Woody Allen's quirky futuristic film "Sleeper" released in 1973 had an amazing scene where Dr. Melik, portrayed by Mary Gregory, and Dr. Aragon, characterized by John McLiam, have a conversation about Allen's character who just woke up after 200 years to a future he doesn't recognize. This particular scene was especially prescient in light of the constant changes we see in the research about what is healthy for us and what is not. Here's the transcript of the enlightening exchange:

I do question why a clever man like Beck Hansen is still with the fraudulent Church of Scientology. Even Ron Hubbard's own son spoke out against that ridiculous religion which is based on lies. Although L.Ron Hubbard's name is on the patent application of the E-meter, it was actually invented by a chiropractor named Volney Mathison, and was originally called the Mathison Model B Electropsychometer which was promoted as an aid to psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, and psychotherapy is ironically loathed and detested by the Church of Scientology. But of course they don't tell you this when they want to recruit you and demand for your money. I may be a cynic but i am also a philanthropist. Please do pass on this information for it could save lives and money of troubled vulnerable people. Many of us have downers at some points in our lives.

I do question why a clever man like Beck Hansen is still with the fraudulent Church of Scientology. Even Ron Hubbard's own son spoke out against that ridiculous religion which is based on lies. Also, please note (http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~dst/Secrets/E-Me ter/). Although L.Ron Hubbard's name is on the patent application of the E-meter, it was actually invented by a chiropractor named Volney Mathison, and was originally called the Mathison Model B Electropsychometer which was promoted as an aid to psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, and psychotherapy is ironically loathed and detested by the Church of Scientology. But of course they don't tell you this when they want to recruit you and demand for your money. I may be a cynic but i am also a philanthropist. Please do pass on this information for it could save lives and money of troubled vulnerable people. Many of us have downers at some points in our lives.
