Fridays - ABCs Live answer to SNL (1980-2) has finally been released on DVD. It is a best of (5 dvds) from Shout! Factory. Please support the dvd so that more Fridays makes it's way to dvd. The first set compiles material from 16 of the 58 shows produced.
This skit aired originally on Sept 19, 1980 (during the US Hostage Crisis) - the hostages were finally released January 1981.
This stars about all of the Fridays cast (minus Melanie Chartoff) but she is seen at the Fridays newsdesk after this sketch ends.

Roarke
Roarke is a fictional character from the series In Death. He is the husband of Lt. Eve Dallas and together, they are the main characters of the futuristic (circa 2058 AD) romance-mystery series by J.D. Robb, pseudonym for NY Times best-selling author Nora Roberts. A former career criminal, Roarke is the owner and CEO of Roarke Industries, an inter-planetary corporation that has made him one of the richest men in the world.
Character basis
Roarke is in his mid-thirties; he is an immigrant from Dublin, Ireland; in NYC, he is the CEO of Roarke Industries, and one of the richest men in the world, possibly the richest. He owns an old mansion off Central Park he remodeled to his specifications with very high tech security. Also in the home is his own personal collection of firearms, which are illegal in 2058 unless one possesses a collector's license. Roarke also owns maces, swords, daggers, medieval armor, and other assorted weapons. He is quite skilled in electronics and can dismantle any type of security, lock, or coding, as well as hacking into any electronic database—including but not limited to the FBI, Interpol, and Homeland Security.

Melanie Chartoff
Melanie Chartoff (born December 15, 1950) is an American actress and voice actress. She first became famous for her comedy work on the ABC series Fridays (1980–82), and in the 1990s Fox sitcom Parker Lewis Can't Lose. She voiced both Didi Pickles and Grandma Minka on the animated series Rugrats.
Biography
Early life
Chartoff was born on December 15, 1950, in New Haven, Connecticut, and attended West Haven High School. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts from Adelphi University.
Career
She guest starred on ABC Family's Switched at Birth (2015). Her first Broadway appearances were in Galt MacDermot's space opera, Via Galactica(1972), directed by Peter Hall, and The Young Vic's Scapino, starring Jim Dale (1974).
Chartoff's first TV role came in 1976 when she played a nurse on Search For Tomorrow, after which came an appearance in the 1978 motion picture American Hot Wax. She first became a nationally known figure on ABC's Fridays, which was ABC's attempt to create its own version of Saturday Night Live. She immediately stood out on the series, partly thanks to her regular role as the anchor on the show's fake newscasts, but also due to her comedic skills (particularly an impression of Nancy Reagan). On one sketch, she was cold-cocked on live TV when co-star Mary Edith Burrell failed to pull her punch during a skit and chipped a tooth.

Although Richards ended up with a starring role later on in Seinfeld, the lack of a big breakthrough star and with NBC still providing better late night fare (Tonight Show, Midnight Special, and later SCTV), the show was cancelled in October 1982. Meanwhile, Will continues to have a variety of human and less-than-human encounters (from would-be pissing matches to makin' designs) as he massages his brain into shape and chooses to stay on the course of proving his innocence. This second feature film from the "Police Squad!" series finds Drebin as a guest at a White House dinner, receiving an award for shooting his 1,000th drug dealer, although he admits to shooting only 998 — he ran over the last two in his car. ("Luckily, they turned out to be drug dealers"). Also at the White House dinner is energy czar Dr. Albert S. Meinheimer (Richard Griffiths), whom President George Bush (John Roarke) has chosen to start a new national energy policy. Since Meinheimer believes in promoting alternative energy resources, the evil leaders of the polluting energy industries (coal, oil, and nuclear power—or the lobby groups SMOKE, SPILL and KABOOM) are horrified at Bush's choice. Joining together with arch-villain Quentin Hapsburg (Robert Goulet), they plan to kidnap the real Meinheimer and substitute a fake Meinheimer in his place who will enact energy policy according to the dictates of the energy lobby. Drebin becomes deeply involved in the conspiracy when he runs into his ex-girl friend Jane (Priscilla Presley), who is not only Meinheimer's public relations director but also Hapsburg's current paramour.
