"Hinono’ei, the Arapaho People lived in the Great Lakes region, along the Mississippi River. Around 1680, they began to migrate out of the Great Lakes area after being forcibly moved or, pushed out of their established territory by the whites and traditional enemy tribes. Their adaptation to newer lands on the vast Great Plains and their will to survive and advance their People included making weapons, such as the bow and arrow and the spear. As the horse and the buffalo flourished, the Arapahos became self-sustaining in their new territory.
Around 1796, while living and hunting buffalo on the Central Great Plains, the Arapaho People migrated to camps along the Cheyenne River, near the Black Hills in what is now, South Dakota. It is said, that this is the area where the Cheyenne became allies with the Arapaho and in the early 1800's, they began to camp, hunt and live together. By 1885, the Arapahos began hunting, along with their pony herd of 4,000
along Wolf Creek, in what is now, northwestern Oklahoma.
Today, the Cheyenne and Arapaho are federally recognized as one tribe and known as: the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes. However, while the tribes function as one Nation, each tribe still maintains their culture, traditions, customs, social dances, ceremonies and languages."

Arapaho
The Arapaho (in French: Arapahos, Gens de Vache) are a tribe of Native Americans historically living on the plains of Colorado and Wyoming. They were close allies of the Cheyenne tribe and loosely aligned with the Lakota and Dakota. The Arapaho language, Heenetiit, is an Algonquian language closely related to Gros Ventre (Ahe/A'ananin), whose people are seen as an early offshoot of the Arapaho. Blackfeet and Cheyenne are the other Algonquian-speakers on the Plains, but their languages are quite different from Arapaho.
By the 1850s, Arapaho bands formed two tribes: the Northern Arapaho and Southern Arapaho. Since 1878, the Northern Arapaho have lived with the Eastern Shoshone on the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming and are federally recognized as the Arapahoe Tribe of the Wind River Reservation. The Southern Arapaho live with the Southern Cheyenne in Oklahoma. Together, their members are enrolled as the federally recognized Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes.
Name
The Arapaho autonym is Hinono'eino or Inun-ina (“our people” or “people of our own kind”), when referring to the tribe they use Hinono'eiteen (Arapaho Nation).

Next (Desperate Housewives)
"Next" is the second season premiere episode of the American comedy-drama series Desperate Housewives, and the 24th episode overall. It was originally broadcast in the United States on September 25, 2005, on ABC. It was written by Jenna Bans and Kevin Murphy and was directed by Larry Shaw.
In the episode, Susan (Teri Hatcher) recovers from having been held hostage while Gabrielle (Eva Longoria) attempts to salvage her marriage to her incarcerated husband, Carlos (Ricardo Antonio Chavira). Meanwhile, Bree (Marcia Cross) deals with her mother-in-law following her husband's death and Lynette (Felicity Huffman) goes back to work. The episode also introduces the mystery storyline revolving around Betty Applewhite (Alfre Woodard) and her family.
According to Nielsen ratings, "Next" was watched by 28.4 million viewers, making it the most watched season premiere on ABC in nine years. The episode also ranks as the second-most watched in series history, behind the first season finale in May 2005. The episode received general positive reviews, with Cross earning universal praise for her performance. Critics enjoyed Woodward's acting as well as her character's storyline.

This after Beijing ordered dozens of warplanes to fly repeatedly over Taiwan's air defense zone, prompting accusations of intimidation. China's head of state, Xi Jinping, warned ominously that, as he put it: "It has never ended well for those who betray the motherland." The US, meanwhile, has warned China against any further provocation.
So, on TO THE POINT, we ask: Dangerous territory: Is Taiwan next on China's list?

Deutsche Welle colleague Melissa Chan, who presents DW's News Asia show. She says: "Xi Jinping has gone after China's Uyghur minority, then Hong Kong, and even its tech billionaires. So, why wouldn't he go after Taiwan?"
Gudrun Wacker, an Asia expert from the German Institute for International and Security Affairs, who believes that: "China's saber-rattling is a message to Taiwan that the balance of power between the two sides makes unification inevitable and resistance pointless."
Felix Lee, from the Berlin-based daily the TAZ, or Tageszeitung, spent many years as a correspondent in Beijing. And Felix asks: "Will China go for the military option? That depends on the US and its allies. Certainly, Xi Jinping will not risk a full-blown conflict with the West."

Tensions between China and Taiwan are being described as the worst in decades. This after Beijing ordered dozens of warplanes to fly repeatedly over Taiwan's air defense zone, prompting accusations of intimidation. China's head of state, Xi Jinping, warned ominously that, as he put it: "It has never ended well for those who betray the motherland." The US, meanwhile, has warned China against any further provocation.
So, on TO THE POINT, we ask: Dangerous territory: Is Taiwan next on China's list?

Deutsche Welle colleague Melissa Chan, who presents DW's News Asia show. She says: "Xi Jinping has gone after China's Uyghur minority, then Hong Kong, and even its tech billionaires. So, why wouldn't he go after Taiwan?"
Gudrun Wacker, an Asia expert from the German Institute for International and Security Affairs, who believes that: "China's saber-rattling is a message to Taiwan that the balance of power between the two sides makes unification inevitable and resistance pointless."
Felix Lee, from the Berlin-based daily the TAZ, or Tageszeitung, spent many years as a correspondent in Beijing. And Felix asks: "Will China go for the military option? That depends on the US and its allies. Certainly, Xi Jinping will not risk a full-blown conflict with the West."

"Hinono’ei, the Arapaho People lived in the Great Lakes region, along the Mississippi River. Around 1680, they began to migrate out of the Great Lakes area after being forcibly moved or, pushed out of their established territory by the whites and traditional enemy tribes. Their adaptation to newer lands on the vast Great Plains and their will to survive and advance their People included making weapons, such as the bow and arrow and the spear. As the horse and the buffalo flourished, the Arapahos became self-sustaining in their new territory.
Around 1796, while living and hunting buffalo on the Central Great Plains, the Arapaho People migrated to camps along the Cheyenne River, near the Black Hills in what is now, South Dakota. It is said, that this is the area where the Cheyenne became allies with the Arapaho and in the early 1800's, they began to camp, hunt and live together. By 1885, the Arapahos began hunting, along with their pony herd of 4,000
along Wolf Creek, in what is now, northwestern Oklahoma.
Today, the Cheyenne and Arapaho are federally recognized as one tribe and known as: the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes. However, while the tribes function as one Nation, each tribe still maintains their culture, traditions, customs, social dances, ceremonies and languages."
"The Northern Arapaho Tribe of Wyoming is one of four groups of Arapaho, who originally occupied the headwaters of the Arkansas and Platte Rivers. They speak a variation of the Algonquin language and are that People’s most southwest extension. Culturally, they are Plains Indians, but, socially and historically distinct. After signing the Treaty of 1851, the Arapaho and Cheyenne then shared land encompassing one-sixth of Wyoming, one-quarter of Colorado and parts of western Kansas and Nebraska. Later, when the Treaty of 1868 left the Northern Arapaho without a land base, they were placed with the Shoshone in west central Wyoming, on the Wind River Reservation. The Northern Arapaho are a federally recognized tribe."

Arapaho
The Arapaho (in French: Arapahos, Gens de Vache) are a tribe of Native Americans historically living on the plains of Colorado and Wyoming. They were close allies of the Cheyenne tribe and loosely aligned with the Lakota and Dakota. The Arapaho language, Heenetiit, is an Algonquian language closely related to Gros Ventre (Ahe/A'ananin), whose people are seen as an early offshoot of the Arapaho. Blackfeet and Cheyenne are the other Algonquian-speakers on the Plains, but their languages are quite different from Arapaho.
By the 1850s, Arapaho bands formed two tribes: the Northern Arapaho and Southern Arapaho. Since 1878, the Northern Arapaho have lived with the Eastern Shoshone on the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming and are federally recognized as the Arapahoe Tribe of the Wind River Reservation. The Southern Arapaho live with the Southern Cheyenne in Oklahoma. Together, their members are enrolled as the federally recognized Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes.
Name
The Arapaho autonym is Hinono'eino or Inun-ina (“our people” or “people of our own kind”), when referring to the tribe they use Hinono'eiteen (Arapaho Nation).

Tensions between China and Taiwan are being described as the worst in decades. This after Beijing ordered dozens of warplanes to fly repeatedly over Taiwan's air defense zone, prompting accusations of intimidation. China's head of state, Xi Jinping, warned ominously that, as he put it: "It has never ended well for those who betray the motherland." The US, meanwhile, has warned China against any further provocation.
So, on TO THE POINT, we ask: Dangerous territory: Is Taiwan next on China's list?

Deutsche Welle colleague Melissa Chan, who presents DW's News Asia show. She says: "Xi Jinping has gone after China's Uyghur minority, then Hong Kong, and even its tech billionaires. So, why wouldn't he go after Taiwan?"
Gudrun Wacker, an Asia expert from the German Institute for International and Security Affairs, who believes that: "China's saber-rattling is a message to Taiwan that the balance of power between the two sides makes unification inevitable and resistance pointless."
Felix Lee, from the Berlin-based daily the TAZ, or Tageszeitung, spent many years as a correspondent in Beijing. And Felix asks: "Will China go for the military option? That depends on the US and its allies. Certainly, Xi Jinping will not risk a full-blown conflict with the West."
