The Sinai Peninsula or simply Sinai (/ˈsaɪnaɪ/;Arabic: سيناء Sīnāʼ ; Egyptian Arabic: سينا Sīna, IPA: [ˈsiːnæ]; Hebrew: סיני Sinai) is a triangular peninsula in Egypt about 60,000 km2 (23,000 sq mi) in area. It is situated between the Mediterranean Sea to the north, and the Red Sea to the south, and is the only part of Egyptian territory located in Asia, as opposed to Africa, serving as a land bridge between two continents. The bulk of the peninsula is divided administratively into two of Egypt's 27 governorates (with three more straddling the Suez Canal area), and has a population of approximately 1,400,000 people. In addition to its formal name, Egyptians also refer to it as Arḍ ul-Fairūz (أرض الفيروز "the land of turquoise"). The ancient Egyptians called it Mafkat, or "land of the green minerals".
An awesome place indeed! Seems so far away from civilization, so barren... so dry, yet it is so peaceful... an ideal place to commune with God.
Winter Break holidays in Egypt spent by visiting Sinai or Saina' Peninsula. We visit St. Catherine in which there are two tombs; Prophet Haroun and Prophet Soleh, and stood there a sculpture resembling a cow called The Golden Calf of Samiri. Then we went to Moses' Spring, sightseeing and shopping at Dahab. We also enjoy our ATV ride twice, first at Dahab and second at Sharm el-Sheikh. Last but not least, we went form the land to the sea and enjoying our first time scuba diving as well as snorkeling. Not to mention Salahuddin al-Ayyubi's Fort situated at the border of Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Egypt. Theme song by Coldplay - Viva La Vida; in which I have no rights on it.

NEGEV REGION, ISRAEL — Militants in Egypt’s Sinai peninsula fired rockets into southern Israel on Friday in an incident that caused no casualties but appeared to be connected to fighting between Islamist insurgents and Egyptian security forces, Reuters said. Islamic State’s Egypt affiliate, Sinai Province, claimed in a statement on Twitter by supporters that it had launched three Grad rockets toward “occupied Palestine”. The group said it acted in retaliation for what it feels is Israeli support for Egyptian military. An Israeli military source said the rockets had been fired from Sinai. Israeli officials said they found pieces from two rockets in an open area in Israel’s Negev region. No casualties or damage were reported. Dozens of people have been killed in the past few days o...

In penetrating our border, they crossed into our territory. We liquidated them. We faced a concentration of ISIS fighters in Sinai and we stopped them dead in their tracks."
Six Egyptian policemen have been killed in two separate attacks on Saturday in northern Sinai province. No one has claimed responsibility for the attacks yet. The Egyptian Interior Ministry said five policemen were shot dead in the city of El Arish. The ministry's statement said the recruits were on their way to the police central security department when the assailants stopped their vehicle and gunned them down. About fifty kilometers away in Rafah, security sources told Reuters that nine policemen were injured when their armoured vehicle was hit by an explosive device planted on the road. One of the policemen died later as a result of his wounds.

Mount Sinai (. Hebrew הַר סִינַי, Har Sinai and Mount Moses, Mount Horeb) - mountain in the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt. According to the Bible, on this mountain, God appeared to Moses and gave the Ten Commandments. Jewish tradition has not preserved the exact location of Mount Sinai. The veneration of the current mountain of Moses (Arabic:. Jabal Musa) as the Mount Sinai is an ancient Christian tradition, which goes back to the beginning of the IV century (Eusebius of Caesarea [2]). In modern times we offer other identification options. At the top of Moses Mountain are Orthodox church of the Holy Trinity and a small mosque. To the north of the church under the rock there is a small cave where, according to the Bible, for forty days and nights hiding Moses (Exodus 24:18, Exodus 33:.. 20-23)...

Mountain of Fire: The Search for the True Mount Sinai (2002) A documentary of the true story of two American adventurers who follow mysterious clues to find the true Mt. Sinai. The discoveries made by Bob Cornuke and Larry Williams will shock the world and rewrite history. Centuries of tradition place this holy mountain in the Sinai Peninsula of Egypt, but compelling evidence will show that this hallowed ground, where Moses was told to take the shoes of his feet before the burning bush, may actually be in the barren deserts of northwestern Saudi Arabia. Epic myth becomes burning truth on the Mountain of Fire. Website: http://www.baseinstitute.org/ The name of my YouTube channel is Andrew R.
