Hey guys, this time I’m continuing my companion guide series with Deacon, whose probably my favorite companion in Fallout 4. In this video we’ll discuss how to get Deacon, what his SPECIAL stats look like, how to max out his affinity, and the effectiveness of his companion perk. First let’s take a look at Deacon’s background. It’s hard to go into detail on his past without dropping some serious spoilers, so I’m going to be brief. Deacon is a spy for the Railroad, which of course is the underground undercover operation that seeks to save synths from Institute slavery. Before the Sole Survivor even meets the Railroad, Deacon can actually be found spying on the player in several locations. He can be found when you first meet Piper to get into Diamond City, in Goodneighbor, and in Bunker Hill in various disguises. Enjoy!

Prior to contacting the Railroad, you may come across Deacon working incognito in some major settlements (Diamond City, Goodneighbor, Bunker Hill). He offers some amusing dialog if prompted. As it happens, he was spying on you, even before you left Vault 111.

Deacon
Deacon is a ministry in the Christian Church that is generally associated with service of some kind, but which varies among theological and denominational traditions. In many traditions the "diaconate" (or deaconate), the term for a deacon's office, is a clerical office; in others it is for laity.
The word "deacon" is derived from the Greek word diákonos (διάκονος), which is a standard ancient Greek word meaning "servant", "waiting-man", "minister", or "messenger". One commonly promulgated speculation as to its etymology is that it literally means "through the dust", referring to the dust raised by the busy servant or messenger.
The title "deaconess" (διακόνισσα) is not found in the Bible. However, a woman, Phoebe, is mentioned at Romans 16:1–2 as a deacon (diakonos) of the church in Cenchreae. Nothing more specific is said about her duties or authority. It is generally believed that the office of deacon originated in the selection of seven men by the apostles, among them Stephen, to assist with the charitable work of the early church as recorded in Acts 6. Female deacons are mentioned by Pliny the Younger in a letter to Trajan dated c. 112. The exact relationship between male and female deacons varies. In some traditions a female deacon is simply a member of the order of deacons; in others, deaconesses constitute a separate order; in others, the title "deaconess" was also given to the wife of a deacon.

Plot: A priest from the Vatican is sent to Sao Paulo, Brazil to investigate the appearance of the face of the Virgin Mary on the side of a building. While there he hears of a statue of the Virgin Mary bleeding tears in a small town outside of the city. Meanwhile, a young woman in the U.S. begins to show signs of stigmata, the wounds of Christ. The priest from the Vatican links up with her and cares for her as she is increasingly afflicted by the stigmata.
