Question I get all the time, is HomeAway and VRBO a good site to list my vacation property with. This is the best video on my experience with VRBO and HomeAway as my main marketing for our rental company.
Short answer...YES! I love VRBO, it drives me so much traffic, but you have to set it up right or you'll find yourself at the bottom and very few clicks. It's a lot like Google, only the top and most outstanding get the business.

Clarification on the numbers: With the gold subscription and global bundle, price is $1448. If I average 20 reservations, that's $72 per reservation. (Plus I promote them bringing my price to VRBO up more). My last service fee on an inquiry was $154, I mistakenly said $170 in the video. For a total in fees and subscriptions of $226 on that reservation. If you can buy promoted social less expensive for a reservation you will save money by not using VRBO. I will be running tests up to my renewal and make a decision. What if owners could turn off the "book it now" online booking platform of VRBO. Would VRBO still charge a service fee? Probably, but here I am (as an owner) trying to turn it off. Why? Owners and myself alike do not agree with VRBO charging service fees to our travelers. Please book it directly and not through VRBO (if you can). Now, VRBO has made it quite clear that we, the owners, have the choice of turning it off and thus that will not stop VRBO from getting the additional service fee from the guests, however please watch happens when we choose to do so. When an owner chooses to not allow VRBO and Homeaway and even Vacation Rentals (.com) the access to charging service fees to guests watch what happens in this video. Owners are TRYING to stop VRBO from charging the ridiculous service fees, but we need help. Share with your friends. Thank you for viewing.

What if owners could turn off the "book it now" online booking platform of VRBO. Would VRBO still charge a service fee? Probably, but here I am (as an owner) trying to turn it off. Why? Owners and myself alike do not agree with VRBO charging service fees to our travelers. Please book it directly and not through VRBO (if you can). Now, VRBO has made it quite clear that we, the owners, have the choice of turning it off and thus that will not stop VRBO from getting the additional service fee from the guests, however please watch happens when we choose to do so. When an owner chooses to not allow VRBO and Homeaway and even Vacation Rentals (.com) the access to charging service fees to guests watch what happens in this video. Owners are TRYING to stop VRBO from charging the ridiculous service fees, but we need help. Share with your friends. Thank you for viewing.
