Tipperary will open the defence of their provincial and All-Ireland crowns against Cork in the Munster SHC quarter-final as the Premier are set with the difficult task of negotiating a similar path to 2016.
Should they defeat the Rebels, Waterford await in what would be a huge last-four clash with both sides harbouring All-Ireland aspirations.
In Leinster, Brian Cody is looking for his 16th Leinster title as Kilkenny manager and they are likely to open their campaign with a juicy semi-final tie against Wexford, which could see the Cats boss clash with new Model manager Davy Fitzgerald should they negotiate their way past the round-robin winners/second place.
Football champions Dublin get their campaign under way against either Carlow or Wexford, with Westmeath and Offaly on the same side of the draw.
The pick of the Ulster championship sees Tyrone face Derry in a quarter-final with Donegal on the same side of the draw, while in Connacht, Mayo will face either Sligo or New York before a potential semi-final against Galway.
