Love Is... is the name of a comic strip created by New Zealand cartoonist Kim Casali (née Grove) in the 1960s. The cartoons originated from a series of love notes that Grove drew for her future husband, Roberto Casali. They were published in booklets in the late 1960s before appearing in strip form in a newspaper in 1970, under the pen name "Kim". They were syndicated soon after and the strip is syndicated worldwide today by Tribune Media Services. One of her most famous drawings, "Love Is...being able to say you are sorry", published on February 9, 1972, was marketed internationally for many years in print, on cards and on souvenirs. The beginning of the strip coincided closely with the 1970 film Love Story. The film's signature line is "Love means never having to say you're sorry." At the height of their popularity in the 1970s the cartoons were earning Casali £4-5 million annually.
Roberto Casali was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 1975 and Kim stopped working on the cartoon to spend more time with him. Casali commissioned London-based British cartoonist Bill Asprey to take over the writing and drawing of the daily cartoons for her, under her pen name. Asprey has produced the cartoon continuously since 1975. Upon her death in 1997, Casali's son Stefano took over Minikim, the company which handles the intellectual rights.
Love Is may refer to:
"Love Is..." is a song by avant-garde band King Missile. It was the only single from the band's 1994 album King Missile.
In "Love Is...," a dirge-like track with elements of doom metal, frontman John S. Hall dryly recites several examples of what love is ("beautiful / Like birds that sing") and is not ("ugly / Like rats / In a puddle of vomit"). The chorus consists of Hall ominously chanting, "Love is beautiful."
The "Love Is..." maxi-single was intended for promotional use only, and not supposed to be sold; nonetheless, copies are sometimes available in "used" sections of record stores, because some people who received the maxi-single sold it anyway.
All lyrics by Hall. All music by Roger Murdock, Dave Rick, and Chris Xefos.
Love Is All is a Swedish five-piece indie pop band from Gothenburg, Sweden. It releases songs in English. Paste Magazine has stated that it makes "infectiously lo-fi punk rock laced with saxophone and melodic vocals".
Swedish band Love Is All are composed of Josephine Olausson (vocals, keyboard), Johan Lindwall (bass), Markus Görsch (drums), James Ausfahrt (saxophone), and Nicholaus Sparding (guitar/vocals). Olausson, Sparding, and Görsch had previously been members of Girlfrendo. The trio promptly regrouped after that band's demise and added Lindwall, who had recorded in a side project with Olausson and Sparding called Cat Skills. They finally added the missing piece with saxophone player Fredrik Eriksson. While earning many rave reviews from the blogging community for their blend of art punk and indie rock, the band released several singles, one of which made single of the week in NME. The singles were collected on the debut LP Nine Times That Same Song, released by New York-based What's Your Rupture? in late 2005. After much touring through 2006 and 2007, Eriksson left the band and Love Is All continued on as a quartet. A Hundred Things Keep Me Up at Night and the remix album Love Is All Mixed Up arrived in 2008, along with Eriksson's replacement Åke Strömer (saxophone, keyboards). They are currently signed to Polyvinyl Record Co..
Crash! Boom! Bang! is Roxette's fifth studio album, released on 9 April 1994.
Though highly successful in Europe and South America, the album was badly marketed by EMI in the United States. A shorter version of the album was made available a few months earlier, as a special deal at the McDonald's restaurant chain, called Favorites from Crash! Boom! Bang!. The Japanese version includes the track "Almost Unreal", which was taken from the 1993 film Super Mario Bros.. However the song was titled "It's Almost Unreal" for unknown reasons. In the UK a vinyl version of the album was also released, despite CDs taking over as the mainstream format.
"Sleeping in My Car", "Crash! Boom! Bang!", "Fireworks", "Run to You" and "Vulnerable" were released as singles. "Sleeping in My Car" became the duo's final chart success in Australia, quickly debuting at #24, and then slipping down the chart just as quickly.
All songs published by Jimmy Fun Music, except "Go to Sleep" (Jimmy Fun Music/Shock the Music).
Love Is All is a documentary film exploring the depiction of love and courtship on film throughout the 20th century. It is composed of archive material from the BFI National Archive, Yorkshire Film Archive and other sources.
The film is directed by Kim Longinotto with an original soundtrack composed by Sheffield singer/songwriter Richard Hawley, formerly of Pulp. Hawley wrote new material for the film and contributed existing tracks.
From cinema’s very first kisses, through the disruption of war to the birth of youth culture, gay liberation and free love, the film follows courting couples flirting at tea dances, kissing in the back of the movies, couples living together and fighting for the right to love. The archive footage covers same-sex relationships, sexism, interracial relationships and sexual liberation.
"Graham Relton at the Yorkshire Film Archive was amazing," said Kim Longinotto. "I had a long conversation with him about the film and then a couple of weeks later he sent us an absolute feast of archive that was exactly what we needed. The clips he sent us were often very personal and affectionate and had been filmed by the families themselves. They were like early home movies but they were beautifully made. Jan Faull found so many unexpected gems in the BFI Archive for us too. One of my favorite moments is a little girl in a village school being crowned May Queen. Also Piccadilly is an amazing film. It stars Anna May Wong who I’d never even heard of. She is spectacular and the acting is mostly very understated and truthful."
"Love Is All..." is a song by the Danish dance-pop duo Infernal. It was announced to be the lead single off their forthcoming fifth studio album, Fall from Grace, on 4 April 2010 in a blog post by Paw Lagermann in Infernal's website. The song was released as a digital download on 10 May 2010 and debuted at #6 on the Danish Singles Chart on 22 May 2010. It has since been certified gold by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) for sales of 15,000 units. On 27 April 2012, Infernal released a new version of "Love Is All..." for the international market.
The music video was directed by Jakob Øllgaard and produced by Klaus Christensen for M2FILM.

I'm going home, first thing tomorrow I'm going home, first thing tomorrow No matter what it costs, no matter what it costs I say I'm going home, home On the first morning train I'm going home, I'm going home For too long I have lived in want and sorrow Too long I've existed on begging and borrows And now I want my own, my very very own That's why I'm going home, home On the first morning train I'm going home, I'm going home
