Abraham (/ˈeɪbrəˌhæm, -həm/ (Hebrew: אַבְרָהָם, listen )), birthname Abram, is the first of the three biblical patriarchs. His story, told in chapters 11 through 25 of the Book of Genesis, plays a prominent role in Judaism, Christianity, Islam and the Bahá'í Faith.
According to Jewish tradition and the Bible's internal chronology, Abraham was born in the year 1948 from Creation (1813 BCE). To date, there has been little if any archaeological or other scientific evidence to confirm his existence at that time. Scholars variously consider Abraham to have lived as late as the seventh century BCE, or that he is a later, literary construct and not a historical person. Potentially, excavation of his traditional burial site, the Cave of the Patriarchs at Hebron, along with carbon dating and/or DNA analysis from the bodies in comparison with the shared Y-chromosomal genes among Jewish and Arab people, his patriarchal offspring by tradition, could provide evidence confirming his existence and chronology.

Abraham Abele Gombiner (Hebrew: אברהם אבלי הלוי גומבינר) (c. 1635 – 5 October 1682), known as the Magen Avraham, born in Gąbin (Gombin), Poland, was a rabbi, Talmudist and a leading religious authority in the Jewish community of Kalish, Poland during the seventeenth century. His full name is Avraham Avli ben Chaim HaLevi from the town of Gombin. There are texts that list his family name as Kalisch after the city of his residence. After his parents were killed in the Chmielnicki massacres of 1648, he moved to live and study with his relative in Leszno, Jacob Isaac Gombiner.
He is known to scholars of Judaism for his Magen Avraham commentary on the Orach Chayim section of Rabbi Joseph Karo's Shulchan Aruch, which he began writing in 1665 and finished in 1671. His brother Yehudah traveled in 1673 to Amsterdam to print the work, but did not have the needed funds, and died on the journey. It was not published until 1692 by Shabbethai Bass in Dyhernfurth after Rabbi Gombiner’s death. His son Chaim wrote in the preface to the work that his father was frequently sick and suffered pain and discomfort.

The Maghen Abraham Synagogue (Arabic: كنيس ماغين أبراهام - "Kanīs Mā'ghīn Abrā'hām"; Hebrew: בית הכנסת מגן אברהם - "Beth HaKenesset Maghen Abraham") is one of the main synagogues in Lebanon.
Located in the Jewish district of Wadi Abu Jamil in Beirut, the synagogue was destroyed during the Lebanese Civil War. Restoration of the synagogue began in May 2009. In August 2010, renovations were nearing completion, with finishing touches being made to the interior of the building.
In 2014, a Muslim lawyer who handles the affairs of Jews in Beirut said there are only two rabbis to lead the synagogue and denied reports that the synagogue would be reopened.
An older synagogue in Beirut was demolished in 502 by a great earthquake which destroyed several cities in Lebanon.Maghen Abraham was constructed in 1925 and named after the son of Abraham Sassoon, Moise Abraham Sassoon of Calcutta, on land donated by Isaac Mann. It was designed by the architect Bindo Manham and construction was overseen by Ezra Benjamin and Joseph Balayla." Because of insufficient funding, the head of the Jewish community, Josef Farhi, helped in completing the interior. The synagogue was also used for Torah and scientific lectures, weddings and other festive events.

For Historical purposes, some information, in the description, and interviews may be repeated. In Beirut the main synagogue's name was Magen Abraham. It was one of seventeen synagogues in the city (The Official Site of the Lebanese Jewish Community Council). It was built in 1926, after some delay due to World War One. Although its main purpose was a house of worship, it was also used as a school, and it was part of an underground railroad. The synagogue helped unify the Jews of Beirut, because previously there were many small houses of worship for different social classes. Once the communal synagogue was built, many of the Jews of Beirut prayed together (Magen-Abraham, Synagogue, Wadi Bujmil, Beirut). The Alliance was an organization established in 1860 in Paris. Rabbi Michael Skobac, Director of Education of Jews for Judaism presents "YOUR UNIQUE SELF: Individuality in Judaism". Many people think that Judaism demands that serious, committed Jews must “fall in line” and be “just so”. However, Judaism encourages each one of us to find the true person we really are, but to celebrate our own individual uniqueness in conjunction with a commitment to Jewish values and teaching. http://www.jewsforjudaism.ca • Donate https://www.canadahelps.org/dn/24741 •JEWS FOR JUDAISM is an international organization dedicated to countering the growing multi-million dollar efforts of Christian missionary groups that target Jews, the impact of cults and eastern religions, assimilation and other challenges to Jewish continuity. Rabbi Michael Skobac, Director of Education of Jews for Judaism presents "UNDERSTANDING THE ORAL TORAH". Judaism teaches that in addition to the Torah, which was given to the Jews at Mount Sinai, there also exists an Oral Law: Jews for Jesus, Messianic Jews and Jewish Christians don’t think so.
