Legend (Lynyrd Skynyrd album)

Legend was a posthumous compilation album of unreleased material by American Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd, which contained previously unreleased demos from the albums before the 1977 plane crash. However, the vast majority of tracks on Legend are now available on other albums. The album was certified Gold on 7/27/2001 by the RIAA.

Legend is the debut album of the Christian rock band of the same name. After this recording, the band changed the name to Legend Seven when they became aware of another band with the same name. It was released in 1992 under the Word Records label.

Legend (film score)

Legend: The Music of Jerry Goldsmith is a musical film score by American composer Jerry Goldsmith, released in 1986 for the worldwide release of the film of the same name, (excluding the US). The album was released on compact disc in 1992 through Silva Screen records and featured alternate cover art and additional songs.

Background

Goldsmith's score was featured in the original version of the film, but due to a disappointing test screening with the original orchestral score, director Ridley Scott decided to make changes to the film. Sidney Sheinberg, president of MCA (the parent company of Universal at the time), felt that the Goldsmith score would not appeal to the youth and pressed Scott for a new score. German group Tangerine Dream was contracted to complete a new, more contemporary score—-a job they completed in three weeks. Until 2002, only European audiences could see Legend with Goldsmith's score.

A Head Full of Dreams

A Head Full of Dreams is the seventh studio album by British rock band Coldplay. It was released on 4 December 2015 by Parlophone and Atlantic Records, with a markedly different style and sound from its predecessors. It is the second album by the band in North America on Atlantic, after Coldplay were transferred from Capitol Records America in 2013. For various songs on the album Coldplay collaborated with Beyoncé, Noel Gallagher, Tove Lo, Khatia Buniatishvili and Merry Clayton. The album was produced by Rik Simpson and Stargate. Coldplay have also revealed that the album features a sample of the U.S. President Barack Obama singing "Amazing Grace" at Clementa C. Pinckney's funeral on the track "Kaleidoscope".

The album received generally positive reviews from critics. It became the band's first album not to debut at number one in the UK after being held off the top spot by Adele's 25, however it topped the chart on 12 February 2016 following exposure from the band's Super Bowl 50 appearance.

Kaleidoscope (UK radio series)

Kaleidoscope was a BBC Radio 4 arts programme which began in 1973. It ended with the major schedule changes that occurred in April 1998, when it was replaced by Front Row.

History

When originally launched on 9 April 1973, in a re-organisation of the schedules, it was intended to cover the arts and sciences in equal measure, but soon dropped its science coverage. The Radio 4 controller was Tony Whitby.

Schedules

It started out being broadcast from 10.30pm until 11pm each weekday night. It was initially followed by fifteen minutes of Today in Parliament. Early presenters were alternately Kenneth Robinson and Brian J. Ford. It ran in a variety of slots over the years, including mid-evening, in the lead up to the 10pm news (allowing it to include live reviews of first nights) and in mid-afternoon (the latter starting out as a repeat of the previous night's edition). It was broadcast from Monday to Friday, finishing in the late 1990s from 4.15pm until 5pm. A reprise of the highlights was broadcast on Saturday afternoons as Kaleidoscope Omnibus.

Kaleidoscope (programming language)

The Kaleidoscope programming language is a constraint programming language embedding constraints into an imperative object-oriented language. It adds keywords always, once, and assert..during (formerly while..assert) to make statements about relational invariants. Objects have constraint constructors, which are not methods, to enforce the meanings of user-defined datatypes.

There are three versions of Kaleidoscope which show an evolution from declarative to an increasingly imperative style. Differences between them are as follows.
