In Norse religion, Asgard (Old Norse: ''Ásgarðr''; "Enclosure of the Æsir") is one of the Nine Worlds and home to the Æsir tribe of gods. It is surrounded by an incomplete wall attributed to a Hrimthurs riding the stallion Svaðilfari, according to Gylfaginning. Odin and his wife, Frigg, are the rulers of Asgard.
One of Asgard's well known locations is Valhöll (Valhalla), in which Odin rules.
The primary sources regarding Asgard come from the Prose Edda, written in the 13th century by Icelandic Snorri Sturluson, and the Poetic Edda, compiled in the 13th century from a basis of much older Skaldic poetry.
Völuspá, the first poem of the work, mentions many of the features and characters of Asgard portrayed by Snorri, such as Yggdrasil and Iðavöllr.
The Prose Edda presents two views regarding Asgard.
In the Prologue Snorri offers an euhemerized and Christian-influenced interpretation of the myths and tales of his forefathers. As-gard, he conjectures, is the home of the Æsir (singular Ás) in As-ia, making a folk etymological connection between the three "As-"; that is, the Æsir were "men of Asia", not gods, who moved from Asia to the north and some of which intermarried with the peoples already there. Snorri's interpretation of the 13th century foreshadows 20th-century views of Indo-European migration from the east.

Tales from the Norse Legends by Edward Ferrie (Author), Benjamin Soames (Narrator) The tales of the Norse gods, of the giants, demons, trolls and dwarves, still have the power to fascinate more than a thousand years after they were first told. Here are the stories of the one-eyed god Odin, the all-seeing, who from his throne in Asgard the home of the gods, has to prepare for Ragnarok, the final conflict between good and evil. There are tales too of Tyr the god of war, of the cunning Loki, of Thor the mighty thunder god and a host of others. These retellings of the old tales are given extra dramatic perspective by the music of Mahler, Greig, Smetana, They come to life as never before.

Norsemen hearts belong to you
Ancient God of war
You have created a sacred world
In ASGARD is your throne
Time has come to praise the God
Crazy beings were living here
In superstitious fear
Angry Gods would ever cause
Pestilence or war
Time has come to praise it has come
Do it over and over again
Praise him for the upcoming war
You won't feel astray
He's got power in his hand
So cry aloud his name
ODIN used to overlook
From the exalted throne
Gazed towards south and west
The goal of all the hopes
Time has come to praise it has come
Do it over and over again
Praise him for the upcoming war
You won't feel astray
He's got power in his hand
So cry aloud his name
Asgard protects the warriors
Asgard shelter of Gods
Evil grew among the Gods
Holy Sagrad fault
Noone praise it started now
The twilight of the Gods
Time has come to praise it has come
Do it over and over again
Praise him for the upcoming war
You won't feel astray
He's got power in his hand
So cry aloud his name
Asgard protects the warriors
