I agree Fiona W that these are moment to moment ideas. I just can't imagine Frank Lloyd Wright taking one bit of notice of these "trends" and every one of his beautifully designed homes is a joy and timeless. The effects came from beautiful proportions and the time spent on thinking about a rooms purpose. Add the perfectly crafted timber work and you have a special place that doesn't need any frou frou.

I just suppose that those with the money and insecurities about their style are what keep the designers in business. { or am I just a tad jealous}

Yes, I love seeing the new trends. It's fun. I like looking at pretty pictures. It's a needed break for my mind from sobering current events such as Aleppo and other examples of violence. I've always loved wing chairs, but the traditional ones are too massive and heavy looking for my space. I LOVE the color of the one shown here, and the way the light wood colored legs does away with the heaviness but keeps the comfort intact. I also love the textured paneled wood around the fireplace. Very feminine and modern. If the panel was glossy, it would be a cinch to dust with a duster. I want the pink modern wing chair in that room with white sheepskin rug, my kindle and my pets. The dark green cabinets would look great in the mountain town I live in. Great in a log cabin for a break from the wood walls and floors, and warmer than all the gray cabinets I've seen, especially on winter days when everything outside the window is either white or gray.
