Ah! My Goddess: The Movie (劇場版「ああっ女神さまっ」, Gekijōban "Aa! Megami-sama!") is a 2000 Japanese animated film directed by Hiroaki Gōda, written by Michiko Yokote and Yoshihiko Tomizawa, animated by Anime International Company and co-produced by Kodansha, Dentsu, Sega Enterprises, Pony Canyon, Nippon Shupan Hanbai, AIC, MOVIC and Shochiku, based on the manga of the same name by Kōsuke Fujishima. The film's theatrical release took place on October 21, 2000. It was also distributed by Shochiku in Japan. The film was licensed by Geneon Entertainment in the North America, MVM Films in the United Kingdom, and Madman Entertainment in Australia and New Zealand.
The story takes place during the third spring since Belldandy's arrival. Celestin, a former mentor of Belldandy, is released by Morgan Le Fay, and erases all memories of Keiichi from Belldandy to use her as a virus to hack the Yggdrasil computer in the heavens.
Morgan le Fay heads to the Lunar Prison on the moon and releases the seal. She is able to make contact with a small mask that reveals that they must unite for their common goal.
Oh My Goddess! (Japanese: ああっ女神さまっ, Hepburn: Aa! Megami-sama), or Ah! My Goddess! in some releases, is a Japanese seinen manga series written and illustrated by Kōsuke Fujishima. It has been serialized in Afternoon since September 1988; the individual chapters are being published in tankōbon by Kodansha, with the first released on August 23, 1989; the final volume of the manga series, volume 48, was released on July 23, 2014, marking nearly 26 years of publication. The series follows college sophomore Keiichi Morisato and the goddess Belldandy who moves in with him in a Buddhist temple; after Belldandy's sisters Urd and Skuld move in with them, they encounter gods, demons and other supernatural entities as Keiichi develops his relationship with Belldandy.
The chapters have been adapted into an original video animation produced by Anime International Company (AIC), and an anime series which aired from 2005 to 2006. Additionally, AIC has developed two OVAs and a film, and OLM, Inc. has also developed an anime series as well. The two original video animations (OVAs), which had not been broadcast, were released on a special DVD on December 23, 2005. In Region 1, the anime was licensed to Media Blasters. Six DVD compilations, containing all twenty-six episodes, were released by Media Blasters from September 27, 2005 and July 11, 2006. Each DVD contained four episodes, excluding the first two, which contained five each. A premium complete season box set was released on November 7, 2006; the regular set followed on November 27, 2007.MVM Films distributed the series in the United Kingdom, with the individual volumes released between February 5, 2007 and December 3, 2007 in six similar DVD compilations. The box set followed in July 7, 2008.Madman Entertainment distributed the series in Australia, with the six individual volumes released between July 26, 2006 and December 6, 2006. The DVD collection containing all 26 episodes was released on October 10, 2007.
Ah! My Goddess: Flights of Fancy, known in Japan as Ah! My Goddess: Everyone Has Wings (Sorezore no Tsubasa) is an anime television series directed by Hiroaki Gōda, animated by Anime International Company, and produced by Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS). The episodes of the series are based on the manga series Oh My Goddess!, written and illustrated by Kōsuke Fujishima. Like its predecessor, the anime does not follow the manga chronologically. The plot covers adventures of Keiichi Morisato and Belldandy in the aftermath of the Lord of Terror fiasco.
It began broadcasting on TBS on April 6, 2006 and concluded its run on September 14, 2006, picking up the story from where the series left off in season one. Season two concluded with episode twenty-two, although the Japanese and North American DVD releases include episodes twenty-three and twenty-four. It was released to DVD in Japan between July 2006 and February 2007 by Bandai Visual.Media Blasters, who released the first season, passed up on this season and it was licensed to ADV Films instead for $516,000 The English dub was produced by NYAV Post, who had produced the dub for the first season. ADV Films released the season on six DVD compilations, each containing four episodes, between May and March 2007. The rights were later transferred to Funimation, who released a boxed set on November 25, 2007.
