean biography. Robert Greene’s 1584 euphuistic novel, Gwydonius: The Card of Fancy, was dedicated to the Earl of Oxford. Greene alludes to Timon in two passages, to a number of Trojan War characters including Troilus, Cressida, Agamemnon and Ulysses, and to Diogenes, Appelles, and Alexander, major characters from Lyly’s Campaspe. Gwydonius also contains passages of paternal advice that echo Lord Burghley’s Certain Precepts for the Well Ordering of a Man’s Life, early manuscripts of which were dated to 1584. William Warner accused Robert Greene of having plagiarized Syrinx in a later edition of his novel.
Interpretations of Shakespeare’s Timon of Athens and Troilus and Cressida as allegorical satires reflecting the Earl of Oxford’s personal and political persuasions circa 1584 provide a radical departure from traditional scholarship. A decade of prodigal excess, his long exile from court, the death of his first-born son, and the collapse of his fortunes in 1583-84 provide a plausible motive driving Oxford to employ the conventions of Aristophanic political satire in writing Timon. The moral wasteland of war and conflict of factions reflected in Troilus and Cressida arguably presents a critical satire of members of the Elizabethan court in the run-up to war with Spain.

Earl Showerman graduated from Harvard College and the University of Michigan Medical School, and practiced emergency medicine in Oregon for over thirty years. A longtime patron of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, after retiring from medicine in 2003, he enrolled at Southern Oregon University to study Shakespeare and begin his research on the authorship question. Over the past decade Earl has presented a series of papers at conferences and published on the topic of Shakespeare’s Greek dramatic sources and his remarkable medical acumen. Earl is the executive producer of Mignarda’s recording, My Lord of Oxenford’s Maske, and contributed the chapter on Shakespeare’s medical knowledge in Shakespeare Beyond Doubt? – Exposing an Industry in Denial. He is an associate of the Shakespearean Authorship Trust and past president of the Shakespeare Fellowship.

In his sonnets Shake-speare reveals that he is embroiled in a ‘vulgar scandal’ that has made him ‘a motley to the view’ and a ‘disgrace in men’s eyes.’ This paper asks in whose eyes was he disgraced and what was the nature of his offence? It shows how evidence of this long-buried affair is still recoverable from existing sources and presents a fraction of it by way of introduction to an intriguing and under-researched aspect of Shakespearean biography.

While the task of selecting a reader required the bishop to hear reports of the candidate's reputation for honest living and a presentation in a public ceremony, a singer who was often charged to voice the same divine words but in song could be admitted without any references or any codified rite of induction. Yet arrangements were increasingly made to school singers in the great metropolitan churches of the West, as will be demonstrated.
