Jamshedpur is the most populous urban agglomeration in the Indian state of Jharkhand. Jamshedpur is the headquarters of the East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand. According to the 2011 census of India, East Singhbhum (Jamshedpur & Seraikela-Kharsawan) district has current population of 1,337,131; the Jamshedpur urban agglomeration (UA), which includes the adjoining areas, Jamshedpur Urban Area is the third Largest place in Eastern India. It is located on the Chota Nagpur plateau and is surrounded by the picturesque Dalma Hills. The city is bordered by the rivers Subarnarekha and Kharkai on the north and west parts of the city. Jamshedpur has been predicted as the 84th fastest growing city in the world for the timeframe 2006–2020 with average annual growth of 2.59%.
In 1919 Lord Chelmsford named the city, which was early a village called Sakchi, to Jamshedpur in honour of its founder, Jamsetji Tata, whose birthday is celebrated on 3 March as Founder's Day. J. N. Tata had written to his son Dorabji Tata about his vision of a great city in the area. On Founders Day, the 225-acre (0.91 km2) Jubilee Park is decorated with brilliant light work for about a week.
The city has several nicknames, including "Industrial capital of Jharkhand" (spontaneous among native youngsters); "Steel City" (which was referenced during Tata Steel's "Green City—Clean City—Steel City" campaign); "Tatanagar" after the name of its railway station or simply "Tata" in deference to the presence of Tata companies. At one time it was also known as "Kalimati" (meaning "Land of Goddess Kali") after the village near the Sakchi area. Sakchi was renamed to Jamshedpur in 1919. The only trace of the name is the main road through Sakchi area of Jamshedpur which is named Kalimati Road.

Curfew was clamped in many parts of Jamshedpur following communal clashes. Authorities imposed curfew with immediate effect which will remain in force till further orders in Jamshedpur and peripheral areas, East Singhbhum district Deputy Commissioner Amitabh Kaushal and Senior Superintendent of Police Anup T Mathew told a press conference here. All schools will remain closed on Wednesday. Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das appealed for peace. Chief Minister also ordered an inquiry into the clash. Six FIRs were lodged during the last 24 hours after the clash broke out between two groups at Mango police station area over the incident.
जमशेदपुर में हिंसक झड़प के बाद शहर भर में धारा-144 लागू है. छेड़खानी की घटना के विरोध में भड़के इस उग्र विरोध-प्रदर्शन को देखते हुए शहर में चप्पे-चप्पे पर सुरक्षाबलों के जवानों को तैनात किया गया है. सोमवार की रात एक बाइक पर सवार तीन युवक मानगो गांधी मैदान से तेज रफ्तार से हाथ में पिस्तौल व चाकू लेकर दाइगुट्टू की ओर जा रहे थे. रास्ते में उन्होंने युवतियों से बदसलूकी भी की. आरोपियों की गिरफ्तारी की मांग को लेकर दाईगुट्टू चौक पर इलाके के युवकों ने रात करीब 9.45 बजे सड़क जाम कर दिया लेकिन दूसरे पक्ष के युवक विरोध करते हुए जाम हटाने को कहने लगे.इसी बात पर मारपीट शुरू हो गई. दोनों ओर से पथराव में एक दर्जन से ज्यादा लोग घायल हो गए. प्रदर्शनकारियों ने मंगलवार को भी जमकर उत्पात किया. कई वाहनों को क्षतिग्रस्त कर दिया

Ratan Tata
Ratan Naval Tata GBE (born 28 December 1937) is an Indian businessman, investor, philanthropist and chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons. He was the chairman of Tata Group, a Mumbai-based conglomerate from 1991–2012. He stepped down as the chairman of Tata Group, on 28 December 2012 but continues as the chairman of the Group's charitable trusts.
Early life
Ratan Tata is the son of Naval Tata, who had been adopted from the family of a distant relative by Navajbai Tata after the death of her husband, Ratanji Tata. Ratan Tata's parents Naval and Sonoo separated in the mid-1940s when Ratan was ten and his younger brother, Jimmy, was seven years old. Both he and his brother were raised by their grandmother Navajbai Tata. Ratan also has a step brother Noel Tata from Naval Tata's second marriage to Simone Tata.Ratan began his schooling in Mumbai at the Campion School and finished his secondary education at the Cathedral and John Connon School. He completed his B.S. in architecture with structural engineering from Cornell University in 1962, and the Advanced Management Program from Harvard Business School in 1975. Tata is a member of the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity.

According to the 2011 census of India, East Singhbhum (Jamshedpur & Seraikela-Kharsawan) district has current population of 1,337,131; the Jamshedpur urban agglomeration (UA), which includes the adjoining areas, Jamshedpur Urban Area is the third Largest place in Eastern India. It is located on the Chota Nagpur plateau and is surrounded by the picturesque Dalma Hills. The city is bordered by the rivers Subarnarekha and Kharkai on the north and west parts of the city. Jamshedpur has been predicted as the 84th fastest growing city in the world for the timeframe 2006–2020 with average annual growth of 2.59%.
In 1919 Lord Chelmsford named the city, which was early a village called Sakchi, to Jamshedpur in honour of its founder, Jamsetji Tata, whose birthday is celebrated on 3 March as Founder's Day. J. N. Tata had written to his son Dorabji Tata about his vision of a great city in the area. On Founders Day, the 225-acre (0.91 km2) Jubilee Park is decorated with brilliant light work for about a week.
The city has several nicknames, including "Industrial capital of Jharkhand" (spontaneous among native youngsters); "Steel City" (which was referenced during Tata Steel's "Green City—Clean City—Steel City" campaign); "Tatanagar" after the name of its railway station or simply "Tata" in deference to the presence of Tata companies. At one time it was also known as "Kalimati" (meaning "Land of Goddess Kali") after the village near the Sakchi area. Sakchi was renamed to Jamshedpur in 1919. The only trace of the name is the main road through Sakchi area of Jamshedpur which is named Kalimati Road.

Authorities imposed curfew with immediate effect which will remain in force till further orders in Jamshedpur and peripheral areas, East Singhbhum district Deputy Commissioner Amitabh Kaushal and Senior Superintendent of Police Anup T Mathew told a press conference here. All schools will remain closed on Wednesday. Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das appealed for peace. Chief Minister also ordered an inquiry into the clash. Six FIRs were lodged during the last 24 hours after the clash broke out between two groups at Mango police station area over the incident.

Jonha Falls in very famous water falls in Ranchi. Jonha falls is on river Kanchi,falling from a massive height of 144ft, it's a beautiful waterfall. It has 3 main streams. It's situated at around 5km from the Jonha fall diversion on Ranchi to Silli Road,first comes Jonha Falls, in 5km,then on that way,Sita Falls is 3.5km more far from Jonha. If you have your own vehicle,you can first visit Jonha,then Sita falls,on the same way.
During rainy season,when Jonha becomes more furiours with water,Sita falls becomes more beautiful with the greenish plants around the hill.
