UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Friday called for more protection for refugees and migrants after learning of latest loss of lives in the
Mediterranean and
Europe.
According to
Libya's
Red Crescent humanitarian organization, at least 105 migrants drowned in the Mediterranean when their boat capsized on the way to Europe on Friday. The rescuers had to break the ship's deck to reach the people trapped inside.
The UN High Commissioner for Refugees says some
100 people were rescued.
