Secret Warriors

Secret Warriors is a Marvel series featuring Nick Fury and Team White, a team of superpowered agents in the Marvel Comics Universe. Created by Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev, the characters were introduced in Mighty Avengers #13, and debuted as a team in Secret Invasion #3, both published in 2008.

Publication history

The team was introduced in the Secret Invasion tie-in issues of Mighty Avengers and then featured in their own ongoing series. This series was co-plotted by Bendis with Jonathan Hickman writing. and was one of the titles launching as part of the Dark Reign storyline. The series was promoted by a series of passwords and clues given in solicitations for upcoming issues. A Marvel spokesman stated that further passwords would be released for the website later on.

Fictional team biography

Secret Invasion

The characters were thrown into battle for the first time when the Skrulls kicked their invasion of Earth into high gear. Manhattan became a war zone with Super Skrulls devastating the city, and Fury led the team into the heart of the battle. The arrival of the team turned the tide of battle enough to rescue the combined forces of the Initiative and the Young Avengers from being killed by the Skrulls. Fury rallied all the other heroes together with his agents and began a series of hit and run attacks on the Skrull forces throughout the city. But this tactic would only get them so far. It took all of them just to take out a few Super Skrulls at a time. A better chance at defeating the Skrull invasion came at the sight of Thor's lightning calling them all to Central Park. There, the team gathered with all of the other assembled heroes and repelled the Skrull invasion. In the immediate aftermath of the heroes' victory, Fury and his agents quickly took their leave and went back underground.

Hellfire (album)

Hellfire is the third studio album by Norwegian black metal band 1349. It was released on 24 October 2005 through Candlelight Records.

A music video was produced for the track "Sculptor of Flesh". The video, directed by Judd Tilyard, alternates between footage of the band performing the song in Norway and clips of surgery filmed in Australia.

Nocturnal (web series)

Nocturnal is a supernatural serial drama in the tradition of the classic Dark Shadows and the more recent NBC serial Passions. The series premiered on the internet in March 2007, and new webisodes continue to appear every month on its eponymous web site.

Plot synopsis

Shot on location in and around Pittsburgh, PA, (though the city has never been explicitly named) the series revolves around the mysterious circumstances surrounding the murder of a young woman named Natalie Brew (who, curiously enough, has never appeared in a single webisode).

Not unlike Twin Peaks, the identity of Natalie's killer is one of the series' overarching mysteries. And, as police investigators Archer Reilly and Sarah Pennington discover, there is no shortage of suspects. Did she run afoul of the wealthy and powerful Hawthorne family—led by its patriarch Jebediah—whose power came as a result of dealings with dark forces? Or was she another in the seemingly endless victims of Dr. Ulrich Von Der Linn, a vampire masquerading as a hypnotherapist?

Nocturnal (instrument)

A nocturnal is an instrument used to determine the local time based on the relative positions of two or more stars in the night sky. Sometimes called a "horologium nocturnum" (time instrument for night) or nocturlabe (in French and occasionally used by English writers), it is related to the astrolabe and sun dial. Knowing the time is important in piloting for calculating tides and some nocturnals incorporate tide charts for important ports.

Even if the nightly course of the stars has been known since antiquity, the mentions of a dedicated instrument for its measurement are not found before the Middle Ages. The earlier image presenting the use of a nocturnal is in a manuscript dated from the 12th century.Raymond Lull repeatedly described the use of a sphaera horarum noctis ou astrolabium nocturnum.

It was described also c. 1530 by Peter Apianus in his Cosmographicus Liber republished later by Gemma Frisius with a widely circulated illustration of the instrument while being used by an observer.

"Nocturnal" is a song by English DJ duo Disclosure, with featured vocals by Canadian PBR&B musician The Weeknd. The song serves as the first track from Disclosure's second studio album, Caracal, released on 25 September 2015. The song peaked at number 103 on the UK Singles Chart, number 179 on the French Singles Chart, and number 16 on the Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, due to digital downloads of Caracal.

Possessed is a 2006 Malaysian horror film starring Amber Chia and Harisu, and is the second feature film by director Bjarne Wong.

Plot summary

Amber (Malay name Nurlin) and Lisu are two sisters from China, who have come to Malaysia to further their modelling and singing careers. One day Lisu goes missing, while Amber falls into a coma and is taken back to China for treatment. She awakens five months later with no memory of her past, and returns to Malaysia with her boyfriend, Dino. Amber decides to resume her modelling career and search for Lisu, but finds herself being harassed by an obsessive male fan and haunted by visions of her sister.
