Satinder Sartaaj

Satinder Sartaaj (Punjabi: ਸਤਿੰਦਰ ਸਰਤਾਜ), official name Satinderpal Singh Saini, is an Indian Punjabi singer, song writer, actor and poet. Born on 18 May 1982 (age 33), Hoshiarpur He gained fame with his hit song "Sai". Since then his popularity has seen a constant surge among the Punjabi diaspora with his shows being held in many countries across the world.

Early life and marriage

Satinder Sartaaj grew up in Bajrawar village of Hoshiarpur, Punjab. He did his schooling from the government schools in his village and the nearby villages Chabewal and Patti. He started performing on children's stages by the time he was in class 3. After that, he joined Government College, Hoshiarpur to complete his graduation in Music with Honours. He also joined Sangeet Visharad, a five-year diploma in classical music from Jalandhar. Satinder Sartaaj got married to Gauri, his long term love interest, on 9 December 2010 at the Taj Hotel in Chandigarh.

Education

Satinder Sartaaj is a rare singer who is highly qualified, having earned a Doctorate. While most folk singers and movie singers in India are not known for their educational qualifications, Sartaaj is one of the younger crop of singers who have gone through the rigours of formal education. He obtained a degree in Music from Government College, Hoshiarpur. Satinder Sartaaj concentrated on his sufiana musical career having done his M. Phil in Sufi music singing and later a PhD in Sufi singing (gayan) from Panjab University, Chandigarh. He also taught music at Panjab University. Satinder also completed a Certificate Course and Diploma in Persian language. It was in college, when he also started writing poetry and adopted his Takhallus (poetic name) Sartaaj. He got married on 9 December 2010.

Sajjan

Sajjan Lahore (Punjabi: روزنامہ سجن / ਰੁਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਸਜਣ) was a Punjabi newspaper published from Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. It was the first Punjabi daily newspaper to be published in Pakistan.

Its first issue appeared on 3 February 1989. It continued till 30 September 1990. It was discontinued after that because of financial constraints caused by a lack of advertising revenue from the government and the private sector. It was a venture of Punjabi Promotion Trust. Hussain Naqi was its managing editor, Qaisar Nazir Khawar was its deputy managing editor, whereas Zafrayab Ahmed was its editor. Zafaryab Ahmed died on 25 February 2006.

A number of Punjabi lovers worked in it voluntarily not only in editorial team but also in administrative setup.

Mystery meat navigation

Mystery meat navigation (also known as MMN) is a disparaging term coined in 1998 by Vincent Flanders, author and designer of the website Web Pages That Suck, to describe a web page where the destination of the link is not visible until the user points their cursor at it. Such interfaces lack a user-centered design, emphasizing aesthetic appearance, white space, and the concealment of relevant information over basic practicality and functionality.

The epithet "mystery meat" refers to the meat products often served in American public school cafeterias whose forms have been so thoroughly reprocessed that their exact types can no longer be identified by their appearances: like them, the methods of MMN are clear to the producer but baffling to the consumer.

Flanders originally and temporarily described the phenomenon as Saturnic navigation in reference to the Saturn Corporation, whose company website epitomized this phenomenon. Flanders writes, "The typical form of MMN is represented by menus composed of unrevealing icons that are replaced with explicative text only when the mouse cursor hovers over them".

Sripathi Panditaradhyula Balasubrahmanyam (Telugu: శ్రీపతి పండితారాధ్యుల బాలసుబ్రహ్మణ్యం pronunciation ; Hindi: श्रीपति पंडितराध्युला बालासुब्रमण्यम; born 4 June 1946) is an Indian film playback singer, actor, music director, voice actor and film producer. He is mostly referred to as S. P. B. or Balu. He has won the Guinness World Record for recording the highest number of songs. He won the National Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer six times and the Nandi Awards in Telugu cinema 25 times from the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

He has recorded over 40,000 songs in various Indian languages. He has won National Film Awards across four languages as well as a Filmfare Award, five South Filmfare Awards and numerous state awards from Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. He is a recipient of civilian awards such as Padmashri (2001) and Padma Bhushan (2011) from the government of India.
