Memoria AMIA
Se convocó a cien referentes de la música popular argentina de todos los géneros y de distintas generaciones, que se unieron para interpretar juntos “La Memoria”, la canción escrita por León Gieco.
Más allá del nombre de cada una de las tragedias, compartimos el compromiso contra el olvido y la impunidad.
Bajo esta premisa, la AMIA decidió conmemorar el 22º aniversario del atentado terrorista que sufrió el 18 de julio de 1994, con una iniciativa artística y colectiva que impulsó no sólo para pedir Justicia para su propia causa, sino para todas las tragedias que, como sociedad, no debemos olvidar. Somos lo que recordamos.

EL MUNDO NO EXISTE SIN MEMORIA
¿Existiría nuestro mundo si no pudiéramos recordarlo? ¿Es el presente que vivimos en realidad el pasado? Estas y otras son algunas de las preguntas que intentaremos responder esta semana en Redes. La complejidad del cerebro ha sido y es objeto de innumerables estudios, pero sigue siendo el más desconocido de nuestros órganos. Sin duda es también el más fascinante y supone un estimulante enigma para los científicos.
Cada día conocemos más acerca de como procesa el cerebro la información que proviene de los sentidos y que importancia tienen adjudicados cada uno de ellos en la corteza cerebral. Pero aun estamos lejos de comprender el infinitamente complejo funcionamiento de nuestro órgano más complejo. Podemos en realidad estudiar el cerebro, siendo éste la misma herramienta utilizada para estudiarlo?
Esta semana tendremos con nosotros a Ranulfo Romo, Neurobiólogo de la IFC-UNAM, México. Los trabajos de este gran científico sobre los códigos neurales de la percepción, la memoria y la decisión están resultando decisivos en la neurobiología actual. Hoy nos habla de un gran enigma aún por descifrar: cómo es la relación entre la actividad neuronal y nuestros sentidos.

Game: Final Fantasy IX
Opinion: Creepy yet relaxing or haunting yet melodic? Memoria comes at the end of a game best described as light hearted, feel good and far removed from the clinically depressed outlook of VII or the personality deficient characters wandering aimlessly the lands of VIII. My first time through I remember thinking "wait wat? Where did this plot come from?". Of course, there IS a plot in FFIX but it's certainly more subtle, in Memoria the Gooch turns it up full blast and revels in the wonder and amazement of the sensory overload of glorious (for the time) graphics and art, articulate and thought provoking dialogue and serious tension all set to the splendid backdrop of the genius of Nobuo Uematsu titled the very same.
This track, like most of the soundtrack, is a wonder. Deep rich bass blends into gloriously smooth mids sending shivers down the spine to the constant chimes and bells. I don't think Memoria (the location) would be half as effective without Memoria (the song). Not just so, but this track makes fantastic study fodder. So here you go, over 25 minutes of Memoria looped at 320kbps or so, for those of us who find the 15 minute offerings on Youtube just aren't long enough.

Memoria
Memoria was the term for aspects involving memory in Western classical rhetoric. The word is Latin, and can be translated as "memory."
It was one of five canons in classical rhetoric (the others being inventio, dispositio, elocutio, and pronuntiatio) concerned with the crafting and delivery of speeches and prose.
The art of rhetoric grew out of oratory, which was the central medium for intellectual and political life in ancient Greece. Legal proceedings, political debates, philosophical inquiry were all conducted through spoken discourse. Many of the great texts from that age were not written texts penned by the authors we associate them with, but were instead orations written down by followers and students. In Roman times, while there was a much greater body of written work, oration was still the medium for critical debate. Unlike public speakers of today, who use notes or who read their speeches, good orators were expected to deliver their speeches without such aids.
Memoria was the discipline of recalling the arguments of a discourse. It generally received less attention from writers than other parts of rhetoric, as there is less to be said about the subject. However, the need to memorize speeches did influence the structure of discourse to some extent. For example, as part of dispositio, some attention was paid to creating structures (such as the divisio, an outline of the major arguments of a discourse) that would also aid memory. Some writers also discussed the use of various mnenomic devices to assist speakers.

James Franco
James Edward Franco (born April 19, 1978) is an American actor and filmmaker. His first prominent acting role was the lead character Daniel Desario on the short-lived cult hit television program Freaks and Geeks. He later played the title character in the TV biographical film James Dean (2001), for which he won a Golden Globe Award. He played Harry Osborn in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy (2002–2007). He is also known for his roles in the films Flyboys (2006), Pineapple Express (2008), Milk (2008), 127 Hours (2010), Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011), Oz the Great and Powerful (2013), Spring Breakers (2013), This Is the End (2013), and The Interview (2014). He had a recurring role in the ABC soap opera General Hospital. For his role in 127 Hours (2010), Franco was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor. In 2014, he made his Broadway debut in Of Mice and Men.
Franco volunteers for the Art of Elysium charity and has taught a class at New York University in feature filmmaking and production. In 2013, he began teaching a course in short film production at the University of Southern California and a course in screenwriting at his alma mater, University of California, Los Angeles. In September 2015, Franco began teaching a film class to high school students at Palo Alto High School.

Thomas Mann
Paul Thomas Mann ([paʊ̯l toːmas man]; 6 June 1875 – 12 August 1955) was a German novelist, short story writer, social critic, philanthropist, essayist, and the 1929 Nobel Prize in Literature laureate. His highly symbolic and ironic epic novels and novellas are noted for their insight into the psychology of the artist and the intellectual. His analysis and critique of the European and German soul used modernized German and Biblical stories, as well as the ideas of Goethe, Nietzsche and Schopenhauer.
Mann was a member of the Hanseatic Mann family and portrayed his family and class in his first novel, Buddenbrooks. His older brother was the radical writer Heinrich Mann and three of his six children, Erika Mann, Klaus Mann and Golo Mann, also became important German writers. When Hitler came to power in 1933, Mann fled to Switzerland. When World War II broke out in 1939, he moved to the United States, returning to Switzerland in 1952. Thomas Mann is one of the best-known exponents of the so-called Exilliteratur, literature written in German by those who opposed or fled the Hitler regime.

Game: Final Fantasy IX Opinion: Creepy yet relaxing or haunting yet melodic? Memoria comes at the end of a game best described as light hearted, feel good and far removed from the clinically depressed outlook of VII or the personality deficient characters wandering aimlessly the lands of VIII. My first time through I remember thinking "wait wat? Where did this plot come from?". Of course, there IS a plot in FFIX but it's certainly more subtle, in Memoria the Gooch turns it up full blast and revels in the wonder and amazement of the sensory overload of glorious (for the time) graphics and art, articulate and thought provoking dialogue and serious tension all set to the splendid backdrop of the genius of Nobuo Uematsu titled the very same. This track, like most of the soundtrack, is a wonder. Deep rich bass blends into gloriously smooth mids sending shivers down the spine to the constant chimes and bells. I don't think Memoria (the location) would be half as effective without Memoria (the song). Not just so, but this track makes fantastic study fodder. So here you go, over 25 minutes of Memoria looped at 320kbps or so, for those of us who find the 15 minute offerings on Youtube just aren't long enough. Memoria AMIA Se convocó a cien referentes de la música popular argentina de todos los géneros y de distintas generaciones, que se unieron para interpretar juntos “La Memoria”, la canción escrita por León Gieco. Se convocó a cien referentes de la música popular argentina de todos los géneros y de distintas generaciones, que se unieron para interpretar juntos “La Memoria”, la canción escrita por León Gieco.
Más allá del nombre de cada una de las tragedias, compartimos el compromiso contra el olvido y la impunidad.
Bajo esta premisa, la AMIA decidió conmemorar el 22º aniversario del atentado terrorista que sufrió el 18 de julio de 1994, con una iniciativa artística y colectiva que impulsó no sólo para pedir Justicia para su propia causa, sino para todas las tragedias que, como sociedad, no debemos olvidar. Somos lo que recordamos.

¿Existiría nuestro mundo si no pudiéramos recordarlo? ¿Es el presente que vivimos en realidad el pasado? Estas y otras son algunas de las preguntas que intentaremos responder esta semana en Redes. La complejidad del cerebro ha sido y es objeto de innumerables estudios, pero sigue siendo el más desconocido de nuestros órganos. Sin duda es también el más fascinante y supone un estimulante enigma para los científicos.
Cada día conocemos más acerca de como procesa el cerebro la información que proviene de los sentidos y que importancia tienen adjudicados cada uno de ellos en la corteza cerebral. Pero aun estamos lejos de comprender el infinitamente complejo funcionamiento de nuestro órgano más complejo. Podemos en realidad estudiar el cerebro, siendo éste la misma herramienta utilizada para estudiarlo?
Esta semana tendremos con nosotros a Ranulfo Romo, Neurobiólogo de la IFC-UNAM, México. Los trabajos de este gran científico sobre los códigos neurales de la percepción, la memoria y la decisión están resultando decisivos en la neurobiología actual. Hoy nos habla de un gran enigma aún por descifrar: cómo es la relación entre la actividad neuronal y nuestros sentidos.

¿Existiría nuestro mundo si no pudiéramos recordarlo? ¿Es el presente que vivimos en realidad el pasado? Estas y otras son algunas de las preguntas que intentaremos responder esta semana en Redes. La complejidad del cerebro ha sido y es objeto de innumerables estudios, pero sigue siendo el más desconocido de nuestros órganos. Sin duda es también el más fascinante y supone un estimulante enigma para los científicos.
Cada día conocemos más acerca de como procesa el cerebro la información que proviene de los sentidos y que importancia tienen adjudicados cada uno de ellos en la corteza cerebral. Pero aun estamos lejos de comprender el infinitamente complejo funcionamiento de nuestro órgano más complejo. Podemos en realidad estudiar el cerebro, siendo éste la misma herramienta utilizada para estudiarlo?
Esta semana tendremos con nosotros a Ranulfo Romo, Neurobiólogo de la IFC-UNAM, México. Los trabajos de este gran científico sobre los códigos neurales de la percepción, la memoria y la decisión están resultando decisivos en la neurobiología actual. Hoy nos habla de un gran enigma aún por descifrar: cómo es la relación entre la actividad neuronal y nuestros sentidos.
También contaremos esta semana con los conocimientos de Mara Dierssen, Investigadora en Neurociencias, CRG

Opinion: Creepy yet relaxing or haunting yet melodic? Memoria comes at the end of a game best described as light hearted, feel good and far removed from the clinically depressed outlook of VII or the personality deficient characters wandering aimlessly the lands of VIII. My first time through I remember thinking "wait wat? Where did this plot come from?". Of course, there IS a plot in FFIX but it's certainly more subtle, in Memoria the Gooch turns it up full blast and revels in the wonder and amazement of the sensory overload of glorious (for the time) graphics and art, articulate and thought provoking dialogue and serious tension all set to the splendid backdrop of the genius of Nobuo Uematsu titled the very same.
This track, like most of the soundtrack, is a wonder. Deep rich bass blends into gloriously smooth mids sending shivers down the spine to the constant chimes and bells. I don't think Memoria (the location) would be half as effective without Memoria (the song). Not just so, but this track makes fantastic study fodder. So here you go, over 25 minutes of Memoria looped at 320kbps or so, for those of us who find the 15 minute offerings on Youtube just aren't long enough.
