Daniel is a masculine given name and a surname of Hebrew origin. It means, "God is my judge", and derives from two early biblical figures, primary among them Daniel from the Book of Daniel. It is a common given name for males, and is also used as a surname. It is also the basis for various derived given names and surnames.

Background

The name evolved into over 100 different spellings in countries around the world. Nicknames (Dan, Danny) are common in both English and Hebrew, although in some instances "Dan" may be a complete given name rather than a nickname. The name "Daniil" (Даниил) is common in Russia. Feminine versions (Danielle, Daniela, Daniella, Dani, Danitza) are prevalent as well. The Dutch names "Daan" and "Daniël" are also variations of Daniel. In the United States, the U.S. Social Security Administration reports that Daniel has peaked as the fifth most popular name for newborns in 1985, 1990, 2007, and 2008. Tião Carreiro & Pardinho

Tião Carreiro & Pardinho (also known as Tião Carreiro e Pardinho) is a Brazilian sertanejo musical duo.

Tião Carreiro (real name: José Dias Nunes), born in a farm in the outskirts of Araçatuba city, in the Brazilian state of São Paulo, started to lear how to play the acoustic guitar at a very young age. Later, only 13, he went to work in the Giglio Circus, where he made a music pair with his cousin Waldomiro. The circus owner encouraged Tião to learn the viola caipira (a kind of steel ten-string acoustic guitar). Tião Carreiro played along with various other violeiros (viola caipira players that create música caipira or Brazilian country music).

He reached fame with Pardinho (real name: Antônio Henrique de Lima), consolidating the music double as Tião Carreiro e Pardinho. Alongside Pardinho, Tião Carreiro is credited as the inventor of the Pagode (not to be confused with the Pagode style of Samba), the rural Pagode (Pagode Caipira).

Influenced

Among the violeiros such as César Menotti & Fabiano, Chitãozinho & Xororó, Milionário e José Rico among others, Tião Carreiro e Pardinho are viewed as one of the most influential songwriters/singers of the Música Sertaneja style of Brazilian popular music.

Daniel Oliveira

Daniel Rolim Oliveira, known as Daniel Oliveira, was born on 12 July 1985 and is a Brazilian rally driver at the World Rally Championship.

On entering the Intercontinental Rally Challenge in the 2010 season Oliveira was known only locally. He participated in ten rallies during the season, achieving two points at the Rally Internacional de Curitiba.

In 2011, he moved up to the World Rally Championship driving a MINI Countryman WRC for the new rally team Brazil World Rally Team.

In 2012, the Brazilian driver started competing with the Ford Fiesta RS WRC on the 2012 Rally de Portugal, where he achieved the 13th position, becoming the Brazilian promise in the World Rally Championship.

At the Rallye Deutschland he showed determination by finishing in the 23rd position after coming back on Day 2 of the competition.

Fullmetal Alchemist (Japanese: 鋼の錬金術師, Hepburn: Hagane no Renkinjutsushi, lit. "Alchemist of Steel") is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hiromu Arakawa. It was serialized in Square Enix's Monthly Shōnen Gangan magazine between August 2001 and June 2010; the publisher later collected the individual chapters into twenty-seven tankōbon volumes. The world of Fullmetal Alchemist is styled after the European Industrial Revolution. Set in a fictional universe in which alchemy is one of the most advanced scientific techniques, the story follows the Elric brothers Edward and Alphonse, who are searching for a philosopher's stone to restore their bodies after a failed attempt to bring their mother back to life using alchemy.

The manga was published in English by Viz Media in North America, Madman Entertainment in Australasia, and Chuang Yi in Singapore. It has been adapted into two anime television series, two animated films—all animated by Bones studio—and light novels. Funimation dubbed both television series and films into English and released them for North America; these were distributed in other regions by several other companies. Viz Media localized the light novels, and Funimation and Destineer have localized the video games. Original video animations, video games, supplementary books, collectible card game and a variety of action figures and other merchandise have been based on the series' characters.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (Japanese: 鋼の錬金術師, Hepburn: Hagane no Renkinjutsushi) is an anime adaptation of the Fullmetal Alchemist manga by Hiromu Arakawa. Developed by Bones, the series is directed by Yasuhiro Irie and written by Hiroshi Ōnogi. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is the second anime television series based on Fullmetal Alchemist, the first being 2003's Fullmetal Alchemist, as a 1/1 adaptation directly following the events of the manga. It was first announced in the manga series' 20th tankōbon volume. In Japan, it is differentiated from the 2003 series by the inclusion of the English language title. The series premiered on April 5, 2009 on MBS-TBS' Sunday 5:00 PM JST anime time block, replacing Mobile Suit Gundam 00, and ran weekly until airing its final episode on July 4, 2010. Voice actors Romi Park and Rie Kugimiya reprise their roles as main characters Edward and Alphonse Elric, respectively.

On March 20, 2009, it was announced that the English title of the series was Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and that it would receive its English language premiere on Animax Asia, with Japanese audio and English subtitles, from April 10, 2009 at 8:30 p.m, five days after its Japanese premiere. On April 3, 2009, Funimation announced they would stream English subtitled episodes four days after they air in Japan. Madman Entertainment would also stream it "within days" of the episodes airing in Japan. On February 14, 2010, the English dubbed version of the series began its run on Adult Swim. On February 1, 2016, it was announced from the official Funimation blog that Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, along with Fullmetal Alchemist the Movie: Conqueror of Shamballa, that Funimation will lose the home video and streaming rights by March 31, 2016.
