In automotive engineering, the master cylinder is a control device that converts non-hydraulic pressure (commonly from a driver's foot) into hydraulic pressure. This device controls slave cylinders located at the other end of the hydraulic system.
As piston(s) move along the bore of the master cylinder, this movement is transferred through the hydraulic fluid, to result in a movement of the slave cylinder(s). The hydraulic pressure created by moving a piston (inside the bore of the master cylinder) toward the slave cylinder(s) compresses the fluid evenly, but by varying the comparative surface-area of the master cylinder and/or each slave cylinder, one can vary the amount of force and displacement applied to each slave cylinder, relative to the amount of force and displacement applied to the master cylinder.

have you ever tried to bleed your brakes over, and over, and you just cant seem to get the brake pedal to firm? Well This is the master cylinder bench bleeding process, how to bleed brakes with no help and fixing that dreaded spongy brake pedal that you can never get rid of. Now your problem is solved with this tutorial. Put Jesus Christ at the center of it all, God bless.
We will walk you through 2 different ways to bench bleed a Step Bore Master Cylinder (SBMC). NOTE: When installing master cylinders, it is important to get all the air out of the system. If not, it could result in poor brake performance. Step Bore Master Cylinders are more difficult to bench bleed than conventional master cylinders. Learn more here: (0:34) CARDONE recommends using a brake syringe when bleeding a SBMC Method 1: Syringe 1) Mount the master cylinder in a vice by clamping on he mounting flange (1:03) Make sure the mount is level and avoid clamping onto the casting body to prevent damage 2) Place a drain pan under the master cylinder to catch any fluid expelled during the bleeding process (1:15) 3) Remove the protective caps in the primary brake line port and fill the re...

1999 Polaris Scrambler 400 4X4 Part 2. Brakes locked up! Master cylinder flush/clean So testing the Scrambler out, I drove it for about 35 minutes and it felt like it was losing power, the brakes also felt tight. I slowed down and it stopped me immediately and the brakes were locked up. I let it cool down and drove it back to the garage thinking it might be a hung up caliper, but no, it was the master cylinder for the brakes! Glad I wasn't going 60MPH and have them lock on me. CONTAMINATED FLUID! I tried flushing the reservoir on the bike with new DOT3 fluid but it would not clear out the crap so I had to disassemble it and clean it out. I then bled all the lines to the calipers. Works like new again :). I recommend checking/ Changing your brake fluid on these older machines. I love doin...

Learn how to replace a leaky brake master cylinder in this video. I also show you how to bench bleed the new cylinder before installing it on the car and also how to bleed the brakes once you've installed it. This is on a 2001 Kia Sportage but that is unimportant. The information in this video is universal to all cars without anti-lock brakes.
Watch me rebuild and unstick the seized rear master cylinder on my Suzuki motorcycle. Being able to maintain your bike is a critical component of self sufficiency. This project cost me about 40 dollars instead of the 200+ the dealer wanted to charge me. Please give me some positive feedback if warranted, and any kind advice is appreciated with respect to my brand new channel. Stay tuned for more videos. Some will be motorcycle related, but most will be focused on topics of greater interest to the self reliant community. I appreciate your subs and your support.
