Assassin's Creed

Assassin's Creed is an action-adventure video game series that consists of nine main games and a number of supporting materials, as of 2015. The games have appeared on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, Nintendo DS, PlayStation Portable, PlayStation Vita, iOS, HP webOS,Android, Nokia Symbian Windows Phone platforms, and the Wii U.

The games are set in a fictional history of real world events and follows the centuries-old struggle between the Assassins, who fight for peace with free will, and the Templars, who desire peace through control. The main games in the franchise were developed by Ubisoft Montreal for the single player and Ubisoft Annecy for the multiplayer, with the handheld titles developed by Gameloft and Gryptonite Studios, with additional development by Ubisoft Montreal. The series has been well received by the public and critics, and has sold over 73 million copies as of April 2014, becoming Ubisoft's best selling franchise. The series took inspiration from the novel Alamut by the Slovenian writer Vladimir Bartol, while building upon concepts from the Prince of Persia series.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood is a 2010 action-adventure video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. It is the third major installment in the Assassin's Creed series, a direct sequel to 2009's Assassin's Creed II, and the second chapter in the 'Ezio trilogy'. The game was first released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in November and December 2010, and was later made available on Microsoft Windows in March and June 2011.

The plot is set in a fictional history of real world events and follows the centuries-old struggle between the Assassins, who fight for peace with free will, and the Templars, who desire peace through control. The framing story is set in the 21st century and features series protagonist Desmond Miles who, with the aid of a machine known as the Animus, relives the memories of his ancestors to find a way to avert the 2012 apocalypse. The main story takes place immediately after the plot of Assassin's Creed II, featuring Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze in 16th century ,Italy and his quest to restore the Assassin order, and destroy his enemies: the Borgia family.

Ezio Auditore da Firenze (Italian pronunciation: [ˈettsjo audiˈtoːre da fiˈrentse]) is a fictional character in the video game series Assassin's Creed. His career as an assassin during the Italian Renaissance serves as central plot of Assassin's Creed II, II: Discovery, Brotherhood, and Revelations, as well as the animated short film Embers. Ezio also makes an appearance as a playable character in the fighting game Soulcalibur V.

Ezio is an ancestor of Desmond Miles, the protagonist of most of the series' backstory, who experiences Ezio's life through a device unlocking hidden memories inside his DNA. First appearing in Assassins Creed II, a young Ezio witnesses the execution of his father and brothers at the hands of Templar conspirators. After killing the man responsible for their deaths, Ezio begins a journey to avenge his family and free Italy from Templar control. While rebuilding the Assassin Order, Ezio breaks the Templar dominance in Italy, Spain and the Ottoman Empire. In his later years, Ezio begins his search for Altaïr's library in Masyaf and helps restore the Ottoman Assassin Order. After discovering Altaïr's piece of Eden, he decides to retire from the Assassin order to live a more peaceful life. The character as such, his depiction, personality and development, as well as the chronicling of his entire life have received critical acclaim.
