Burke's Law was an American detective series that ran on ABC from 1963 to 1965 and was revived on CBS in the 1990s. The show starred Gene Barry as Amos Burke, millionaire captain of Los Angeles police homicide division, who was chauffeured around to solve crimes in his 1962 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II. Though the original series was converted from a detective show to a spy drama in its third and final season, the revived series was again a cop show. The Rolls-Royce used in the original 1963–1965 series still exists, and is owned by a collector in Palm Beach, Florida.
There were stylistic similarities to Barry's previous series, Bat Masterson, in which he had played the debonair lawman of the old west. During the opening credits, as the title flashed onscreen, a woman's voice was heard seductively pronouncing the words "It's Burke's Law!" The title also reflected Burke's habit of dispensing wisdom to his underlings in a professorial manner, e.g.: "Never ask a question unless you already know the answer. Burke's Law."
Burke's Backyard is an Australian gardening and lifestyle programme presented by horticulturist Don Burke, broadcast on both radio and television. On television, it was a regular weekly series on the Nine Network from 1987 to 2004.
The program began on the Sydney AM radio station 2UE on Saturday and Sunday mornings before being picked up by the Nine Network in late 1987. Channel 9 broadcast the show on Friday evenings for the next 17 years. It is currently being broadcast on radio by 2UE and syndicated stations on Saturday and Sunday mornings. A magazine of the same name as the television program was published as a merchandising tie-in by Australian Consolidated Press. Don Burke went on to join Jamie Durie in creating the television show Backyard Blitz.
The show is hosted by Don Burke but also includes other presenters. The cooking segment was presented by Geoff Jansz, who also hosted the Channel Nine cooking show Fresh. Tara Dennis coordinated the fabrics and design section, while Rebecca Harris coordinated the pet section as she also did in her own Nine series Animal Hospital. Harris sometimes appeared also on the design and fabric segments. Scott Cam assisted Don as the building, gardening and design expert for more than half the program's duration. Other cast members include The Great Outdoors reporter Ernie Dingo, Jackie French, Elise Pascoe and Rosemary Stanton.
Burke’s Peerage is foremost a genealogical publisher, which first published books authored and edited by John Burke in London in 1826, recording the genealogy and heraldry of the peerage, baronetage, knightage and landed gentry of the United Kingdom, the historical families of Ireland as well as those of the Commonwealth of Nations, the Imperial, royal and mediatised families of Europe and Latin America, the presidential and distinguished families of the United States, the ruling families of Africa and the Middle East and other prominent families worldwide. Burke’s Peerage has expanded to provide broader genealogical publications (including online) maintaining its premium brand name.
Burke’s Peerage has provided authoritative genealogical records of historical families for more than 190 years. Its records were originally compiled by members of the Burke family and added to by others to build a unique collection of books of genealogical and heraldic interest.
Honey West is a fictional character created by Gloria and Forest Fickling under the pseudonym "G.G. Fickling", and appearing in eleven mystery novels by the duo.
The character is notable as being one of the first female private detectives in popular fiction. She first appeared in the 1957 book This Girl for Hire and would appear in nine novels before being retired in the mid-60s, with two comeback novels in 1971.
The Honey West character was created by Gloria and Forrest E. "Skip" Fickling under the pseudonym "G.G. Fickling" in the late 1950s.
Forrest Fickling had been a United States Army Air Forces Air Gunner during World War II; he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve after the war, and as a member of that service was called back to active duty during the Korean War. The G.G. represented the initials of his wife, Gloria Gautraud, whom he had married in 1949. The initials were used so the sex of the author would remain vague. Though Gloria said that most of the writing was done by Forrest, he said her ideas helped make the female character more plausible and gave her a good dress sense. Gloria had been an assistant fashion editor at Look magazine and a fashion writer for Women's Wear Daily. Forrest told the Los Angeles Times, "I first thought of Marilyn Monroe, and then I thought of [fictional detective] Mike Hammer and decided to put the two together... We thought the most used name for someone you really like is Honey. And she lives in the West, so there was her name."

Burke's Backyard - Pollinating Rhododenron by hand.
A first of a series of videos based on the popular Channel 9 gardening series Burke's Backyard, hosted by Don Burke. This one is a basic all-around guide on how to create a "beaut" backyard complete with tips on planting, laying turf, sorting out shady spots, and setting up a bird aviary. The quality of this tape is a bit rubbish with vertical hold problems and a weak signal that dropped a fair few frames during capture, but it's still somewhat watchable. I do not own any of what is present in the video, that belongs to Channel 9 and any other parties responsible. I am only uploading this as I'm fairly sure Channel 9 aren't reissuing or selling this one again any time soon. This video also came with a booklet which basically repeated what was present in the video which I may scan at a l...

For your viewing pleasure is the two scenes Jayne Mansfield appeared in of Burke's Law, episode titled 'Who Killed Molly?' which aired on the 27th of March 1964. Jayne played the part of a stripper named Cleo who's pet python had just died. I always thought it was such a shame that they never did film a dance sequence with Jayne, you only see her walk off to perform her act. Although, it was television, so understandable why they did not.

The following address was given by His Eminence Raymond Cardinal Burke on 19 May 2017 at the fourth annual Rome Life Forum, which is organized by Voice of the Family.
Brent Burke has been found guilty of the murders of his estranged wife and her former mother-in-law. A military panel of seven returned its finding after deliberating for nearly three hours Tuesday at Fort Campbell. Deliberations began around 8:30 a.m. Central time after the panel members heard several days of testimony that the U.S. Army sergeant murdered Tracy Burke and Karen Comer. The bodies of Burke and Comer were discovered inside Comer's Rineyville home on September 11, 2007. In testimony that took place over the weekend, the Elizabethtown News-Enterprise reported that Burke's own son and stepson testified against him. The younger boy, who was just four years old at the time of the murders, said he saw his father in the house with a gun. The older boy, who was nine during the slay...

Moral Foundations of Politics (PLSC 118) Edmund Burke was an English politician who wrote his Reflections on the Revolution in France to express his disdain for the destructive havoc wrought by the French Revolution. As a traditionalist-conservative, he thinks about social change in a cautious and incremental way and characterizes the social contract as binding on those who are living, those who are dead, and those who are yet to be born. Studying the anti-Enlightenment differs from the study of the Enlightenment because traditional conservatives of the Burkean school reject the idea of formulating a theory upon which to base society. Their views can be more accurately characterized as attitudes or dispositions. Social change is possible, but it must reflect the thinking of "the man on ...

Everywhere poverty reigns on this ground
Struggles for existence are the daily round
Survival of the fittest is the order of the day
A little more time, the earning of the stray
No way, no way
Is that all you have to say?
Stand up, fight back,
So far and not further
This way is wrong,
It´s time for a new order
The little child, it´s hungry and it´s riled
Its mother gave it away at the first ray of this day
No way, no way
Is that all you have to say?
Stand up, fight back,
So far and not further
This way, is wrong,
It´s time for a new order
No way, no way
