David Robert Jones (8 January 1947 – 10 January 2016), known as David Bowie (/ˈboʊ.i/), was an English singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, painter, and actor. He was a figure in popular music for over five decades, and was considered by critics and musicians as an innovator, particularly for his work in the 1970s. His career was marked by reinvention and visual presentation, and his music and stagecraft significantly impacted popular music. During his lifetime, he sold an estimated 140 million records worldwide. In the UK, he was awarded nine platinum album certifications, eleven gold and eight silver, and released eleven number-one albums. In the US, he received five platinum and seven gold certifications. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996.

For centuries people have speculated about the possibility of life on Mars due to the planet's proximity and similarity to Earth. Although there has been much speculation, to date there has never been any proof of life existing on Mars. However, cumulative evidence is now building that Mars once was habitable.
Serious searches for evidence of life began in the 19th century, and they continue today via telescopic investigations and landed missions. While early work focused on phenomenology and bordered on fantasy, modern scientific inquiry has emphasized the search for water, chemical biosignatures in the soil and rocks at the planet's surface, and biomarker gases in the atmosphere.
Mars is of particular interest for the study of the origins of life because of its similarity to the early Earth. This is especially so since Mars has a cold climate and lacks plate tectonics or continental drift, so it has remained almost unchanged since the end of the Hesperian period. At least two thirds of Mars's surface is more than 3.5 billion years old, and Mars may thus hold the best record of the prebiotic conditions leading to abiogenesis, even if life does not or has never existed there. It remains an open question whether life currently exists on Mars or has existed there in the past, and fictional Martians have been a recurring feature of popular entertainment of the 20th and 21st centuries.
David (/ˈdeɪvɪd/; Hebrew: דָּוִד, Modern David, Tiberian Dāwîḏ;ISO 259-3 Dawid; Arabic: داوُد Dāwūd; Syriac: ܕܘܝܕ Dawid; Ancient Greek: Δαυίδ; Latin: Davidus, David; Strong's: Daveed) was, according to the Books of Samuel, the second king of the United Kingdom of Israel, and according to the New Testament, an ancestor of Jesus. His life is conventionally dated to c. 1040 – 970 BCE, his reign over Judah c. 1010–970 BCE.
The Books of Samuel, 1 Kings, and 1 Chronicles are the only Old Testament sources of information on David, although the Tel Dan Stele (dated c. 850–835 BCE) contains the phrase בית דוד (bytdwd), read as "House of David", which many scholars confirm to be a likely plausible match to the existence in the mid-9th century BCE of a Judean royal dynasty called the House of David.
Depicted as a valorous warrior of great renown, and a poet and musician credited for composing much of the psalms contained in the Book of Psalms, King David is widely viewed as a righteous and effective king in battle and civil justice. He is described as a man after God's own heart in 1 Samuel 13:14 and Acts 13:22.

David Bowie interview with Kerry O'Brien on Australian TV program "7.30 Report" broadcast in 2004. Re-broadcast on TV program "Rage" on 15 January 2016 as part of a tribute to David Bowie. RIP.
Talk with Michael Parkinson and as second guest Tom Hanks. Bowie performs "Everyone says "HI"" from the album "Heathen" and "Life on Mars" in the show. About the song "Life on Mars" and the link to Frank Sinatra: When released as a single in 1973, it reached number three in the UK and stayed on the chart for thirteen weeks. In 2015 Neil McCormick, chief rock music critic of "The Daily Telegraph", ranked it as number one in his "100 Greatest Songs of All Time" list. In 1968 Bowie wrote the lyrics "Even a Fool Learns to Love", set to the music of a 1967 French song "Comme d'habitude", composed by Claude François and Jacques Revaux. Bowie's version was never released, but Paul Anka bought the rights to the original French version, and rewrote it into "My Way", the song made famous by Frank Si...
After a total of 74 concerts, David Bowie's Diamond Dogs/Philly Dogs Soul Tour closed in Atlanta on 1st December 1974. three days later on the 4th December, Dick Cavett's Wide World Of Entertainment screened this pre-recorded appearance of David Bowie that had been taped in New York on 2nd November while Bowie was there for his Radio City Music Hall shows. During the Dick Cavett Show, Bowie and his band gave excellent performances of '1984', 'Young Americans' and 'Footstompin'. Another song 'Can You Hear Me?' was not televised, due to broadcast time limitations. During the interview with Cavett, Bowie's exhausted physical and mental state was all too painfully obvious. He fended off Cavett's questions with hostile and garbled answers, whilst at the same time flirting and pouting his lips...
bowie in the woods
Bowie's in space
Bowie's in space
Whatcha doin' out there, man?
That's pretty freaky, Bowie. (Ooh Bowie!)
Isn't it cold out in space, Bowie?
Do you want to borrow my jumper, Bowie?
Does the space cold make your nipples go pointy, Bowie?
Do you use your pointy nipples as telescopic antennae to transmit data back to Earth?
I bet you do you freaky old bastard you
Do you have one really funky sequined space suit, Bowie,
Or do you have several ch-changes?
Do they smoke grass out in space man, or do they smoke Astroturf? (Ooh!)
*Spoken*
Receiving transmission from David Bowie's nipple antennae! Do you read me, Lieutenant Bowie? I said do you read me?
Lieutenant Bowie?
This is Bowie to Bowie, do you hear me out there man?
This is Bowie back to Bowie I read you loud and clear, man.
Oooh yeah man!
Your signal is weak on my radar screen. How far out are you man?
I'm pretty far out
That's pretty far out man
I'm orbiting Pluto!
Drawn in by its grooveatational (grooveatational) pull
I'm jamming out with the Mick Jaggernauts
And they think it's pretty cool, man.
Are you ok Bowie? What was that sound?
I don't know man, I'll have to turn my ship around.
Ooh it's the craziest thing
Yeah, I'm picking it up on my LSD screen.
Can you see the stratosphere, ringing?
To the choir of Afronauts singing
Bowie's in space! Bowie. Bowie. Bowie. Bowie. Bowie. Bowie.
Bowie's in space! Bowie. Bowie. Bowie. Bowie. Bowie. Bowie.
Eeniee e ma ma meenie miny moey
