Daniel Davis (born November 26, 1945) is an American stage, screen, and television actor best known for portraying Niles the butler on the popular sitcom The Nanny and his guest appearances as Professor Moriarty on Star Trek: The Next Generation, affecting an upper class English accent for both roles.
Davis was born in Gurdon, Arkansas, and first became interested in acting at a young age, when his parents operated and owned a movie theatre. He specifically enjoyed Tyrone Power movies, stating later that they were what inspired his desire to act. His first acting job was at the age of 11, when he was cast on a local Little Rock broadcast program called Betty's Little Rascals. Davis graduated from Hall High School in Little Rock in 1963. He studied at the Arkansas Arts Center, followed by work with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, the Stratford Shakespeare Festival, and six years with the American Conservatory Theatre; during his time at ACT, he also taught acting.
Davis first became popular in daytime television playing opposite Beverlee McKinsey as her character Iris Cory's formear Mr, Elliot Carrington, on the soap opera Texas, a spin-off of Another World, from October 1980 through December 1981. In 1985 he played a renegade soldier in the Season 4 episode of the television series The A-Team "The Doctor is Out".

Jeff Clement, with assistance from Alicia Pavlis, narrates this tale by author Daniel Davis, as featured in 2013′s horror anthology Daylight Dims, about a couple falling out of love, who are traveling through the wheat, corn and hay fields of Nebraska at the peak of summer heat, with their young daughter Chelsea in tow. When the father, Rick, inadvertently wrecks their family car after swerving to avoid a jagged piece of metal in the center of his lane, he tasks his daughter with watching for passing cars to flag down for help. When Rick and his wife Marie notice that Chelsea is missing, they panic. Any parents in our audience are bound to find this story absolutely terrifying, because, in all likelihood, this could happen to any of us.

This is a tongue in cheek video, the symphony was "performed" by my music Finale 2011 software program, the pictures are original as are the slides of the presentation. The music was composed in 1994-1995 as a response to a short-attention spanned student, who could not concentrate on anything for more than a few seconds. So over the Christmas break I composed 3 micro-symphonies, I allowed myself 24 hours to compose it, and an additional 24 hours to orchestrate it. There is a bit of a ridiculous joke in the symphonies, a massively large orchestra for a multi-movement symphony that is about a minute long. The piece is over before the "audience" is even settled in. Micro Symphony Two is the long one lasting a whopping 73 seconds, Symphony 3 (the hocket) is constructed out of the composition ... -

This is a tongue in cheek video, the symphony was "performed" by my music Finale 2011 software program, the pictures are original as are the slides of the presentation. The music was composed in 1994-1995 as a response to a short-attention spanned student, who could not concentrate on anything for more than a few seconds. So over the Christmas break I composed 3 micro-symphonies, I allowed myself 24 hours to compose it, and an additional 24 hours to orchestrate it. There is a bit of a ridiculous joke in the symphonies, a massively large orchestra for a multi-movement symphony that is about a minute long. The piece is over before the "audience" is even settled in. Micro Symphony Two is the long one lasting a whopping 73 seconds, Symphony 3 (the hocket) is constructed out of the composition technique of the hocket, Symphony #4 is a homage to Charles Ives and is also a palindrome, Symphony #5 is built around one expansive chord. I was also inspired to compose a Micro Piano Concerto with a cadenza, and the final group is a concert overture called The Mad Press - kind of a political statement regarding the abusive practices of the press in politics. Years later in 2006 my Micro creative juices created an opera based on Alexander the Great. The full history in under 5 minutes. The opera is still in need of finishing, rough sketches are complete, orchestration is not, and the video creative team has dropped the ball. So I am rewriting it to be performed live as an opera within an opera and will last somewhere between 10 and 15 minutes, and accompanied by piano (to be orchestrated later). While assembling a catalog of my compositions, I have discovered several "micro" like compositions. I could continue about the artistic qualities of the Micro compositions and the why.
