Professor Sonja Luehrmann contributed as expert on "Communism and religion" for "All Sides" with Ann Fisher, produced by a public radio station in Columbus, Ohio, February 21, 2013.  See podcast interview on NPR radio show on religion in Cuba.

Article "Neoliberal diet comes under attack" in the Georgia Straight Feb 14, 2013 is based on a talk given by Gerardo Otero, SFU Sociologist, on "Food Security."  The article introduces an index he is developing to analyze the risk of overweight and obesity, which he calls the "junk-food-risk" index, that heavily affects working classes.
