New York explosion: 29 injured in 'intentional bomb blast', with second device found in Manhattan
Police are hunting for answers on what caused an explosion that injured 29 people in New York's Chelsea neighborhood, shortly before a second suspicious device was found nearby.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio told reporters early indications are that the explosion at 23rd Street and 6th Avenue in Manhattan at about 8.30 p.m. Saturday "was an intentional act."

Here in Chelsea you'll find yourself in a historical yet impressively progressive neighborhood, which is roughly bordered by 14th street to the south, 30th street to the north, 6th Avenue to the east and the Hudson River and West Street to the west.
The General Theological Seminary of the Episcopal Church (440 West 21st Street) was founded in 1817. The magnificent green, lush quadrangle is a peaceful place in the bustling city.
In the late 1880's the Hudson River Railroad began using 10th and 11th avenues dividing Chelsea from the waterfront. Soon the neighborhood was covered in slaughterhouses, breweries and tenements for the immigrant labor force to live in.
Something to check out in this area is The Limelight Market Place (47 West 20th Street). This 25,000-square-foot former eighties nightclub, and, before that a church, has been converted into a shopping center.
The 20th Street landmark's lancet windows, labyrinthine layout, and soaring chapel are the same as they ever were but now you'll find specialty clothes, housewares, chocolates and the quintessential Grimaldi's pizza.
If you're an art enthusiast, you'll be delighted to know that Chelsea is considered by many to be the art capital of New York, boasting more than 200 galleries. The 1950's and 60's gave Chelsea a facelift with public housing and urban renewal projects. When the sun starts to set, one of the best places to be in Chelsea is the High Line Park.
The High Line was renovated to serve as a park, running from Gansevoort Street in the Meatpacking District to West 34th Street, between 10th & 11th Avenues. It's a great place to meet friends, take a leisurely walk, or have a picnic.
You'll want to keep an eye out for some notable new architecture along the High Line. Here are a few locations:
The Della Valle Bernheimer design (459 West 18th Street), The Chelsea Modern (447 West 18th Street) and The IAC Building (555 West 18th Street).
For you fashion buffs out there, Chelsea is home to the Fashion Institute of Technology (Seventh Avenue &West; 27 Street), the internationally recognized college for design, fashion and business.
For political buffs, note that the national office of the Communist Party USA is located on the 8th floor of 235 West 23rd St.

At Least 25 Injured in Manhattan Explosion
Twenty-five people were injured after an explosion occurred in Manhattan Saturday evening, authorities said.
The Fire Department said none of the injures appear to be life-threatening. The explosion on West 23rd Street between Sixth and Seventh Avenues in Chelsea was reported at around 8:30 p.m.
"It was a loud boom, a deep boom," an eyewitness who was eating dinner nearby when the blast occurred. "We all ran out and went down the street. You could fell it in your chest and in your legs."
The cause of the explosion is still unclear, but a police bomb squad was called in as a precaution to look for secondary devices in the immediate area, an FDNY official said.
"There was a loud boom and our entire apartment shook," said Neha Jain, 24, who lives on W. 23rd and Sixth Avenue. "All the pictures fell to the floor and then I heard people screaming."
Photos on social media appeared to show a trash bin that was purported to have been mangled in the blast. Jain said the explosion shattered the glass in her building's lobby. "My first thought was it's a bomb, Jain said. "It's quite terrifying."
The New York Office of Emergency Management said it was responding to the scene. A large police presence and ambulances responded to the area. The NYPD's counterterrorism unit said it was also responding.
Police were searching cars and trash cans in the area.
Facebook activated its "Safety Check" feature so that users can easily notify friends and family members of their status.

The explosion on West 23rd Street between Sixth and Seventh Avenues in Chelsea was reported at around 8:30 p.m. "It was a loud boom, a deep boom," an eyewitness who was eating dinner nearby when the blast occurred. "We all ran out and went down the street. You could fell it in your chest and in your legs." The cause of the explosion is still unclear, but a police bomb squad was called in as a precaution to look for secondary devices in the immediate area, an FDNY official said. "There was a loud boom and our entire apartment shook," said Neha Jain, 24, who lives on W. 23rd and Sixth Avenue. "All the pictures fell to the floor and then I heard people screaming." Photos on social media appeared to show a trash bin that was purported to have been mangled in the blast. Jain said the explosion shattered the glass in her building's lobby. "My first thought was it's a bomb, Jain said. "It's quite terrifying." The New York Office of Emergency Management said it was responding to the scene. A large police presence and ambulances responded to the area. The NYPD's counterterrorism unit said it was also responding. Police were searching cars and trash cans in the area. Facebook activated its "Safety Check" feature so that users can easily notify friends and family members of their status. -

Here in Chelsea you'll find yourself in a historical yet impressively progressive neighborhood, which is roughly bordered by 14th street to the south, 30th street to the north, 6th Avenue to the east and the Hudson River and West Street to the west.
The General Theological Seminary of the Episcopal Church (440 West 21st Street) was founded in 1817. The magnificent green, lush quadrangle is a peaceful place in the bustling city.
In the late 1880's the Hudson River Railroad began using 10th and 11th avenues dividing Chelsea from the waterfront. Soon the neighborhood was covered in slaughterhouses, breweries and tenements for the immigrant labor force to live in.
Something to check out in this area is The Limelight Market Place (47 West 20th Street). This 25,000-square-foot former eighties nightclub, and, before that a church, has been converted into a shopping center.
The 20th Street landmark's lancet windows, labyrinthine layout, and soaring chapel are the same as they ever were but now you'll find specialty clothes, housewares, chocolates and the quintessential Grimaldi's pizza.
If you're an art enthusiast, you'll be delighted to know that Chelsea is considered by many to be the art capital of New York, boasting more than 200 galleries. The 1950's and 60's gave Chelsea a facelift with public housing and urban renewal projects. A few examples are the Robert Miller Gallery (524 West 26th Street), the George Billis Gallery (521 West 26th Street) and the Sonnabend (536 West 22nd Street).

Welcome to the first video tour of our two part series dedicated to the neighborhood called Chelsea, located on the west side of the borough of Manhattan, New York, by New York Habitat (http://www.nyhabitat.com ) .

Here in Chelsea you'll find yourself in a historical yet impressively progressive neighborhood, which is roughly bordered by 14th street to the south, 30th street to the north, 6th Avenue to the east and the Hudson River and West Street to the west.
The General Theological Seminary of the Episcopal Church (440 West 21st Street) was founded in 1817. The magnificent green, lush quadrangle is a peaceful place in the bustling city.
In the late 1880's the Hudson River Railroad began using 10th and 11th avenues dividing Chelsea from the waterfront. Soon the neighborhood was covered in slaughterhouses, breweries and tenements for the immigrant labor force to live in.
Something to check out in this area is The Limelight Market Place (47 West 20th Street). This 25,000-square-foot former eighties nightclub, and, before that a church, has been converted into a shopping center.
The 20th Street landmark's lancet windows, labyrinthine layout, and soaring chapel are the same as they ever were but now you'll find specialty clothes, housewares, chocolates and the quintessential Grimaldi's pizza.
If you're an art enthusiast, you'll be delighted to know that Chelsea is considered by many to be the art capital of New York, boasting more than 200 galleries. The 1950's and 60's gave Chelsea a facelift with public housing and urban renewal projects. A few examples are the Robert Miller Gallery (524 West 26th Street), the George Billis Gallery (521 West 26th Street) and the Sonnabend (536 West 22nd Street).

When the sun starts to set, one of the best places to be in Chelsea is the High Line Park.
The High Line was renovated to serve as a park, running from Gansevoort Street in the Meatpacking District to West 34th Street, between 10th & 11th Avenues. It's a great place to meet friends, take a leisurely walk, or have a picnic.
You'll want to keep an eye out for some notable new architecture along the High Line. Here are a few locations:
The Della Valle Bernheimer design (459 West 18th Street), The Chelsea Modern (447 West 18th Street) and The IAC Building (555 West 18th Street).
For you fashion buffs out there, Chelsea is home to the Fashion Institute of Technology (Seventh Avenue &West; 27 Street), the internationally recognized college for design, fashion and business.
For political buffs, note that the national office of the Communist Party USA is located on the 8th floor of 235 West 23rd St.
For French popular culture buffs, stop by the Saint Vincent De Paul Church on 23rd Street where Edith Piaf was married.
In the mood for a laugh? The Gotham Comedy Club on West 23rd Street is an elegant lounge that hosts some of New York's finest comedy.
For a show or a concert, here are a few of our favorite Chelsea venues: The Joyce Theater ( 175 8th Avenue), The Highline Ballroom (431 West 16th Street) and The Magnet Theater (254 W 29th Street).
You'll find a great market in Chelsea. The Chelsea Markets (75 9th Avenue) borders the Meatpacking District and Chelsea.
Inside the old National Biscuit Company's (Nabisco) factory we can find a marketplace representing the best that New York has to offer.
Because Chelsea is such a melting pot of cultures and it is so close to excellent food sources like Chelsea Market, and The Farmer's Market in Union Square, you really can eat whatever you like.
If you want to shop at Chelsea Market, you're going to need a kitchen to cook all of the great food.

Raine's Law Room (48 W. 17th Street) and The Frying Pan (205 12th Avenue).

Twenty-five people were injured after an explosion occurred in Manhattan Saturday evening, authorities said.
The Fire Department said none of the injures appear to be life-threatening. The explosion on West 23rd Street between Sixth and Seventh Avenues in Chelsea was reported at around 8:30 p.m.
"It was a loud boom, a deep boom," an eyewitness who was eating dinner nearby when the blast occurred. "We all ran out and went down the street. You could fell it in your chest and in your legs."
The cause of the explosion is still unclear, but a police bomb squad was called in as a precaution to look for secondary devices in the immediate area, an FDNY official said.
"There was a loud boom and our entire apartment shook," said Neha Jain, 24, who lives on W. 23rd and Sixth Avenue. "All the pictures fell to the floor and then I heard people screaming."
Photos on social media appeared to show a trash bin that was purported to have been mangled in the blast. Jain said the explosion shattered the glass in her building's lobby. "My first thought was it's a bomb, Jain said. "It's quite terrifying."
The New York Office of Emergency Management said it was responding to the scene. A large police presence and ambulances responded to the area. The NYPD's counterterrorism unit said it was also responding.
Police were searching cars and trash cans in the area.
Facebook activated its "Safety Check" feature so that users can easily notify friends and family members of their status.

Here are some Things to do in NYC :) This 1st of a "Things to do in NYC" is the BASICS. New York City is most certainly unique. A city that’s very much alive and kicking, self-confident and always a surprise!

Most journeys begin at Penn Station or Grand Central, and if you arrive at the later you'll be wowed by the building. The Meatpacking District was once home to markets, slaughterhouses, and packaging plants, but times have changed. Today you'll find a mixture of trendy restaurants, clubs and boutiques. The Village used to be a bohemian neighborhood that drew artists and musicians, but today you're more likely to find upper middle class families living here. Completed in 1883, Brooklyn Bridge is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States. Williamsburg has become popular given its lower rent prices. University students and young professionals have been flocking to this part of town.
You can walk along the riverfront for a great view of the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges and the Manhattan skyline. During the summer months, Bryant Park also becomes a popular hangout spot people looking to relax and even work on their tans. The Staten Island Ferry is free of charge and this makes it really popular with visitors who want to catch a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty from a distance. Battery Park is located on the southern tip of Manhattan. Having both lived in South Korea, we were thrilled to come across Manhattan's own Little Korea. Coney Island is all about good old fashioned fun. The Cloisters will make you feel like you've travelled over to Europe. Central Park is massive and there are so many places to visit within its boundaries. We managed to visit Belvedere Castle, the Great Lawn, Shakespeare Garden, The Ramble, The Jackie Onassis Reservoir, the Alice in Wonderland Statue, and we still left feeling like we barely scratched the surface.
And that concludes a look at our very busy week in New York City. I'm still shocked we managed to cover so many attractions, but the great thing about this city is that distances aren't very long and there's always something really cool worth checking out around each corner. We managed to visit Belvedere Castle, the Great Lawn, Shakespeare Garden, The Ramble, The Jackie Onassis Reservoir, the Alice in Wonderland Statue, and we still left feeling like we barely scratched the surface.
And that concludes a look at our very busy week in New York City. I'm still shocked we managed to cover so many attractions, but the great thing about this city is that distances aren't very long and there's always something really cool worth checking out around each corner. I will do more in depth videos on neighborhoods like Harlem, Brooklyn, Lower East Side which will include shopping, entertainment, eating, all that :) But for now I hope you find this helpful and excited about exploring NYC. Summer in NYC isn't really summer until you get your butt on a rooftop. My pick was Jimmy Rooftop. Sunday's after 3pm are bomb! Amazing music courtesy of DJ Cato. I believe it is doorman discretion, which means, dress your best and don't travel with a bunch of dudes. You get an amazing view of the sun setting over the Hudson River and you get to splash around in the pool if you so choose. I chose this spot because I used to work here and loved it!

Yes! Go to Church! After you party it up Saturday night or Sunday afternoon bring your sinful behind to this awesome church! You don't have to be religious to attend. This is a non-denominal church and people from all over the world come here for the amazing sermons and not to mention the interior. This Church is a converted theatre and a must see. Now go and pray!
