Here is a piece of yesterday's newshour debate over the comments of Om Puri about the soldiers of Indian Army. My Take: Though the remarks are insensible, has hurt a lot of people and the reactions can be justified , we as Indians, we as human beings should be open to see the statements in its entire context and not just words. When we become emotional, we may end up saying a lot of negative things to our loved ones. That doesn't mean we really meant whatever we said. Maybe the issue is something else altogether. Maybe Om Puri is just plain frustrated because he wants peace and not war and the situation today is getting escalated almost towards a WAR. So let's not be conclusive guys, let's be more open to our brothers and sisters and understand them rather than just being decisive on some words. I believe Om Puri has never intentionally caused any damage to India or Indians and even if he has with his statement yesterday, he already has apologised for it. Having said that, let me also say that reactions, whether positive or negative, to any relevant things is necessary and should continue because it helps us grow as a society. But let us not go to extremes in the shadow of reactions. Some people just vent out their frustrations, of life, on socio-political targets. We all are, to some level, frustrated in our lives and as Buddha said, lets accept that life is a suffering. Don't let frustrations affect our thoughts, hence our life.
