The park has a variety of wildlife, birds and plants in a setting of beaches, tidal salt marsh, and hammock. Bridge of Lions - a bascule bridge that spans the Intracoastal Waterway in St. Augustine. It leads to Anastasia Island. Lions made of marble used to guard the bridge Casa Monica Hotel - It is one of the oldest hotels in the US and is a member of the "Historic Hotels of America" National Trust. Castillo de San Marcos National Monument is a Spanish built fort. It was known as Fort Marion (1821 to 1942), and Fort St. Mark(1763 to 1784) while under British control. The Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine is a historic cathedral in St. Augustine, Florida and the seat of the Roman Catholic Bishop of St. Augustine. Fort Matanzas National Monument consists of a 1740 Spanish fort, Fort Matanzas, and about 100 acres (0.4 km²) of salt marsh and barrier islands along the Matanzas River on the northern Atlantic coast of Florida. The Fountain of Youth is a legendary spring that reputedly restores the youth of anyone who drinks of its waters. The Gonzalez-Alvarez House (The Oldest House) is a historic home. It is located at 14 St. Francis Street. It is National Historic Landmark.
