Daniel Negreanu (/nᵻˈɡrɑːnoʊ/; born July 26, 1974) is a Canadian professional poker player who has won six World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelets and two World Poker Tour (WPT) championship titles. The independent poker ranking service Global Poker Index (GPI) has recognised Negreanu as the best poker player of the past decade.
Since his second place in the Big One For One Drop 2014 tournament, he is the biggest live tournament poker winner of all time, having accumulated over $30,600,000 in prize money. He was named the WSOP Player of the Year in 2004 and again in 2013, making him the first (and only) player in WSOP history to win the accolade more than once. He was also the 2004-05 WPT Player of the Year. He is the first player to make a final table at each of the three WSOP bracelet-awarding locations (Las Vegas, Europe, and Asia-Pacific) and the first to win a bracelet at each. In 2014, he was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame.
Negreanu was born in Toronto, Ontario in 1974, seven years after his parents, Annie and Constantin, emigrated from Romania. The Negreanu's had hoped to start a new life in the United States, but ended up settling in Toronto, where Constantin worked as an electrician and sold confectionery. Daniel is five years younger than his brother Mike. Even at an early age Negreanu was extremely ambitious, stating in a 2009 interview "From the age of four, I thought I’d be rich. I told my mom I’d build a house out of Popsicle sticks, and move to California."
Thomas Dwan Jr. (born July 30, 1986) is an American professional poker player who played online in the highest-stakes No-Limit Texas hold 'em and Pot-Limit Omaha games, primarily on Full Tilt Poker under the screen name "durrrr". Dwan has won prize money in live poker tournaments and has appeared on NBC's National Heads-Up Poker Championship, the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh seasons of Poker After Dark, the third, fourth and fifth seasons of Full Tilt Poker's Million Dollar Cash Game, and the fifth and sixth seasons of GSN's High Stakes Poker.
Dwan attended Boston College before dropping out to pursue poker full-time.
Dwan began playing online poker with a $50 bankroll. He initially focused on sit-and-go tournaments, later switching to multiplayer cash games then to heads-up cash games.
According to HighStakesDB.com, a site that tracks high-stakes online poker, Dwan earned $312,800 in 2007 on Full Tilt Poker and $5.41 million in 2008. Before the 2007 World Series of Poker, Dwan claimed to have lost, at the time, $2 million of his $3 million bankroll, over a four-month period. He recovered from this loss within a year. In January 2009, Dwan lost more than $3.5 million, which he recovered after six months. However, from late October to late December 2009, Dwan suffered his then-largest downswing, losing approximately $2 million to Phil Ivey, Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies and $5 million to Viktor Blom.

Daniel Negreanu isn't just playing for the money. He's all about the titles and legacy. As it stands, he has six WSOP (World Series of Poker) bracelets and two WPT (World Poker Tour) titles. He's a very familiar face on shows like High Stakes Poker and Poker After Dark. As a Poker Stars pro, he can often be found at the EPT (European Poker Tour), and PCA (PokerStars Carribean Adventure). He also was featured in the 2016 World Series of Poker Main Event. In this edition of Poker Hands Negreanu faces off against Doug Polk in the richest tournament ever conceived. With over $37 million in the pool, both players have bought in for $1,000,000, and every chip counts. The Big One For One Drop is not your average WSOP (World Series of Poker) event. Imagine that you're heads up in the 2016 World Series of Poker Main event. Your opponent is Qui Nguyen, an aggressive gambler in a raccoon hat. He is the only thing standing between you and the $8,000,000 first place prize, not to mention the platinum bracelet. When do you take a stand and decide that you'll no longer be pushed around? This is exactly the predicament that Gordon Vayo finds himself in as the November Nine whittles down to the final two players. He appears to be crumbling under the pressure, as if the man sitting opposite him is Phil Ivey or Daniel Negreanu. Can Vayo find it within himself to stop getting punked, or will he check his privilege and throw the hand away? As always, Doug Polk breaks down each street of action. Poker Hands is the show where Doug analyzes live p...

Half-assed review of some Polks.
Rubber band, you're like a rubber band-
You keep on snapping back at me,
so this is jealousy.
Hollow vase, you are a hollow vase,
and when you talk to yourself
you hear an answer back.
What type of world are you living in?
What type of sweet thing
would make the medicine better?
What type of world are you waiting for?
You give me one of those headaches
one drink won't take away.
Learning how to hate.
Rumour true, rumour false-
It's all the same to you
on cloud cockoo.
And every mistake that I've ever made
comes back to haunt me,
my own fools gallery.
What type of world are you living in?
What type of sweet thing
would make the medicine better?
What kind of world are you waiting for?
You give me one of those headaches
one drink won't take away.
Learning how to hate.
Our clam chowder comes without the powder-
It doesn't happen here,
this is a nice place.
