"I never want my kids to go through half the sh*t I've been through, not even a quarter..." Benzino has worked hard to keep his children out of the streets. Benzino says it stems from his father having major ties to the mafia. His father did 20 years for being involved with the Italian Mafia. They respected his Dad, and this rubbed off on Benzino. His father had ties to the Italian, Irish, and Columbian Mafia. "Whatever he told me to do I did."

Benzino stopped by to talk with VladTV about his newborn baby, his baby mama drama, how he's keeping healthy, and how there needs to be more positivity in the black community. In the interview Benzino let us know the gym seems to be the only thing keeping him "sane" these days. He also got into what's going on with him and his baby's mother, Althea. "I love my son. I love Althea.. this is her first child so sometimes you get post pardon, emotions get crazy, things happen.." Benzino let us know that he's focused on his child and making his family work out. "I've been through so much Vlad. I try to keep my personal life private its hard to do that especially when you're on reality TV..."
Benzino also expressed his feelings on bloggers, and the Black Lives Matter movement. "These bloggers sometimes can be real mean and nasty.. if we gone talk about Black Lives Matter we need to kinda figure and adjust on how we report Black lives.. we're under this conclusion all press is good press and it's not." He went on to say if he feels it's hypocritical when people scream Black Lives Matter but report bad things on the Black culture.
Benzino went in-depth about growing up in the streets before his reality TV stardom began. "By the time I was 13, 14, I was selling Crack, Weed, and Heroin, I was a hustler." Benzino talked with us about going on to become successful in the hip-hop game and hustling the "legal" way.

Benzino
Raymond Scott, better known by his stage name Benzino, is an American hip hop media executive and record producer. From 2012 until 2014, he has appeared on VH1 TV series Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.
History
Benzino was born in Boston, Massachusetts to a Cape Verdean mother and a Puerto Rican father. Along with his longtime friend, David Mays, Benzino is known for being a principal of the hip hop magazine The Source, which was launched in 1988 as a single-sheet newsletter out of Mays' Harvard University dorm room.
Benzino was a founding member of rap groups The Almighty RSO and Made Men, before finally becoming a solo artist. He has appeared on the reality television show Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, since 2012. He has also dated Karlie Redd and Althea Heart.
Benzino was shot in the shoulder and back on March 29, 2014 by his nephew Gai Scott; the shooting took place in the town of Duxbury, Massachusetts, at his mother's funeral. The wounds were not fatal.
Feud with Eminem
Benzino is known for being involved, since 2002, in a widely publicized feud with rapper Eminem as Benzino called him "2003 Vanilla Ice". Since then the pair have been creating diss tracks about each other, including Benzino's "Pull Your Skirt Up" and "Die Another Day" or Eminem's "The Sauce" and "Nail in the Coffin". As a continuation of this animosity between the two, Benzino released a diss mixtape Benzino Presents: Die Another Day: Flawless Victory, disparaging Eminem and his record label.

Benzino let us know the trial hasn't happened yet in regards to his shooting, but he made it clear he never pointed out his nephew was the one who shot him, the only reason people found out is that his nephew confessed, but he still doesn't know who "shot him." Benzino and Vlad then got into a conversation about snitching. "If you sit there and say yea he shot me, and he gonna do 100 years, that's snitching on him... the reason why that code is so important is because when you're in the streets, and you're doing dirt you don't want people snitching on you..." Benzino explained this is something he taught his children as well. "We don't tell on anybody." " We're living in some f**ked up times right now when I grew up it was different; you would get f**ked up royally for snitching."
Benzino continued the conversation about his children letting us know he doesn't want them to take the route that he did. He said all of his kids are walking the right path. The Hip-Hop Weekly publisher says Young should be ashamed of herself for encouraging negativity on her show and for refusing to be honest enough to say why he and Althea were actually let go. She does say in the interview that she believes Benzino and his partner Althea are actually in love, are good people, and that she wishes them the best. This directly contradicts Stevie J's statement that the couple was kicked off because Zino threatened the cast and crew.
Zino also feels that Mona makes up and manipulates storylines for the sake of the show, and that much of the "reality" show is very unrealistic. When it's brought to his attention that many will say he had no problem with the show before he was let go, Benzino responds by saying he never participated in any of the outlandish behavior that LHH has become known for and was always a voice of reason and maturity on the show.

In this exclusive, Benzino divulges some unknown information regarding him and The Almighty RSO in relation to Eazy. According to him, Eazy-E and RSO had a meeting at The Source offices back in 1994. It was then that Eazy offered them their first-ever album deal, and from that point on up until his death, they continued to work out legal deals before they could make things official - Benzino tells us the group was supposed to get up to $450,000 once they signed to Ruthless Records.
The light on the deal began to dim as Eazy E was continuously admitted into the hospital, a bout Benzino thought was over bronchitis and pneumonia. He says Eazy told him he simply "got a cold" and was "just getting checked out," and being that he had no reason to doubt him, he didn't (although he couldn't help but to notice "his voice was real raspy"). At this point RSO was sending cassette tapes to the hospital so Eazy could listen to them, but about a month after Benzino saw him last, he received a phone call informing him of Eazy's demise following a short-lived battle with AIDS. "That moment forever kinda changed my life," Benzino remembers. "He was looking good," he continues as he takes us back to the weeks leading up to his death. "I mean, you didn't see no signs of him deteriorating."
In the end, "we just never made it," he says of RSO and the deal that never came to be with Ruthless. Listen above as he explains why "Straight Outta Compton" is "kinda hard" for him to go see, and why when it comes to the Eazy death theories, "we'll never find out when it's all said and done."

He claims that he suddenly heard shots go off while driving in his car towards his mother's funeral, but never actually saw the shooter.
It took him nearly a full half-hour to get to the hospital, at which point he was fearful that he actually might die because his arm was bleeding profusely. Apparently his nephew phoned in to police and admitted to shooting Benzino out of self-defense. Benzino stated that if it comes down to testifying in trial, he won't name his nephew as the shooter because he never saw him pull the trigger.
