Juanita Gunter Humberd, entered peacefully into the presence of the Lord, Her Savior, on, Oct. 12, 2016. Juanita was born in Kentucky, but grew up in Hixson, and graduated from Hixson High School, where she met and married her high-school sweetheart, Ed. They made their home and raised their family in Hixson, their remaining life. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, Minnie and Lonnie Gunter; husband of 61 years, James Edward; sister, Margaret Goodson Coulter; and infant daughter, Catherine Ann. Juanita was a faithful member of Hixson United Methodist Church. Left to cherish her memory include her sons, William (Bill) and wife Debbie, Joseph (Perry), his wife Becky; her fiancée, Charles Welch, six grand children, six great- grandchildren, one great great- grandchild; three sisters, Reba, Ruth and Dean, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 3 p.m., Saturday, in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Reed Shell officiating. Interment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from noon to 3 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home. The family extends special thanks to the caregivers, Doctors and Hospice of Chattanooga for their compassionate care for Juanita Gunter Humberd. Pallbearers will be John Poarch, Anthony Mosgrove, Cornelius Harris, James Williams , Tom Liner, Larry Hambly and Eddie Brasher.
