Doctor Who
Doctor Who is a British science-fiction television programme produced by the BBC from 1963 to the present day. The programme depicts the adventures of the Doctor, a Time Lord—a space and time-travelling humanoid alien. He explores the universe in his TARDIS, a sentient time-travelling space ship. Its exterior appears as a blue British police box, which was a common sight in Britain in 1963 when the series first aired. Accompanied by companions, the Doctor combats a variety of foes, while working to save civilisations and help people in need.
The show is a significant part of British popular culture, and elsewhere it has become a cult television favourite. The show has influenced generations of British television professionals, many of whom grew up watching the series. The programme originally ran from 1963 to 1989. There was an unsuccessful attempt to revive regular production in 1996 with a backdoor pilot, in the form of a television film. The programme was relaunched in 2005 by Russell T Davies, who was showrunner and head writer for the first five years of its revival, produced in-house by BBC Wales in Cardiff. The first series of the 21st century featured Christopher Eccleston in the title role and was produced by the BBC. Ben Howard
Benjamin John "Ben" Howard (born 24 April 1987) is an English singer-songwriter. He self-released his debut EP Games in the Dark (2008) followed by two more EPs, These Waters (2009) and Old Pine (2010). He is currently signed to Island and Communion. His major debut studio album came in 2011 titled Every Kingdom followed by two more EP releases, Ben Howard Live (2011) and The Burgh Island E.P. (2012).
At the 2013 Brit Awards he received the Brit Award for British Male Solo Artist. He performed at 2013 Glastonbury festival on the Pyramid Stage on Saturday 29 June. He released his second studio album, I Forget Where We Were, in October 2014.
Early life
He was born in Middlesex,London in 1987 and moved near Totnes, Devon when he was about eight. He was raised by musical parents who exposed him to their favourite records from singer-songwriter artists from the 1960s and 1970s at an early age, such as John Martyn, Van Morrison, Joni Mitchell and Simon & Garfunkel, by whom he was strongly influenced.

Howard Fillit, MD, the founding executive director and chief scientific officer at the Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation, sat down with MD Magazine to discuss the burden faced by physicians that treat patients with Alzheimer's Disease. As many patients - and their caretakers - require hours of care, education, and testing, there is a burden placed on physicians who provide those services. Fillit has been working with patients with AD for almost 40 years, and with the ADDF, he helps fund clinical trials for much-needed therapies for the debilitating condition. -

It also places a major burden on individuals and societies alike. Its incidence is expected to rise both in industrialised and developing countries in the decades to come, partly due to continued exposure to risk factors for COPD and partly due to an ageing world population. Developing new strategies to manage this disease, such as ensuring that the patient understands their condition and is encouraged to make changes in their lifestyle, is becoming a necessity if we are to significantly reduce the impacts this disease has across the globe.

Soros, whose breadth of experience in financial markets is unrivalled, places the current crisis in the context of decades of study of how individuals and institutions handle the boom and bust cycles that now dominate global economic activity. "This is a once in lifetime moment", says Soros in characterising the scale of financial distress spreading across Wall Street, the London Stock Exchange, and financial centres around the world. Legal uncertainty affects daily choices in a wide variety of realms, from education to playground safety, healthcare, and government services. Excessive litigation affects policy choices diminishing the quality of life for average Americans from all strata of society. Philip K. Howard has been writing about the issue for twenty years. On September 22, at a lunchtime roundtable hosted by the Justice and Society Program, he was interviewed by Stuart Taylor, Jr., Contributing Editor, Newsweek and National Journal. Howard, author of The Death of Common Sense: How Law is Suffocating America and Life Without Lawyers: Liberating Americans from Too Much Law, is a law partner at Covington & Burling.
In a lively discussion with roundtable participants, he argued that judgment and common sense has taken a back seat to legal process in a host of areas. Among his examples: teachers cannot remove a disruptive student from the classroom, or even place a comforting arm on a crying child; the slide disappears from playgrounds in a city after an unfortunate accident; a litigant is able to prolong a 54 million dollar lawsuit against a drycleaner for a pair of lost pants. Howard argues that part of the problem is the reluctance of judges to rule on cases as a matter of law, instead submitting too many cases to juries or prolonging them until settlement becomes the only economically feasible option. He also argues that the regulatory system is a one-way ratchet, accreting successive layers that choke innovation and burden incoming regulators with the decisions of their predecessors.
The Justice and Society Program roundtable series brings together experts from across the political spectrum for respectful value-based discussion on up-to-the moment issues of law and public policy. Upcoming programs will consider civics education in America, and planning for a series on the Constitution in the 21st Century is underway.
