On 15 October 2015 The Royal Regiment of Scotland received the Freedom of the Highlands from Highland Council at a ceremony in Inverness. The ceremony took the form of a Drumhead Service in the Northern Meeting Park.
The bands are the Pipes and Drums of The Highlanders 4th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland (4 SCOTS) and the Band of the Royal Regiment of Scotland.
This video some of the highlights of the ceremony. Soldiers from the Regiment are shown marching through Inverness to the Northern Meeting Park for the ceremony. Also shown are the parade entering the park, the inspection, setting up the drum altar, the reading of the Freedom Award, and a fanfare.
The parade marches off to the Regiment's Quick March, Scotland the Brave.
Also on parade is the Regiment's mascot Lance Corporal Cruachan IV, a Shetland pony.
Parades were also held in Wick, Dingwall and Fort William the following day.

Filmed in FULL HD. English Electric Class 37/4, 37401 'Mary Queen of Scots' is seen operating in an running evening at the Bo'ness railway - to help raise funds to get resident loco 37025 back on the mainline - a few days after it was confirmed that Direct Rail Services were taking the locomotive back for mainline use it meant that this was one of the last opportunities to see and bash this locomotive in preservation. Due steam failures on the railway it meant that 37401 worked all the usual Saturday services as well as the 'extra' evening ones. So in this video we have some clips of the loco making plenty of noise (with the best at 1:52) on its final few services on the railway from throughout the day with its final service being the next day on Sunday the 6th of July in which I have not filmed. Between two of the services an nice addition to this loco to make it more like what it did when it was based at Eastfield depot when it was frequently used on the West Highland line with the headcode box being painted black.
Also look out for another video I have uploaded from clips when I bashed some of the services on this day.

37401 'Mary Queen of Scots' last running evening at Bo'ness 5/7/14
Filmed in FULL HD. English Electric Class 37/4, 37401 'Mary Queen of Scots' is seen operating in an running evening at the Bo'ness railway - to help raise funds to get resident loco 37025 back on the mainline - a few days after it was confirmed that Direct Rail Services were taking the locomotive back for mainline use it meant that this was one of the last opportunities to see and bash this locomotive in preservation. Due steam failures on the railway it meant that 37401 worked all the usual Saturday services as well as the 'extra' evening ones. So in this video we have some clips of the loco making plenty of noise (with the best at 1:52) on its final few services on the railway from throughout the day with its final service being the next day on Sunday the 6th of July in which I have no... -

On 15 October 2015 The Royal Regiment of Scotland received the Freedom of the Highlands from Highland Council at a ceremony in Inverness. The ceremony took the form of a Drumhead Service in the Northern Meeting Park.
The bands are the Pipes and Drums of The Highlanders 4th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland (4 SCOTS) and the Band of the Royal Regiment of Scotland.
This video some of the highlights of the ceremony. Soldiers from the Regiment are shown marching through Inverness to the Northern Meeting Park for the ceremony. Also shown are the parade entering the park, the inspection, setting up the drum altar, the reading of the Freedom Award, and a fanfare.
The parade marches off to the Regiment's Quick March, Scotland the Brave.
Also on parade is the Regiment's mascot Lance Corporal Cruachan IV, a Shetland pony.
Parades were also held in Wick, Dingwall and Fort William the following day.

English Electric Class 37/4, 37401 'Mary Queen of Scots' is seen operating in an running evening at the Bo'ness railway - to help raise funds to get resident loco 37025 back on the mainline - a few days after it was confirmed that Direct Rail Services were taking the locomotive back for mainline use it meant that this was one of the last opportunities to see and bash this locomotive in preservation. Due steam failures on the railway it meant that 37401 worked all the usual Saturday services as well as the 'extra' evening ones. So in this video we have some clips of the loco making plenty of noise (with the best at 1:52) on its final few services on the railway from throughout the day with its final service being the next day on Sunday the 6th of July in which I have not filmed. Between two of the services an nice addition to this loco to make it more like what it did when it was based at Eastfield depot when it was frequently used on the West Highland line with the headcode box being painted black.
Also look out for another video I have uploaded from clips when I bashed some of the services on this day.
