The Germanic name is composed of the words for "fame" (hlūd) and "warrior" (wīg) which may be translated to famous warrior or "famous in battle".

Luis Miguel

Luis Miguel Gallego Basteri (April 19, 1970), known professionally as Luis Miguel, is a Mexican singer and an icon in Latin America, he is often referred to as El Sol de México. He is one of the most successful artists in Latin American history, having successfully performed in a wide range of musical styles, including pop, ballads, boleros and mariachi. To date, he has sold over 100 million records worldwide.

Latin pop music, along with his personal life and showmanship on stage, has made Luis Miguel an icon for nearly his entire career, which started in Mexico in 1981. Having won his first Grammy Award at the age of fourteen for his duet "Me Gustas Tal Como Eres" with Sheena Easton, he is the third youngest act in music history to receive this accolade. In 1991, the RIAA recognized the high sales for his 1991 album Romance, itself being the best-selling music album in Mexico, and one of the best-selling Spanish language albums of all time. He is the only Latin artist to have been awarded two Platinum certified Spanish-language albums in the United States (Romance and Segundo Romance). His most recent album, Luis Miguel, was released in 2010 and achieved gold and platinum certifications in four countries within three days of its release.

Luis Alfonso Rodríguez López-Cepero, more commonly known by his stage name Luis Fonsi, (born April 15, 1978) is a Latin Grammy winning Puerto Rican singer, composer and dancer.

Early life

Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on April 15, 1978 to parents Luis Rodriguez and Delia "Tata" Lopez-Cepero. Fonsi and his family later moved to Orlando, Florida, during Fonsi's early childhood. Fonsi has two younger siblings; Tatiana Rodriguez and Jean Rodriguez who is also a singer.

In 1995, Fonsi enrolled at Florida State University to study music. He also joined the school's choir and sang with the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.

Career

In July 9, 2011, Billboard named Luis Fonsi "Leader of Latin Music's New Generation"

After graduating from Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando, Fonsi decided to better prepare himself for a future, stable career inside show business. He was offered a full scholarship to attend Florida State University School of Music. while he was finishing his degree in Vocal Performance, he began to record demo tapes in Miami. Soon after that he was offered a recording contract by Universal Music Latino.
