A Foreign Minister or Minister of Foreign Affairs is generally a cabinet minister in charge of a state's foreign policy and relations.
In some nations, such as India, the Foreign Minister is referred to as the Minister for External Affairs or, as in the case of Brazil and of the former Soviet Union, as the Minister of External Relations. In the United States the equivalent to the foreign ministry is called the Department of State, and the equivalent position is known as the Secretary of State. Other common titles may include minister of foreign relations. In many Spanish and Portuguese speaking countries in Latin America, the foreign minister is colloquially called canciller (chancellor).
A foreign minister's powers can vary from government to government. In a classic parliamentary system, a foreign minister can potentially exert significant influence in forming foreign policy but when the government is dominated by a strong prime minister the foreign minister may be limited to playing a more marginal or subsidiary role in determining policy. Similarly, the political powers invested in the foreign minister are often more limited in presidential governments with a strong executive. Since the end of World War II, it has been common for both the foreign minister and defense minister to be part of an inner cabinet (commonly known as a national security council) in order to coordinate defense and diplomatic policy. Although the 19th and early 20th centuries saw many heads of government assume the foreign ministry, this practice has since become uncommon in most developed nations.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation (Russian MFA; Russian: Министерство иностранных дел Российской Федерации, МИД РФ) is the central government institution charged with leading the foreign policy and foreign relations of Russia. It is a continuation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic, which was under the supervision of the Soviet Ministry of External Relations. Sergey Lavrov is the current foreign minister.
The ministry operates a network of overseas schools for children of Russian diplomats.

Oh, those crazy Russian! The spokeswoman for Russia's Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, well known for attention-grabbing behavior that includes writing politically-charged poems on social media and issuing various strong-worded criticisms directed at Western powers, has held her promise to journalists working at the Russia-ASEAN summit in Sochi and performed the traditional Russian Kalinka dance. Kalinka-malinka one of Russia's best known folk songs, which is often played in American ice hockey arenas, of all places.
Maria Zakharova, Russia's Foreign Affairs spokesperson, lets loose on a Western journalist after she is asked "Why is Russia supporting Assad, who is killing civilians?" The problem with Western mainstream media is that it relies on ignorance to create a worldview that consists of a series of RANDOM and DISCONNECTED events taken out of context. I think she made her points pretty clear - but who are the two countries blocking progress, at the UN Security Council level? As you know, there are 5 permanent members, and 10 rotating members. On April 7th, US warships delivered an illegal blow to a Syrian airbase in Homs. Their justification was the recent "chemical weapon" attack on behalf of the Syrian government in Idlib. The Kremlin condemned the strike as an act of aggression against a sovereign state, and a violation of international law. Meanwhile, at the UN, representatives of Western governments attempt to push through a resolution that is based on information taken out of thin air. It includes the removal of Assad, whether or not he was behind the attack. It is noteworthy, that the only real source of information on what took place, are the videos made by the White Helmets, an infamous propaganda organisation as it pertains to the Syrian civil war. In this clip, Maria Zakharova calls on Western respresenatives/ journ...

Maria Zakharova, Russia's Foreign Affairs Spokesperson, has stated on a national TV show that Obama will go down in history as one of the most evil Presidents and Administrations. We can only agree, that something along the lines of the Nuremburg trials for the Neocons would be most appropriate. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For current affairs, translations and analysis, check out http://www.Fort-Russ.com My vids also get uploaded to the Eurasia Daily page on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/eurasiadaily.nz/

Maria Zakharova, Russia’s Foreign Affairs Spokesperson, has come out in sharp criticism over a BBC article, published by a certain Paul Wood on 30 March 2017. In the article titled “Trump Russia dossier key claim verified” – Wood asserts that a key Russian diplomat, Mikhail Kalugin, has been verified to have been a Russian spy, and not a simple diplomat. “If anyone looks like a harmless economist, rather than a tough, arrogant KGB man, it is the bland-faced Kalugin.” – writes Wood. “In addition, State Department staff who dealt with Russia, did not come across Kalugin, as would have been expected with a simple diplomat.” “Nobody had met him …it's classic. Just classic [of Russian intelligence].” Zakharova responded that it is highly questionable whether “the US State Department ever know...

Spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova will conduct a weekly press briefing on current foreign policy issues at the ministry headquarters in Moscow on Thursday, August 25.
I kiss at last the beloved ground of my land,
That I left one day with my hard heart full of pain.
I have looked in the faces of my old friends,
But nobody looked at me as my old friends.
And now what happens you must, you must tell me.
You must remember who I am.
If you see a man with downcast eyes and ragged clothes,
Walking through your village, don't shun him but go
beside.
I'm that man and now I beg you, help me, I need you.
I need you.
The liar who told my sweetheart that I was dead,
To take my place, he shall pay for this base lie.
Those who saw me as a rundown man,
Those who tried to destroy all our world,
Shall leave forever our beloved land,
Because we are fearless men.
Because we are fearless men.
