Lee Alexander McQueen, CBE (17 March 1969 – 11 February 2010) was a British fashion designer and couturier. He is known for having worked as chief designer at Givenchy from 1996 to 2001 and for founding his own Alexander McQueen label. His achievements in fashion earned him four British Designer of the Year awards (1996, 1997, 2001 and 2003), as well as the CFDA's International Designer of the Year award in 2003. McQueen committed suicide in 2010 at the age of forty.
Born on 17 March 1969 in Lewisham, London, to Scottishtaxi driver Ronald and social science teacher Joyce, McQueen was the youngest of six children. While he reportedly grew up in a council flat, the McQueens had lived in a terraced house in Stratford since McQueen was less than a year old. He attended Carpenters Road Primary School, started making dresses for his three sisters at a young age, and announced his intention to become a fashion designer.
McQueen later attended Rokeby School and left aged 16 in 1985 with one O-level in art, going on to serve an apprenticeship with Savile Row tailors Anderson & Sheppard, before joining Gieves & Hawkes and, later, the theatrical costumiers Angels and Bermans. While serving his apprenticeship, McQueen attended the Rosetta Studio Workshops led by Yvonne Humble. The skills he learned as an apprentice on Savile Row helped earn him a reputation in the fashion world as an expert in creating an impeccably tailored look.
David Robert Jones (8 January 1947 – 10 January 2016), known as David Bowie (/ˈboʊ.i/), was an English singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, painter, and actor. He was a figure in popular music for over five decades, and was considered by critics and musicians as an innovator, particularly for his work in the 1970s. His career was marked by reinvention and visual presentation, and his music and stagecraft significantly impacted popular music. During his lifetime, he sold an estimated 140 million records worldwide. In the UK, he was awarded nine platinum album certifications, eleven gold and eight silver, and released eleven number-one albums. In the US, he received five platinum and seven gold certifications. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996.

50,000 metal triangles make up British designer Benjamin Hubert's undulating Foil installation, which casts light onto the V&A;'s medieval tapestries. Created through his studio Layer, Foil is a 20-metre-long kinetic sculpture running down the London museum's elongated tapestry room. Tiny triangles of stainless steel cover the structure, which was created with support from Braun and takes inspiration from the German manufacturer's electric razors. "We wanted to take some of that super-German engineering, and some of the things people overlook in shavers and products like that and turn up the volume on it, turn up the scale," Hubert told Dezeen. The video shows the enameller Jane Short making a brooch. Enamel is coloured glass. The glass is ground to a fine powder, then laid onto a metal surface and fired in a kiln at a great heat to make it melt and fuse. The design develops out of a series of rough sketches.

Avant garde British designer Alexander McQueen has shown his Spring/Summer 2001 collection inside a mirrored glass box in one of the most hotly anticipated shows of the London Fashion Week. In an elaborately staged show
Lately I've been thinking that I don't feel like I used to do.
I'm trying to keep my two feet on the ground.
Constantly surrounded everywhere I turn I'm hounded,
people stop and stare and look me up and down.
Now you shouldn't feel down from what everybody says
and don't let it bother you if anybody stares,
'cause you know that at times people can be cruel,
try to put you down make you feel like a fool.
But you got one shot now don't you ever stop,
keep your dreams high keep reachin' for the top,
'cause you know and I know if they had the chance
they'd be climbin' up on the stage trying to dance.
CHORUS
C'mon C'mon and get together.
Lets take a chance, it's now or never,
spread the word over the nation
that we are the new generation.
C'mon C'mon and get together.
Start living your life like it's forever.
Don't wanna stop if you're dreamin',
let everybody know what you're feeling.
Questions I can't answer got me going round in circles.
Make me feel as though I'm losing self control.
It's feeling like a dream to me. I've lost a touch of reality
deep inside I've searched with my soul.
Now it's good to keep searching and bettering yourself
but don't push too hard 'cause it's bad for your health.
And running round in circles will always get you dizzy.
And thinking too much that will make your head busy,
so just sit back and relax, you gotta chill.
I promise that all of your dreams will be fulfilled.
One day if you keep on looking you'll find,
you just gotta go with your heart and your mind.
CHORUS x6
