America's Funniest People is an American reality series on ABC that debuted on May 1, 1990 as an hour-long special, and later as a weekly half-hour prime time series from September 8, 1990 to August 28, 1994. It was hosted by Dave Coulier and Arleen Sorkin from 1990 to 1992. Tawny Kitaen replaced Sorkin in 1992. The announcer was Ernie Anderson. Dan Slider composed the theme song, which was performed by Peter Hix.
The format was similar to America's Funniest Home Videos, with the main difference that while America's Funniest Home Videos spent the majority of its time with accidental follies captured on tape, America's Funniest People focused on people intentionally trying to be funny, doing things such as telling jokes, doing impressions, singing, dancing, performing scripted material, attempting wacky stunts, pulling pranks, etc.
Like America's Funniest Home Videos, America's Funniest People featured a contest for funniest video, with the first prize winner receiving $10,000 and the 2nd and 3rd prize winners receiving $3,000 and $2,000 respectively. However, unlike Funniest Home Videos, which relied on studio audience voting to determine the winner, Funniest People originally selected its winners via telephone vote, with the winners announced at the beginning of the next show.
America's Funniest Home Videos (often simply abbreviated to AFHV or its on-air abbreviation AFV) is an American reality television program on the American Broadcasting Company (ABC), which features humorous homemade videos that are submitted by viewers. The most common videos feature unintentional physical comedy (arising from incidents, accidents, and mishaps), pets or children, and some staged practical jokes.
Originally airing as a special on November 26, 1989, it debuted as a regular weekly series on January 14, 1990. Initially, it was hosted by Bob Saget for the 1989 special and the first eight seasons of the series incarnation, then by John Fugelsang and Daisy Fuentes for its ninth and tenth seasons. After two years of being shown as occasional specials, hosted by various actors and comedians such as D.L. Hughley and Richard Kind, ABC brought the series back on Friday nights in the summer of 2001 with new host Tom Bergeron, who has since become the series' longest-serving host. Before the show was renewed for a 25th season, Bergeron announced in March 2014 that he would be departing as host of the show after that season concluded. On May 7, 2015, ABC renewed the series for a 26th season; and Alfonso Ribeiro took over as host beginning with that season.
"America" is an American political advertisement released by the 2016 presidential campaign of Bernie Sanders. It premiered on January 21, 2016 via YouTube, and to air on television in Iowa and New Hampshire shortly before the Democratic Iowa caucus and New Hampshire primary.
The advertisement features "America," a song recorded by Simon & Garfunkel for their album Bookends (1968).
The ad starts with scenes of everyday American life over soft humming and gentle guitar strumming. As the line, "let us be lovers, we'll marry our fortunes together" plays in the background, a middle-aged couple dances at a small Bernie Sanders for President rally. Then Sanders is seen speaking to a few people in a backyard. As the ad continues, the crowds grow larger and more enthusiastic. A montage of many Sanders supporters appear, as the words "They've all come to look for America" flash on the screen. Sanders is then seen addressing a large outdoor gathering, interacting one-on-one with supporters, appearing before more energetic crowds, finally ending in a large auditorium filled to capacity with cheering people.

Dan Paul's hilarious STAR TREK satire produced in 1990. Featured on the TV show America's Funniest People in 1991. Dan Paul writes: "Just over 25 years ago a group of my friends and I produced what is most likely one of the very first Star Trek Fan Films. Our film titled: "Star Tref - The Search For Hash", is a Star Trek spoof similar to David Zucker's"Airplane" and "The Naked Gun" and movies of Mel Brooks. It is done in the style of the original Star Trek TV series, but is a spoof of the movie "Star Trek IV The Voyage Home". In our movie the crew of the Starship 'Rentaprise' must go back in time to bring a hungry alien a cargo bay full of 20th century fast food. The film is silly and spoofy and was shot on 3/4 inch professional video. Looking back there are many things I would now do ...
