After 42 days Ambareesh Came to Bangalore Kempegowda International Airport on 11th April 2014. Travelling on the same flight Chitraloka editor K M Veeresh had the first EXCLUSIVE interview at the airport
The prestigious Kempegowda award function concluded today with over a hundred recipients being felicitated by the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah himself.
The grand ceremony organised at the glass house in Vidhan Soudha began with the traditional lighting of the lamp and a recital of the state anthem.
Following this, the chief minister in the presence of Mayor D Venkatesh Murty, Commisioner Laxman Narayan and other guests of repute, went on to felicitate 101 achievers from different walks of life.
Each of the awardees were given a statuette of the legendary founder of Bengaluru city-Kempegowda and a sum of 15 thousand rupees.
Amongst the recipients of the awards were Cricketer Venkatesh Prasad ... media heavyweights Vasant Nadiger and Laxminarayana ... literary luminary G.R. Chennabasappa ... social service veteran Dr B. Ramegowda ... Bank janardhan and Biradar from the film ferternity and noted musician RK Padmanabh.
The ceremony marked the end of a two-day-long celebration marking the 503rd Kempegowda anniversary. Namma chief minister took the opportunity to address some of the prevalent problems within the state and also promised to resolve the problem in a swift and efficient manner

It is as impressive as the shots he captures of waterfalls and verdant fields. Arun Sagar's artwork is excellent. The outdoor shrine of Anjaneya, recasting a village in Mandya as the one in AP and the props in the song Hale Radio, are commendable.
Newcomer Vishwa shows ample talent in editing. So do the duo of Anil and Shreekanth in dialogue writing. Kempe Gowda has nothing to do with the founder of Bangalore though he is remembered in a song. Sudeep is transferred to the Magadi Road police station in the film.

Kempe Gowda I
Hiriya Kempe Gowda, well known as Kempe Gowda I, was a feudatory ruler under the Vijayanagara Empire. The city of Bengaluru (Bangalore) itself was established by Kempe Gowda in 1537, as the capital of his erstwhile kingdom. He is considered to be the founder of Bengaluru, currently the capital of the Indian state of Karnataka.
Kempe Gowda was one of the well educated and successful rulers of his time. Being a successor of Kempananje Gowda, descendants of Gowda lineage started as Yelahankanadu Prabhus (ruler of Yelhankanadu).The Yelahankanadu Prabhus were Gowdas or tillers of the land. They belonged to the hosadevru sect of the Vokkaliga community ; the ancestors of them were migrants. Fourth in succession from Rana Bhairave Gowda, founder of the dynasty of Avati Nadu Prabhus and great grandson of Jaya Gowda, who established separate dynasty, is the famous Yelahanka Nadu Prabhus, Kempe Gowda I who ruled for 46 years commencing his reign from 1513. Jaya Gowda accepted the sovereignty of the Vijayanagar emperor. He later left Yelankanadu and was successful in planning and building Bengaluru Fort and Bengaluru Pete, the origins of the current city of Bengaluru. He is also noted for his societal reforms and contribution to building temples and water reservoirs in Bengaluru.

Kempe Gowda is a sub-inspector in a dusty village of Rona in Hubli, his native, where he is adored. Armugam, a notorious criminal, is brought down to his knees at the local police station. Their egos clash and Armugam, who has never had to face an opposition before, decides to teach Gowda a lesson. He is transferred to Bangalore, where Amugam's writ runs large. As the cop begins to unearth Armugam's misdeeds, he realises that he is up against a real challenge. This kalla-police saga is one that is full of ferocious dialogues and gravity-defying stunts.
Even the love story between Sudeep and Ragini(kavya) lightens the mood in between. Ashok, Girish Karnad and Thara add the family emotions to this narrative. Surprisingly, it is the comedy track of Sharan that pales in comparison. When it comes to acting, Sudeep and Ravi Shankar compete with each other. The casting of the other actors, with a few dialogues, is almost perfect. Thara as Ragini's mother is just an example.
Arjun comes up with some good songs, but it is his background score that gives the film an extra zing. This is Krishna's first film as cinematographer in an action genre. It is as impressive as the shots he captures of waterfalls and verdant fields. Arun Sagar's artwork is excellent.
