Rama Raman takes over as principal secretary, industries in Lucknow

NOIDA: Senior IAS officer Rama Raman joined office as principal secretary, industries, in Lucknow on Thursday. This comes five days after the Uttar Pradesh government designated him back on executive duty.
Raman, who also holds additional charge of Noida's chairman, spoke to TOI from Lucknow and said he will only focus on policy decisions for the city.
Raman said he is likely to be in Noida only to chair important meetings and for noard meetings. "We have a proposed board meeting for October 20. I am likely to be in Noida at the time. Once I am in Noida, I will not be handling routine matters, but those which require important decisions for policy formulations," he said.
Raman also indicated that from now on, the three authorities of Gautam Buddh Nagar are likely to hold their board meetings separately. Till now, as the chairperson was common for the three areas, a joint meeting was held.
Raman said his priorities as principal secretary, industries of the state, would be to focus on revival of industrial development in UP. "My aim will be to pull in investment and to provide entrepreneurs with a conducive environment for setting up industry and for ease of doing business in the state," Raman said.
